1A Humidity-Powered Soft Robot with Fast Rolling Locomotion显示文摘A range of soft robotic systems have recently been developed that use soft,flexible materials and respond to environmental stimulus.The greatest challenge in their design is the integration of the actuator,energy sources,and body of robots while achieving fast locomotion and well-defined programmable trajectories.This work presents such a design that operates under constant conditions without the need for an externally modulated stimulus.By using a humidity-sensitive agarose film and overcoming the isotropic and random bending of the film,the robot,which we call the Hydrollbot,harnesses energy from evaporation for spontaneous and continuous fast self-rolling locomotion with a programmable trajectory in a constant-humidity environment.Moreover,the geometric parameters of the film were fine-tuned to maximize the rolling speed,and the optimised hydrollbot is capable of carrying a payload up to 100%of its own weight.The ability to self-propel fast under constant conditions with programmable trajectories will confer practical advantages to this robot in the applications for sensors,medical robots,actuation,etc.Lei Fu Weiqiang Zhao Jiayao Ma Mingyuan Yang Xinmeng Liu Lei Zhang Yan Chen 2022Research2022,,4:3
2The influence of pore size distribution on thermal conductivity,permeability, and phase change behavior of hierarchical porous materials显示文摘Porous foams have been widely employed to improve heat storage rate and prevent leakage of phase change materials(PCMs).Actual porous foams have non-uniform or hierarchical pore size distribution, which is usually neglected in most researches.Here, we establish hierarchical porous models considering different pore size distributions by using Voronoi tessellations. Effects of pore size distribution on thermal conductivity, permeability, and phase change behavior of hierarchical porous foams/PCMs composites are investigated. Uneven pore size distributions are found to decrease the thermal conductivity of porous foams to some extent. On the other hand, the permeability can be reduced by 27.6%, and the heat storage rate can be improved by 7.7% by introducing moderate hierarchy without changing the total porosity. 3Construction of NiCeO_(x) nanosheets-skeleton cross-linked by carbon nanotubes networks for efficient electromagnetic wave absorption显示文摘In this work,two-dimensional NiCeOx nanosheet-modified carbon nanotubes(CNTs)composites were prepared by a hydrothermal method.NiCeOx with different morphologies can be formed by adjusting the addition ratio of nickel salt and cerium salt,and the introduction of CNTs in the subsequent synthesis process can effectively prevent the aggregation of NiCeOx nanosheets.Microstructural studies show that hexagonal NiCeOx nanosheets with a size of 100 nm are uniformly intertwined with CNTs.When applied to the attenuation of electromagnetic waves,NiCeOx/CNTs composites exhibit better electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorption performance than pure CNTs and NiCeOx nanosheets due to improved impedance matching and multiple polarization relaxation.At the matching thickness of 1.9 mm,the composite exhibits a minimum reflection loss(RL_(min))of–53.2 dB and an effective absorption bandwidth(RL<–10 dB)of 5.04 GHz with a thickness of 2.3 mm.These results indicate that the as-prepared NiCeOx/CNTs composites have excellent EMW absorption performance and are expected to be a candidate material for EMW absorption.Xinmeng Huang Xuehua Liu Yan Zhang Jixi Zhou Guanglei Wu Zirui Jia 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,16:3
4Efficient single-component white light emitting diodes enabled by lanthanide ions doped lead halide perovskites via controlling Forster energy transfer and specific defect clearance显示文摘Currently,a major challenge for metal-halide perovskite light emitting diodes(LEDs)is to achieve stable and efficient white light emission due to halide ion segregation.Herein,we report a promising method to fabricate white perovskite LEDs using lanthanide(Ln^(3+))ions doped CsPbCl_(3) perovskite nanocrystals(PeNCs).First,K^(+)ions are doped into the lattice to tune the perovskite bandgap by partially substituting Cs^(+)ions,which are well matched to the transition energy of some Ln^(3+)ions from the ground state to the excited state,thereby greatly improving the Förster energy transfer efficiency from excitons to Ln3+ions.Then,creatine phosphate(CP),a phospholipid widely found in organisms,serves as a tightly binding surface-capping multi-functional ligand which regulates the film formation and enhances the optical