1Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces for smart wireless environments:channel estimation,system design and applications in 6G networks显示文摘Reconfigurable intelligent surface(RIS),one of the key enablers for the sixth-generation(6G)mobile communication networks,is considered by designers to smartly reconfigure the wireless propagation environment in a controllable and programmable manner.Specifically,an RIS consists of a large number of low-cost and passive reflective elements(REs)without radio frequency chains.The system gain of RIS wireless systems can be achieved by adjusting the phase shifts and amplitudes of the REs so that the desired signals can be added constructively at the receiver.However,an RIS typically has limited signal processing capability and cannot perform active transmitting/receiving in general,which leads to new challenges in the physical layer design of RIS wireless systems.In this paper,we provide an overview of the RIS-aided wireless systems,including the reflection principle,channel estimation,and system design.In particular,two types of emerging RIS systems are considered:RIS-aided wireless communications(RAWC)and RISbased information transmission(RBIT),where the RIS plays the role of the reflector and the transmitter,respectively.We also envision the potential applications of RIS in 6G networks.Ying-Chang LIANG Jie CHEN Ruizhe LONG Zhen-Qing HE Xianqi LIN Chenlu HUANG Shilin LIU Xuemin(Sherman)SHEN Marco DI RENZO 2021Science China(Information Sciences)2021,64,10:12
2Sodium fluoride induces apoptosis through reactive oxygen species-mediated endoplasmic reticulum stress pathway in Sertoli cells显示文摘Excessive fluoride exposure is known to contribute to reproductive system dysfunction,ultimately leading to pathological damage and apoptosis in cells. Although both oxidative and endoplasmic reticulum(ER) stresses have been implicated in fluorosis, the signaling pathways and their roles in sodium fluoride(Na F)-induced apoptosis of Sertoli cells have been sparsely described. In this study, oxidative damage, ER stress, and apoptosis were analyzed after Sertoli cells were treated with varying doses of Na F for 24 hr. Moreover, the antioxidant N-acetylcysteine(NAC) and pro-apoptotic transcription factor CHOP knockdown were used to clarify the precise interplay between reactive oxygen species(ROS), ER stress and their roles in NaF-induced apoptosis in Sertoli cells. The present study indicated that NaF significantly decreased cell viability and induced apoptosis in Sertoli cells. In addition, NaF exposure facilitated the accumulation of ROS and increased nuclear translocation of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2) in Sertoli cells. Treatment with NAC caused remarkable recovery from these NaF-induced responses. Meanwhile, excessive NaF triggered ER stress as evidenced by up-regulated glucose-regulated protein 78 k Da(GRP78), PKR-like ER kinase(PERK), phosphorylation of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2α(p-eI F2α) and CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein-homologous protein(CHOP), without affecting total eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2α(e IF2α). NAC effectively blocked the activation of ER stress, suggesting that Na F-induced ROS is an early event that triggers ER stress. 3Detection of ALK translocation in non-small cell lung carcinoma(NSCLC) and its clinicopathological significance using the Ventana immunohistochemical staining method: a single-center large-scale investigation of 1,504 Chinese Han patients显示文摘Objective: The novel fully automated immunohistochemistry(IHC) assay-Ventana anaplastic lymphoma kinase(ALK)-D5F3 for screening ALK rearrangements has been approved by China's Food and Drug Administration in 2013, our previous study disclosed a highly specificity and sensitivity nearly 100%, and its efficacy needs to be evaluated in a large cohort of primary lung adenocarcinoma patients, and to compare clinicopathological features with ALK(+) and ALK(-) lung adenocarcinoma.Methods: A total of 1,504 consecutive surgical lung adenocarcinoma cases of Chinese Han population were collected and re-diagnosed according to the 2011 multidisciplinary classification of lung adenocarcinoma.Fully automated Ventana ALK-D5F3 IHC staining with a binary scoring was adopted to evaluate staining and correlated with clinicopathological characters, including age, sex, differentiation degree, histological subtype, lymph node metastasis, and clinical staging.ALK(+) patients were followed-up, and targeted therapy of ALKinhibitors was adopted and observed in patients with stage Ⅳ according to the NCCN guideline.Results: ALK positive adenocarcinomas were identified in 6.6% of the surgically resected 1,504 NSCLCs, and significantly younger than the negative group(P<0.05).Mucinous adenocarcinoma(28.2%) was determined to be predominant in