1GRAIN LENGTH AND AWN 1 negatively regulates grain size in rice显示文摘Grain size is an important factor determining yield in rice. Here, we identified a recessive mutant gene, grain length and awn 1 (gla1), which caused a significant increase in grain length and weight, and was associated with long awns. The gla1 mutation was mapped to a single-nucleotide polymorphism in a gene encoding a cytoplasmically-localized mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) phosphatase. Overexpression of GLA1 caused a decrease in grain length, and the GLA1 protein interacted with OsMAPK6. 3Less and shrunken pollen 1(LSP1) encodes a member of the ABC transporter family required for pollen wall development in rice(Oryza sativa L.)显示文摘Pollen fertility is an agronomic trait that strongly influences rice yield. Recent studies have revealed that the development of the pollen wall is required for pollen fertility and is regulated by several genes. However, the mechanisms underlying pollen and pollen wall development in rice remain largely unknown. In the present study, a point mutation in a gene on chromosome 1 was identified that resulted in the production of less and shrunken pollen(LSP) and led to defects in pollen wall formation. This gene was named LSP1 and was found to encode a member of the adenosine triphosphate-binding cassette(ABC)transporter G subfamily, OsABCG3. Two other loss-of-function mutants of LSP1/OsABCG3,generated using CRISPR/Cas9 technology, showed the same male sterile phenotype. The LSP1/OsABCG3 gene showed a spatio-temporal expression pattern in the developing anthers, and is an ortholog of the Arabidopsis genes At ABCG1 and At ABCG16, which play an important role in pollen wall development. Mutation of LSP1/OsABCG3 affected the expression of several genes involved in pollen and pollen wall formation. 4Microdilution inhibition test of Chinese herbs to assess their effect against clinical strains of Ureaplasma urealyticum in vitro显示文摘Objective:To explore the antibacterial effect of Chinese crude drugs against clinical strains of Ureaplasma urealyticum(UU), including eight pure herbs and three compound herbs, and determine their minimal inhibitory concentrations(MICs). Methods:Isolates were collected from clinical patients with UU infection, and cultured in UU broth. In order to test the different effects on clinical strains of UU, the assays were performed by microdilution inhibition tests, and MICs of the herbs against the clinical strains of UU were calculated. Results:The MICs of eight pure herbs against clinical strains of UU were as follows: Galla Chinensis:0.313~1.25 g/L; Fructus Forsythiae: 1.25~5.00 g/L; Cortex Phellodendri:1.25~5.00 g/L; Radix Paeoniae Rubra:1.25~2.50 g/L; Semen Plantaginis:2.50~10.00 g/L; Herba Lysimachiae: 5.00~20.00 g/L; Rhizoma Coptidis: 5.00~20.00g/L, Herba Houttuyniae: 10.00~20.00 g/L. The MICs of compound herbs were: Liuheji: 0.625~2.50 g/L; Bazhengsan: 5.00~20.00 g/L; Wulinsan:2.50~20.0 g/L.Conclusion:Galla Chinensis, Fructus Forsythiae, Cortex Phellodendrim, Radix Paeoniae Rubra, and Semen Plantaginis, exerted the stronger antibacterial effect against clinical strains of UU, whereas Herba Lysimachiae, Rhizoma Coptidis and Herba Houttuyniae, had relatively weaker activity against UU. Compound herbs, Bazhengsan and Wulinsan, and particularly Liuheji, also had antibacterial effects against UU. 5DEAP1 encodes a fasciclin-like arabinogalactan protein required for male fertility in rice显示文摘Arabinogalactan proteins(AGPs)are widely distributed in plant cells.Fasciclin-like AGPs(FLAs)belong to a subclass of AGPs that play important roles in plant growth and development.However,little is known about the biological functions of rice FLA.Herein,we report the identification of a male-sterile mutant of DEFECTIVE EXINE AND APERTURE PATTERNING1(DEAP1)in rice.The deap1 mutant anthers produced aberrant pollen grains with defective exine formation and a flattened aperture annulus and exhibited slightly delayed tapetum degradation.DEAP1 encodes a plasma membrane-associated member of groupⅢplant FLAs and is specifically and temporally expressed in reproductive cells and the tapetum layer during male development.Gene expression studies revealed reduced transcript accumulation of genes related to exine formation,aperture patterning,and tapetum development in deap1 mutants.Moreover,DEAP1 may interact with two rice D6 PROTEIN KINASE-LIKE3 s(OsD6PKL3s),homologs of a known Arabidopsis aperture protein,to affect rice pollen aperture development.Our findings suggested that DEAP1 is involved in male reproductive development and may affect exine formation and aperture patterning,thereby providing new insights into the molecular functions of plant FLAs in male fertility.Dan Zhou Ting Zou Kaixuan Zhang Pingping Xiong Fuxing Zhou Hao Chen Gongwen Li Kaiyou Zheng Yuhao Han Kun Peng Xu Zhang Shangyu Yang Qiming Deng Shiquan Wang Jun Zhu Yueyang Liang Changhui Sun Xiumei Yu Huainian Liu Lingxia Wang Ping Li Shuangcheng Li 2022Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,7:2