and electrical properties of PeNC film.Consequently,the Eu^(3+)doped PeNCs based-white LEDs show a peak luminance of 1678 cd m^(-2) and a maximum external quantum efficiency(EQE)of 5.4%,demonstrating excellent performance among existing white PeNC LEDs from a single chip.Furthermore,the method of bandgap modulation and the defect passivation were generalized to other Ln^(3+)ions doped perovskite LEDs and successfully obtained improved electroluminescence(EL).This work demonstrates the comprehensive and universal strategies in the realization of highly efficient and stable white LEDs via single-component Ln^(3+)ions doped PeNCs,which provides an optimal solution for the development of low-cost and simple white perovskite LEDs.Rui Sun Donglei Zhou Yujiao Ding Yue Wang Yuqi Wang Xinmeng Zhuang Shuainan Liu Nan Ding Tianyuan Wang Wen Xu Hongwei Song 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,12:3
5Local electrical charac terization of t wo-dimensional mat erials with functional atomic force microscopy显示文摘Research about two-dimensional (2D) materials is growing exponentially across various scientific and engineering disciplines due to the wealth of unusual physical phenomena that occur when charge transport is confined to a plane. The applications of 2D materials are highly affected by the electrical properties of these mat erials, including curren t dist ribution, surface pot ential, dielectric response, conductivity, perm计tivity, and piezoelectric response. Hence, it is very crucial to characterize these properties at the nanoscale. The Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM)-based techniques are powerful tools that can simultaneously characterize morphology and electrical properties of 2D materials with high spatial resolution, thus being more and more extensively used in this research field. Here, the principles of these AFM techniques are reviewed in detail. 6Clinical factors associated with composition of lung microbiota and important taxa predicting clinical prognosis in patients with severe community-acquired pneumonia显示文摘Few studies have described the key features and prognostic roles of lung microbiota in patients with severe community-acquired pneumonia(SCAP).We prospectively enrolled consecutive SCAP patients admitted to ICU.Bronchoscopy was performed at bedside within 48 h of ICU admission,and 16S rRNA gene sequencing was applied to the collected bronchoalveolar lavage fluid.The primary outcome was clinical improvements defined as a decrease of 2 categories and above on a 7-category ordinal scale within 14 days following bronchoscopy.Sixty-seven patients were included.Multivariable permutational multivariate analysis of variance found that positive bacteria lab test results had the strongest independent association with lung microbiota(R2=0.033;P=0.018),followed by acute kidney injury(AKI;R2=0.032;P=0.011)and plasma MIP-1βlevel(R2=0.027;P=0.044).Random forest identified that the families Prevotellaceae,Moraxellaceae,and Staphylococcaceae were the biomarkers related to the positive bacteria lab test results.Multivariable Cox regression showed that the increase inα-diversity and the abundance of the families Prevotellaceae and Actinomycetaceae were associated with clinical improvements.The positive bacteria lab test results,AKI,and plasma MIP-1βlevel were associated with patients’lung microbiota composition on ICU admission.The families Prevotellaceae and Actinomycetaceae on admission predicted clinical improvements.Sisi Du Xiaojing Wu Binbin Li Yimin Wang Lianhan Shang Xu Huang Yudi Xia Donghao Yu Naicong Lu Zhibo Liu Chunlei Wang Xinmeng Liu Zhujia Xiong Xiaohui Zou Binghuai Lu Yingmei Liu Qingyuan Zhan Bin Cao 2022Frontiers of Medicine2022,16,3:2
7Influence of Spatial-Temporal and Environmental Factors on Larimichthys polyactis, Octopus variabilis, and Species Aggregated Set-Net CPUEs in Haizhou Bay, China显示文摘Set-nets are common alongshore fishing gear used in Haizhou Bay, which rely on flow to catch fish. The catch per unit effort(CPUE) of set-net is affected by spatial-temporal and environmental factors but no research has been conducted on this subject. In this study, we used generalized additive models(GAMs) to explore the influence of spatial-temporal and environmental factors on CPUEs of species aggregated, small yellow croaker(Larimichthys polyactis), and octopus(Octopus variabilis) based on logbooks investigations conducted at 4 stations in an alongshore area of Haizhou Bay from 2011 to 2012. The results showed that all CPUEs exhibited significant spatial-temporal differences at various scales. Aggregated CPUE was high when the sea surface temperature(SST) was 15-18℃ and 20-23℃, which was mainly determined by life history traits of the octopus and small yellow croaker(optimal SSTs 14-17℃ and 19-24℃, respectively). Chlorophyll-a concentration had significant influences on the aggregated, small yellow croaker and octopus CPUEs at optimal ranges of 3.8-6.2 mg m^(-3), 4.2-4.8 mg m^(-3) and 4.5-5.5 mg m^(-3), respectively. Flow through the net had positive relationships with CPUEs. The approximate logarithmic trends in regression curves had a critical point of 2.5 Mm^3 d^(-1), which was the dividing point that differentiated whether the major factor affecting CPUEs was the flow velocity or the fishery resource. 