2A comparative study on the hot flow stress of Mg-Al-Zn magnesium alloys using a simple physically-based approach显示文摘A comparative study was carried out on the hot flow stress of AZ31,AZ61,and AZ91 magnesium alloys.Their hot working behaviors were studied through constitutive analysis based on a simple physically-based approach which accounts for the dependence of the Young's modulus and the self-diffusion coefficient of magnesium on temperature.Since the main difference between these alloys is the difference in their amount of aluminum,the differences in constitutive behavior were quantitatively characterized by relating the hot flow stress to amount of Al,which was not possible without the consideration of physically-based parameters.It was concluded that the used approach in the current work can be considered as a versatile tool in future hot working and alloy development studies.Hamed Mirzadeh 2014Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2014,2,3:8
3Synergistic effect of Al and Gd on enhancement of mechanical properties of magnesium alloys显示文摘The effect of Gd/Al ratio on the properties of as-cast Mg-Gd-Al-Zn alloys was investigated by changing the chemical composition from that of AZ61 to GZ61. At the ratio of 1, the Al_2 Gd phase becomes predominant and Mg_(17)Al_(12) is hardly seen in the microstructure. As a potent inoculant, the Al_2Gd phase resulted in intense grain refinement and enhancement of strength, ductility and toughness. For instance, the tensile strength and elongation to failure of Mg-3Gd-3Al-1Zn alloy were enhanced by ~4% and 180% compared with those of AZ61 alloy, respectively. However, at high Gd/Al ratios, the Al_2Gd phase was replaced by(Mg,Al)_3Gd and Mg5 Gd phases and very large grain sizes were achieved, which led to poor tensile properties and the appearance of cleavage facets on the fracture surfaces. Therefore, it can be deduced that the presence of Gd and Al, in appropriate amounts to reach Gd/Al ratio of ~ 1, is required for the achievement of grain refinement, good ductility, high strength, and the appearance of ductile fracture surfaces in the Mg-Gd-Al-Zn system.Conclusively, the Mg-Gd-Al-Zn alloys can be considered as a new class of structural magnesium alloy and it is superior to both AZ(Mg-Al-Zn) and GZ(Mg-Gd-Zn) series of alloys.Bita Pourbahari Masoud Emamy Hamed Mirzadeh 2017Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2017,27,2:5
4A generalized supervised classification scheme to produce provincial wetland inventory maps:an application of Google Earth Engine for big geo data processing显示文摘Wetlands are important natural resources due to their numerous ecological services.Consequently,identifying their locations and extents is imperative.The stability,repeatability,cost-effectiveness,multi-scale coverage,and proper spatial resolution imagery of satellites provide a valuable opportunity for their use in various large-scale applications,such as provincial wetland mapping.To do so,it is required to(1)process and classify big geo data(i.e.a large amount of satellite datasets)in a time-and computationally-efficient approach and(2)collect a large amount of field samples.In this study,Google Earth Engine(GEE)and machine learning algorithms were utilized to process thousands of remote sensing images and produce provincial wetland inventory maps of the three Canadian provinces of Manitoba,Quebec,and Newfoundland and Labrador(NL).Additionally,using GEE,a generalized supervised classification method is proposed to produce a regional wetland map from a large area(e.g.,a province)when lacking field samples.In fact,using the field data from only Manitoba and assuming that all wetlands in Canada have similar characteristics,the wetland maps were generated for the other two provinces.The overall classification accuracies for Manitoba,Quebec,and NL were 84%,78%,and 82%,respectively,indicating the high potential of the proposed method for aiding provincial wetland inventory systems.Meisam Amani Brian Brisco Majid Afshar S.Mohammad Mirmazloumi Sahel Mahdavi Sayyed Mohammad Javad Mirzadeh Weimin Huang Jean Granger 2019Big Earth Data2019,3,4:4
