| 1 | Adsorption separation of carbon dioxide, methane and nitrogen on monoethanol amine modified β-zeolite显示文摘A new type of composite adsorbents was synthesized by incorporating monoethanol amine (MEA) into β-zeolite. The parent and MEA- functionalized β-zeolites were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), N2 adsorption, and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The adsorption behavior of carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), and nitrogen (N2) on these adsorbents was investigated at 303 K. The results show that the structure of zeolite was well preserved after MEA modification. In comparison with CH4 and N2, CO2 was preferentially adsorbed on the adsorbents investigated. The introduction of MEA significantly improved the selectivity of both CO2/CH4 and CO2/N2, the optimal selectivity of CO2/CH4 can reach 7.70 on 40 wt% of MEA-functionalized β-zeolite (MEA(40)-β) at 1 atm. It is worth noticing that a very high selectivity of CO2/N2 of 25.67 was obtained on MEA(40)-β. Steric effect and chemical adsorbate-adsorbent interaction were responsible for such high adsorption selectivity of CO2. | 8 | Magnetically responsive porous materials for efficient adsorption and desorption processes显示文摘Magnetically responsive porous materials possess unique properties in adsorption processes such as magneticinduced separation and heat generation in alternating magnetic fields, which greatly facilitates recycling procedures, favors long-term operation, and improves desorption rate, making conventional adsorption processes highly efficient. With increasing interest in magnetic adsorbents, great progress has been made in designing and understanding of magnetically responsive porous materials varying from monoliths to nanoscale particles used for adsorption including oil uptake, removal of hazardous substances from water, deep desulfurization of fuels, and CO2 capture in the past few years. Therefore, a review summarizing the advanced strategies of synthesizing these magnetically responsive adsorbents and the utilization of their magnetism in practical applications is highly desired. In this review, we give a comprehensive overview of this emerging field, highlighting the strategies of exquisitely incorporating magnetism to porous materials and subtly exploiting their magnetic responsiveness. Further innovations for fabricating or utilizing magnetic adsorbents are expected to be fueled. | 13 | Fabrication of adsorbents with enhanced CuⅠ stability: Creating a superhydrophobic microenvironment through grafting octadecylamine显示文摘In atmospheric conditions, CuⅠis easily oxidized to CuⅡdue to the coexistence of moisture and oxygen.The poor oxidation inhibition of CuⅠrestricts the practical application of CuⅠ-containing materials.Herein we introduce an approach to construct a superhydrophobic microenvironment in CuⅠfunctionalized metal–organic frameworks by coordinatedly grafting organic amine compounds onto open metal sites(OMSs), which can hinder the accessibility of moisture to pores thereby enhancing the stability of CuⅠ. As a proof of concept, MIL-101(Cr) with abundant OMSs and octadecylamine(OA)with long hydrophobic alkyl groups are used as carrier and surface coating. As superhydrophobic porous materials, the resultant CuⅠM-OA exhibits improved CuⅠstability in addition to retaining high crystallinity and intact porosity while almost all CuⅠis oxidized in hydrophilic CuⅠM upon exposure in a humid atmosphere for 30 h. CuⅠM-OA owns excellent adsorption desulfurization performance(ADS) with regard to thiophene, benzothiophene, and 4,6-dimethyl dibenzothiophene. Even from hydrated fuel, the adsorption performance of CuⅠM-OA maintains well while the adsorption capacity of CuⅠM decreases to 7% after4 cycles. | 15 | Intranasal booster using an Omicron vaccine confers broad mucosal and systemic immunity against SARS-CoV-2 variants显示文摘The highly contagious SARS-CoV-2 Omicron subvariants severely attenuated the effectiveness of currently licensed SARS-CoV-2 vaccines based on ancestral strains administered via intramuscular injection.In this study,we generated a recombinant,replication-incompetent human adenovirus type 5,Ad5-S-Omicron,that expresses Omicron BA.1 spike.Intranasal,but not intramuscular vaccination,elicited spike-specific respiratory mucosal IgA and residential T cell immune responses,in addition to systemic neutralizing antibodies and T cell immune responses against most Omicron subvariants.We tested intranasal Ad5-S-Omicron as a heterologous booster in mice that previously received intramuscular injection of inactivated ancestral vaccine.In addition to inducing serum broadly neutralizing antibodies,there was a significant induction of respiratory mucosal IgA and neutralizing activities against Omicron subvariants BA.1,BA.2,BA.5,BA.2.75,BF.7 as well as pre-Omicron strains Wildtype,Beta,and Delta.Serum and mucosal neutralizing activities against recently emerged XBB,BQ.1,and BQ.1.1 could also be detected but were much lower.Nasal lavage fluids from intranasal vaccination contained multimeric IgA that can bind to at least 10 spike proteins,including Omicron subvariants and pre-Omicron strains,and possessed broadly neutralizing activities.Intranasal vaccination using Ad5-S-Omicron or instillation of intranasal vaccinee’s nasal lavage fluids in mouse nostrils protected mice against Omicron challenge.Taken together,intranasal Ad5-S-Omicron booster on the basis of ancestral vaccines can establish effective mucosal and systemic immunity against Omicron subvariants and multiple SARS-CoV-2 variants.This candidate vaccine warrants further development as a safe,effective,and user-friendly infection and transmission-blocking vaccine. | Qian Wang Chenchen Yang Li Yin Jing Sun Wei Wang Hengchun Li Zhengyuan Zhang Si Chen Bo Liu Zijian Liu Linjing Shi Xiaolin Liu Suhua Guan Chunhua Wang Linbing Qu Ying Feng Xuefeng Niu Liqiang Feng Jincun Zhao Pingchao Li Ling Chen Nanshan Zhong | 2023 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,5: | 0 |