10Environmental effects of mariculture in China:An overall study of nitrogen and phosphorus loads显示文摘Eutrophication in coastal area has become more and more serious and mariculture potential is a main cause.Although there are some quantitative research on nutrient loads in national and global perspective,the calculation method problems make the results controversial.In this paper,the farming activities are divided into fed culture types(include cage culture and pond culture)and extractive culture types(e.g.seaweed,filter-feeding shellfish culture).Based on the annual yield of China in 2019 and feed coefficient of fed culture types and carbon(C),nitrogen(N),and phosphorus(P)content of extractive culture types,the annual nutrient loads was estimated.The results showed that to coastal region of China(1)annual nutrient released by fed culture types were about58451 t of N,9081 t of P,and annual nutrient removed by harvest of extractive culture types were 109245 t of N,11980 t of P and 1.86×10^(6)t of C.Overall,the net amount of nutrient removed annually by mariculture industry were 50794 t of N and 2901 t of P.(2)The nutrient released from mariculture industry influenced nutrient stoichiometry.Pond farming and seaweed farming had the potential of increasing the molar concentration ratio of N and P(N:P),while cage farming and bivalve farming decreased the N:P.(3)Due to different mariculture types and layouts in the coastal regions in China,N and P loading were regional different.Among the coastal regions in China,net release of nutrient from mariculture occurred only in Hainan and Guangxi regions,while in the other regions,N and P were completely removed by harvest.We suggest decrease the amount of fed culture types and increase the amount of integrated culture with extractive culture types.This study will help to adjust mariculture structure and layout at the national level to reduce the environmental impact.Jihong Zhang Wenguang Wu Yuchen Li Yi Liu Xinmeng Wang 2022Acta Oceanologica Sinica2022,41,6:1
11Globular adiponectin ameliorates insulin resistance in skeletal muscle by enhancing the LKB1-mediated AMPK activation via SESN2显示文摘Adiponectin has been demonstrated to be a mediator of insulin sensitivity;however,the underlined mechanisms remain unclear.SESN2 is a stress-inducible protein that phosphorylates AMPK in different tissues.In this study,we aimed to validate the amelioration of insulin resistance by globular adiponectin(gAd)and to reveal the role of SESN2 in the improvement of glucose metabolism by gAd.We used a high-fat diet-induced wild-type and SESN2/C57BL/6J insulin resistance mice model to study the effects of six-week aerobic exercise or gAd administration on insulin resistance.In vitro study,C2C12 myotubes were used to determine the potential mechanism by overexpressing or inhibiting SESN2.Similar to exercise,six-week gAd administration decreased fasting glucose,triglyceride and insulin levels,reduced lipid deposition in skeletal muscle and reversed whole-body insulin resistance in mice fed on a high-fat diet.Moreover,gAd enhanced skeletal muscle glucose uptake by activating insulin signaling.However,these effects were diminished in SESN2/mice.We found that gAd administration increased the expression of SESN2 and Liver kinase B1(LKB1)and increased AMPK-T172 phosphorylation in skeletal muscle of wild-type mice,while in SESN2/mice,LKB1 expression was also increased but the pAMPKT172 was unchanged.At the cellular level,gAd increased cellular SESN2 and pAMPK-T172 expression.Immunoprecipitation experiment suggested that SESN2 promoted the formation of complexes of AMPK and LKB1 and hence phosphorylated AMPK.In conclusion,our results revealed that SESN2 played a critical role in gAd-induced AMPK phosphorylation,activation of insulin signaling and skeletal muscle insulin sensitization in mice with insulin resistance.Xinmeng Liu Yang Yang Heng Shao Sujuan Liu Yanmei Niu Li Fu 2023Sports Medicine and Health Science2023,5,1:0
