| 1 | Emerging electrochemical processes for materials recovery from wastewater: Mechanisms and prospects显示文摘Recovering valuable materials from waste streams is critical to the transition to a circular economy with reduced environmental damages caused by resource extraction activities.Municipal and industrial wastewaters contain a variety of materials,such as nutrients(nitrogen and phosphorus),lithium,and rare earth elements,which can be recovered as value-added products.Owing to their modularity,convenient operation and control,and the non-requirement of chemical dosage,electrochemical technologies offer a great promise for resource recovery in small-scale,decentralized systems.Here,we review three emerging electrochemical technologies for materials recovery applications:electrosorption based on carbonaceous and intercalation electrodes,electrochemical redox processes,and electrochemically induced precipitation.We highlight the mechanisms for achieving selective materials recovery in these processes.We also present an overview of the advantages and limitations of these technologies,as well as the key challenges that need to be overcome for their deployment in real-world systems to achieve cost-effective and sustainable materials recovery. | Lingchen Kong Xitong Liu | 2020 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2020,14,5: | 0 |
| 2 | Covalent organic hollow nanospheres constructed by using AIEactive units for nitrophenol explosives detection显示文摘The development of conjugated nanomaterials with high sensitivity and super-amplified quenching effect for the detection of nitrophenol explosives is still a great challenge. Herein, we developed conjugated hollow nanospheres constructed by using aggregation-induced emission(AIE) active 1,3,5-tris(4-formyl-phenyl)benzene(TFPB). The high emission hollow nanospheres with uniform size and admirable dispersiveness exhibited obvious fluorescence quenching response with the addition of nitrophenol explosives owing to the photoinduced electron transfer(PET) from the hollow nanospheres to nitrophenol explosives. The Stern-Volmer constants of hollow spheres for 2,4,6-trinitrophenol(TNP), 4-nitrophenol(NP) and 2,4-dinitrophenol(DNP) can reach 9.67×10^5, 3.14×10^5 and 4.8×10^4 M-1, respectively. Furthermore, the handy test paper coated with hollow nanospheres was prepared and showed a good response toward TNP solutions and vapor. | 3 | Effect of layer thickness and voxel size inversion on leaf area density based on the voxel-based canopy profiling method显示文摘Voxel-based canopy profiling is commonly used to determine small-scale leaf area.Layer thickness and voxel size impact accuracy when using this method.Here,we determined the optimal combination of layer thickness and voxel size to estimate leaf area density accurately.Terrestrial LiDAR Stonex X300 was used to generate point cloud data for Masson pines(Pinus massoniana).The canopy layer was stratified into 0.10-1.00-m-thick layers,while voxel size was 0.01-0.10 m.The leaf area density of individual trees was estimated using leaf area indices for the upper,middle,and lower canopy and the overall canopy.The true leaf area index,obtained by layered harvesting,was used to verify the inversion results.Leaf area density was inverted by nine combinations of layer thickness and voxel size.The average relative accuracy and mean estimated accuracy of these combined inversion results exceeded 80%.When layer thickness was 1.00 m and voxel size 0.05 m,inversion was closest to the true value.The average relative accuracy was 92.58%,mean estimated accuracy 98.00%,and root mean square error 0.17.The combination of leaf area density and index was accurately retrieved.In conclusion,nondestructive voxel-based canopy profiling proved suitable for inverting the leaf area density of Masson pine in Hetian Town,Fujian Province. | Yan Chen Jian Liu Xiong Yao Yangbo Deng Zhenbang Hao Lingchen Lin Nankun Wu Kunyong Yu | 2022 | Journal of Forestry Research2022,33,5: | 0 |