ALK(+) cases, followed by the solid type(11.7%), specific type(6.8%), papillary type(5.6%), acinar type(5.5%), and lepidic type(3.1%), and the differences were statistically significant(χ~2=42.011, P<0.05).ALK(+) adenocarcinoma with lymph node metastasis(10.8%) were significantly higher than that without lymph node metastasis(4.5%)(χ~2=19.809, P<0.05); and ALK(+) in phase Ⅳ(20%) was significantly higher than phase Ⅲ(12.9%), phase Ⅱ(4.2%), phase Ⅰ(4.5%), and phase 0(0)(χ~2=36.068, P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression disclosed that patient age, AJCC staging, and histological mucinous subtype were correlated with ALK positive staining(OR=0.959, 1.578, 5.036, respectively).Sixty eight patients had followed-up results, five patients out of which primarily diagnosed or progressed into Stage Ⅳ benefited well from targeted therapy with Crizotinib.Conclusions: The ALK fusion protein was seen in 6.6% Chinese NSCLC patients, and mostly seen in younger, clinically higher staging, mucinous and solid predominant adenocarcinoma.Clinical trials in patients of Stage Ⅳ confirmed that ALK-D5F3 Ventana IHC is serviceable in screening ALK-positive candidates for molecular targeted therapy.Lin Yang Yun Ling Lei Guo Di Ma Xuemin Xue Bingning Wang Junling Li Jianming Ying 2016Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2016,28,5:8
4Optimal stimulation parameters for Renzhong (DU 26) electro-acupuncture for improving motor function in a rat model of middle cerebral artery occlusion显示文摘The selection of electro-acupuncture parameters remains poorly unified between clinical studies.The present study observed the effects of electro-acupuncturing Renzhong (DU 26) with different stimulation parameters on motor function recovery following middle artery occlusion injury in rats.Results showed an optimal stimulation parameter for Renzhong electro-acupuncture that was low frequency and mild current (2 Hz,1 mA) significantly improved cortical excitability and conductive function,and promoted recovery in a rat model of motor function in middle artery occlusion.Frequency had a greater impact than current or interaction,and played a critical role in electro-acupuncture therapy.Lin Han Shu Wang Jinquan Ma Wenping Yao Yan Shen Xuemin Shi 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,12:5

6FORMATION MECHANISMS AND CONTROL STRATEGIES FOR DIOXINS IN INCINERATION PROCESS OF MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTES显示文摘Dioxins, which are of the most toxic materials on the earth, are principal emitted from waste incineration process. The molecular structures, toxicity parameters, such as toxicity equivalency factor, tolerable daily intake and physic-chemical properties of dioxins are briefly summarized. Three formation mechanisms of dioxins in waste incineration process, namely as de novo synthesis, mechanisms involving small organic molecular as precursors and homogenous gas phase reaction mechanism are alto reviewed. The influencing factors for dioxins formation during waste incineration process are also discussed. Three major methods for reducing dioxins emission from waste incineration process are discussed based upon the formation mechanisms and influencing factors. 7Enzymatically-degradable hydrogel coatings on titanium for bacterial infection inhibition and enhanced soft tissue compatibility via a self-adaptive strategy显示文摘Ideal percutaneous titanium implants request both antibacterial ability and soft tissue compatibility.ZnO structure constructed on titanium has been widely proved to be helpful to combat pathogen contamination,but the biosafety of ZnO is always questioned.How to maintain the remarkable antibacterial ability of ZnO and efficiently reduce the corresponding toxicity is still challenging.Herein,a hybrid hydrogel coating was constructed on the fabricated ZnO structure of titanium,and the coating was proved to be enzymatically-degradable when bacteria exist.Then the antibacterial activity of ZnO was presented.When under the normal condition(no bacteria),the hydrogel coating was stable and tightly adhered to titanium.The toxicity of ZnO was reduced,and the viability of fibroblasts was largely improved.More importantly,the hydrogel coating provided a good buffer zone for cell ingrowth and soft tissue integration.The curbed Zn ion release was also proved to be useful to regulate fibroblast responses such as the expression of CTGF and COL-I.These results were also validated by in vivo studies.Therefore,this study proposed a valid self-adaptive strategy for ZnO improvement.Under different conditions,the sample could present different functions,and both the antibacterial ability and soft tissue compatibility were finely preserved.Jin Leng Ye He Zhang Yuan Bailong Tao Ke Li Chuanchuan Lin Kun Xu Maowen Chen Liangliang Dai Xuemin Li Tony Jun Huang Kaiyong Cai 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,12:2