9Capacitive properties of low potential electro-polymerized polyfluorene and activated carbon composite electrode显示文摘Polyfluorene (PF) film has been successfully electropolymerized at lower potential (0.91 V vs.Ag/AgCl) in the mixed electrolyte of boron trifluoride diethyl etherate and trifluoroacetic acid.The PF film is characterized to have about 10 repeat units and no presence of ketonic defect site.UV-vis and photoluminescent spectral studies indicate that the PF film is blue light emitting.From cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge-discharge tests in 1 M lithium perchlorate/acetonitrile electrolyte,the polyfluorene/activated carbon electrode shows a specific capacitance of 227.1 F g-1 (per active layer mass) and reversible redox reaction at the potential of 1.4 V in a three electrode configuration.An asymmetric electrochemical capacitor based on this composite electrode and activated carbon electrode exhibits a specific energy of 14.7 Wh kg-1 (per active layer mass).These results indicate that electrochemically prepared polyfluorene could be used as energy storage component for electrochemical application.LIU Wei SUN MingLiang WANG Wei SONG LingXia GE HongLun SUN Miao ZHANG QingJie 2012Science China Chemistry2012,55,3:1

15Identification of novel Z/W chromosome-specific markers from the giant freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii显示文摘The giant freshwater prawn(Macrobrachium rosenbergii)is a commercially cultured species in China.A sex chromosome-specific marker is crucial for sex identification and distinguishing sex chromosomes.Here,based on the results of reduced-representation genome sequencing and genome survey of M.rosenbergii,we identified steady sex-linked markers.Further nucleotide alignment analysis revealed 83.42%nucleotide similarity between the amplified W-and Z-chromosome fragments.qPCR confirmed that Z chromosome-specific fragments were present in males approximately twice as often compared to females.Similarly,the W chromosome-specific fragments were present in super females approximately twice as often compared to females.Our findings elucidate the ZW/ZZ sex determination type and contribute to exploring sex-related or sex-determining genes present on the sex chromosomes of M.rosenbergii.Xue Liu Lingxia Zhou Biyun Luo Hongli Qian Baoqing Ye Keyi Ma Gaofeng Qiu 2023Aquaculture and Fisheries2023,8,5:0

17Anti - UV Finishing of Cotton Fabrics with Lithospermum Extract显示文摘Lithospermum extract from Lithospermum is a kind of naphthoquinone,which has good anti-ultraviolet and antibacterial function.In this paper,the effects of different treatment temperature,time and ratio of liquid to liquid on the UV resistance of Lithospermum erythrorhizon extract were studied.The optimum extraction conditions were as follows: extraction temperature 60 ℃,extraction time 2 h,ratio of liquid to liquid of Lithospermum and ethanol 1:11.In this paper,the anti-UV finishing of cotton fabric was carried out,and the anti-ultraviolet and whiteness of the fabric were taken as the main indexes.The optimum process of the anti-UV finishing was as follows: the impregnation temperature was 70 ℃,the immersion time was 2h,1:40.Compared with the uncoated cotton fabric,the fabric UPF value of the fabric was improved from 12.31 to 83.25,and the anti-ultraviolet performance was excellent,and it had certain bacteriostatic effect on Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli.Shengbo Liu Lingxia Zhao Dongxu Wu 2018Imaging and Radiation Research2018,1,1:0
18Carbon sequestration benefits of the grain for Green Program in the hilly red soil region of southern China显示文摘Soil erosion disturbs not only the global carbon cycle,but it is a complex environmental problem.Revegetation could reduce carbon emission by controlling soil erosion and increase carbon sequestration and accumulation by fixing carbon in vegetation and soil.The Grain for Green Program(GFGP)of China is the largest ecological restoration program in the world closely related to land-use/land-cover change(LUCC).Systematically assessing the carbon sequestration benefit of GFGP is crucial for a better understanding of the effects of implementing GFGP and providing reasonable vegetation management.Therefore,we selected the hilly red soil region(HRSR)of southern China as a study area,which is one of the main ecologically vulnerable areas in China.We assessed the carbon sequestration in the GFGP area of the HRSR using the InVEST(Integrated Valuation of Environmental Services and Tradeoffs)model based on land-use/land-cover datasets during 2000e2015.Our results show that implementing GFGP is conducive to the enhancement of carbon sequestration services.Total carbon sequestration showed an increasing trend at a rate of 15.43%from 2000 to 2015.The most significant change mainly happened in Hunan Province with the shortest implementation time.The carbon sequestration of each carbon pool(namely aboveground biomass,belowground biomass,soil,and dead organic matter)also increased slightly.Additionally,for carbon sequestration,unused land converted to forest land is the most effective LUCC.This study can provide scientific support for the management and implementation of GFGP in the HRSR of China.Xiaoqian Hu Zhongwu Li Jia Chen Xiaodong Nie Junyu Liu Lingxia Wang Ke Ning 2021International Soil and Water Conservation Research2021,9,2:0
19Amplified circularly polarized luminescence enabled by photon upconversion in spin-coating cellulose matrix显示文摘It is of great significance to construct organic circularly polarized luminescence systems(CPL) with large luminescence dissymmetry factors(g_(lum)) for practical applications. Here we report organic CPL systems constructed by merging triplet-triplet annihilation upconversion chromophores in cellulose matrices. The chirality of the matrix is transferred to the achiral chromophores of photon upconversion and then the multistep energy transfer processes of upconversion amplify g_(lum). The g_(lum)value of upconversion CPL in the left-handed ethyl cellulose and the right-handed(acetyl) ethyl cellulose are up to +0.1 and -0.15, respectively.