| 4 | Morphology controllable conjugated network polymers based on AIE-active building block for TNP detection显示文摘Luminescent conjugated network polymer is one of the most promising chemo-sensors owing to their good chemical/optical stability and multiple functionalization.Herein,three conjugated network polymers were prepared by using aggregation-induced emission active 1,1,2,2-tetrakis(4-formyl-(1,1’-biphenyl))-ethane(TFBE)unit as monomer and hydrazine as linker.Through regulating the synthetical condition,the polyme ric network can form either unifo rm two-dimensional azine-linked nanosheets(ANS),conjugated microporous polymers(A-CMP)or covalent organic frameworks(A-COF).All of these polymers exhibited good stability and high fluorescence quantum efficiency with the quantum yield of6.31%for A-NS,5.26%for A-CMP,and 5.80%for A-COF,as well as fast and selective fluorescence quenching response to 2,4,6-trinitrophenol(TNP).And the best TNP sensing performance with the Stern-Volmer constants(K_(sv))values up to 8×10^(5)L/mol and a detection limit of 0.09μmol/L was obtained for A-NS.The study explores various strategies to construct conjugated polymers with different nanoarchitectures based on the same building block for sensitive detection of explosives. | Shan Jiang Lingchen Meng Wenyue Ma Qingkai Qi Wei Zhang Bin Xu Leijing Liu Wenjing Tian | 2021 | Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,3: | 0 |
| 5 | Twisted Intramolecular Charge Transfer—Aggregation-Induced Emission Fluorogen with Polymer Encapsulation-Enhanced NearInfrared Emission for Bioimaging显示文摘Fluorescence probes with strong near-infrared(NIR)emission and water solubility are considered useful visualization tools for localization marking as well as investigating cell migration and transplantation.Here,we designed and synthesized a new donor–π–acceptor(D–π–A)fluorogen,2-(4-[(E)-4-(diphenylamino)styryl]phenyl)-3-(4′-[1,2,2-triphenylvinyl]-[1,1′-biphenyl]-4-yl)fumaronitrile(TB-TPE).TB-TPE exhibits twisted intramolecular charge transfer(TICT)and aggregation-induced emission(AIE)in the NIR region,with an emission peak at 714 nm and a fluorescence quantum yield(Qy)of 6.6%in the solid state.By encapsulating TB-TPE with polystyrene–polyethylene glycol(PS-PEG),watersoluble TB-TPE-PS-PEG nanoparticles(TP NPs)are fabricated,which display polymer encapsulationenhanced emission with a Qy of 46.5%due to the strong restriction effect on the TICT process and the destruction of H aggregation for TB-TPE by the polymer matrix.Au-coated Fe_(3)O_(4)(Fe_(3)O_(4)@Au)nanocrystals were then embedded in the TP NPs to form highly fluorescent TB-TPE-Fe_(3)O_(4)-Au-PS-PEG nanoparticles(TFAP NPs)with a Qy of 39.7%.Our demonstration of successful cellular imaging of TP NPs for Hep-G2 cells and multimodality imaging of TFAP NPs in mouse liver tumors indicates that polymer-encapsulated TB-TPE offers great prospects as a multifunctional fluorescence probe for bioimaging. | Lingchen Meng Xibo Ma Shan Jiang Song Zhang Zhiyuan Wu Bin Xu Zhen Lei Leijing Liu Wenjing Tian | 2021 | CCS Chemistry2021,3,3: | 0 |
| 6 | From“selective two-child policy”to universal two-child policy:Will the payment crisis of China’s pension system be solved?显示文摘With the rapid population aging,the payment crisis of China’s pension insurance fund is increasing yearly.The government adjusts fertility policy to alleviate population aging and improve the solvency of pension insurance fund.On January1,2016,China’s fertility policy was adjusted from“selective two-child policy”to universal two-child policy.This paper establishes actuarial models to analyze how fertility policy adjustment influences the pension insurance fund and concludes as follows:(1)if the“one-child policy”were still employed,the accumulated deficit of pension insurance fund would appear in the year of 2076;(2)if all couples that satisfy the rules of“selective two-child policy”bear the second child,the time of accumulated deficit of pension insurance fund would be postponed by about 9 years;(3)after implementing universal two-child policy,the time of accumulated deficit of pension insurance fund would delay under different situations of fertility intentions,if more than 54% of the qualified couples bear a second child,the accumulated deficit of pension insurance fund would not appear before 2090.The above conclusions have passed the sensitivity tests.Therefore,“two-child policy”can alleviate the payment pressure of pension insurance fund.If the government wants to solve the payment crisis of pension insurance fund,fertility intentions should be improved. | Zeng Yi Zhang Xinjie Liu Lingchen | 2017 | China Finance and Economic Review2017,6,1: | 0 |