12Impact of summer moratorium on set-net fi shery in Haizhou Bay,China显示文摘The set-net fi shery resources in Haizhou Bay,China have been over-exploited because of over-fi shing and environmental deterioration.To better understand the current situations and the development trends of fi shery resources,the temporal change of biological characteristics and community compositions were analyzed from 2011 to 2018.Meanwhile,we evaluated the impact of the summer moratorium of marine fi shing(SMMF)on the set-net fi shery.Results show that the mean total length of the six principal species showed varying degrees of decreasing trends,while the changing patterns for the mean weight proportion of the six groups varied.For the whole communities,the similarities of the inter-annual community diversities and compositions were high.SMMF is meaningful to help reproductive success and support recruitment.Every year,the catch per unit eff orts of the six principal species after SMMF were signifi cantly higher than before SMMF except for Octopus ocellatus.The target groups showed a higher mean weight proportion after SMMF than before SMMF in eight years,while the non-target groups were converse.Therefore,the resources of the set-net fi shery are changing in the study periods;and SMMF is an important factor infl uencing biological characteristics and community structure.Despite some challenges,SMMF is still one of the most appropriate policy tools to protect the set-net fi shery resources under the reality of China.Guangjie FANG Haolin YU Xinmeng WANG Huaxiang SHENG Yanli TANG Changdong LIU Chuanxi CHEN Zhenlin LIANG 2022Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2022,40,4:0
13Hydrogen peroxide as a systemic messenger in the photosynthetic induction of mulberry leaves显示文摘Mulberry(Morus alba L.)seedlings were used to test hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2))as a potential systemic messenger in photosynthetic induction.The upper leaf of mulberry was dark-adapted for 45 min and then illuminated with photosynthetically active radiation(PAR)of1000μmol m^(-2)s^(-1).Photosynthetic induction and H_(2)O_(2) content in the lower leaf was measured.The results show that pre-illumination of the upper leaf promoted photosynthetic induction and increased endogenous H_(2)O_(2) in the lower leaf.Without pre-illuminating upper leaf,exogenous H_(2)O_(2) treatment on the lower leaf promoted photosynthetic induction.The application of diphenyleneiodonium and trichloroacetic acid on petioles of the upper leaf inhibited H_(2)O_(2) increase in the lower leaf,indicating that H_(2)O_(2) transport was from upper leaves to lower leaves through the phloem.The results show that H_(2)O_(2) might serve as a signal messenger to promote rapid induction of photosynthesis of leaves in lower parts of the canopy and enable plants to use light energy more efficiently.Wei Li Geng Chen Yujiao Fang Tao Wang Yixiong Wu Yue Wu Xinmeng Liu Baiwen Jiang 2021Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,3:0

15Single-cell Sequencing Reveals Clearance of Blastula Chromosomal Mosaicism in In Vitro Fertilization Babies显示文摘Although chromosomal mosaic embryos detected by trophectoderm(TE)biopsy offer healthy embryos available for transfer,high-resolution postnatal karyotyping and chromosome testing of the transferred embryos are insufficient.Here,we applied single-cell multi-omics sequencing for seven infants with blastula chromosomal mosaicism detected by TE biopsy.The chromosome ploidy was examined by single-cell genome analysis,with the cellular identity being identified by single-cell transcriptome analysis.A total of 1616 peripheral leukocytes from seven infants with embryonic chromosomal mosaicism and three control ones with euploid TE biopsy were analyzed.A small number of blood cells showed copy number alterations(CNAs)on seemingly random locations at a frequency of 0%-2.5%per infant.However,none of the cells showed CNAs that were the same as those of the corresponding TE biopsies.The blastula chromosomal mosaicism may be fully self-corrected,probably through the selective loss of the aneuploid cells during development,and the transferred embryos can be born as euploid infants without mosaic CNAs corresponding to the TE biopsies.The results provide a new reference for the evaluations of transferring chromosomal mosaic embryos in certain situations.Yuan Gao Jinning Zhang Zhenyu Liu Shuyue Qi Xinmeng Guo Hui Wang Yanfei Cheng Shuang Tian Minyue Ma Hongmei Peng Lu Wen Fuchou Tang Yuanqing Yao 2022Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2022,20,6:0
