1Effects of Yulangsan polysaccharide on monoamine neurotransmitters, adenylate cyclase activity and brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression in a mouse model of depression induced by unpredictable chronic mild stress显示文摘The present study established a mouse model of depression induced by unpredictable chronic mild stress. The model mice were treated with Yulangsan polysaccharide (YLSPS; 150, 300 and 600 mg/kg) for 21 days, and compared with fluoxetine-treated and normal control groups. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, radioimmunity and immunohistochemical staining showed that following treatment with YLSPS (300 and 600 mg/kg), monoamine neurotransmitter levels, prefrontal cortex adenylate cyclase activity and hippocampal brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression were significantly elevated, and depression-like behaviors were improved. Open-field and novelty-suppressed feeding tests showed that mouse activity levels were increased and feeding latency was shortened following treatment. 2Key gene and protein changes in the beta-amyloid pathway following Longyanshen polysaccharides treatment in a mouse model of Alzheimer's disease显示文摘BACKGROUND:During onset and development of Alzheimer's disease,β-amyloid(Aβ) precursor protein(APP),β-site amyloid precursor protein cleaving enzyme(BACE),andβ-amyloid are key genes and proteins in the Aβpathway,and over-expression of these genes can lead to Aβdeposition in the brain. OBJECTIVE:To observe the influence of Longyanshen polysaccharides on expression of BACE, APP,and Aβin the senescence-accelerated mouse prone/8(SAMP8) brain,and to compare these effects with huperzine A treatment. DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:A randomized,controlled,neurobiochemical experiment was performed at the Department of Pharmacology and Scientific Experimental Center of Guangxi Medical University from September 2005 to January 2008. MATERIALS:Longyanshen polysaccharides powder was extracted from the dried slices of the medicinal plant Longyanshen.The active component,Longyanshen polysaccharides,was provided by the Department of Pharmacology,Guangxi Medical University;huperzine A was purchased from Yuzhong Drug Manufactory,China. METHODS:Healthy SAMP8 mice were used to establish a model of Alzheimer's disease.A total of 50 SAMP8 mice were randomly assigned to 5 groups(n = 10):SAMP8,huperzine A,low-,middle-, and high-dose polysaccharides.In addition,10 senescence-accelerated mouse resistant 1(SAMR1) mice were selected as normal controls.SAMP8 and SAMR1 mice were administered 30 mL/kg normal saline;the huperzine A group was administered 0.02 mg/kg huperzine A;the low-,middle-, and high-dose polysaccharides groups were respectively administered 45,90,and 180 mg/kg Longyanshen polysaccharides.Each group was treated by intragastric administration,once per day, for 50 consecutive days. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:One hour after the final administration,immunohistochemical analysis was used to determine Aβexpression in the cortex and hippocampus of SAMP8 mice. Reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction was used to determine mRNA levels of BACE and APP in SAMP8 brain tissue. RESULTS:Compared with the SAMR1 group,Aβexpression in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus,as well as expression of BACE,APP mRNA in the brain was significantly increased in the SAMP8 group(P<0.05-0.01).Compared with the SAMP8 group,Aβexpression,as well as BACE and APP mRNA expression,were significantly decreased in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus of huperzine A and low-,middle-,and high-dose polysaccharides groups(P<0.05-0.01).In particular,the effect of high-dose polysaccharides was the most significant(P<0.05-0.01). 7Data-driven Product Functional Confguration:Patent Data and Hypergraph显示文摘The product functional confguration(PFC)is typically used by frms to satisfy the individual requirements of customers and is realized based on market analysis.This study aims to help frms analyze functions and realize functional confgurations using patent data.This study frst proposes a patent-data-driven PFC method based on a hypergraph network.It then constructs a weighted network model to optimize the combination of product function quantity and object from the perspective of big data,as follows:(1)The functional knowledge contained in the patent is extracted.(2)The functional hypergraph is constructed based on the co-occurrence relationship between patents and applicants.(3)The function and patent weight are calculated from the patent applicant’s perspective and patent value.(4)A weight calculation model of the PFC is developed.(5)The weighted frequent subgraph algorithm is used to obtain the optimal function combination list.This method is applied to an innovative design process of a bathroom shower.The results indicate that this method can help frms detach optimal function candidates and develop a multifunctional product.Wenguang Lin Xiaodong Liu Renbin Xiao 2022Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2022,35,4:1

11Levodopa methyl ester increases nerve growth factor expression in visual cortex area 17 in a feline model of strabismic amblyopia显示文摘In the present study, a feline model of strabismic amblyopia was established during a sensitive developmental period, and the influence of levodopa methyl ester and levodopa on nerve growth factor expression in the visual cortex (area 17) was compared. Pattern visual-evoked potential and immunohistochemistry results showed that levodopa methyl ester and levodopa treatment shortened P100 wave latency, increased P100 amplitude, and increased the number of endogenous nerve growth factor-positive cells in visual cortex levels. 12Sidiming attenuates morphine withdrawal syndrome and nitric oxide (synthase) levels in morphine-dependent rats and rhesus monkeys显示文摘The present study analyzed the effects of Sidiming, a Chinese herbal compound, on withdrawal syndrome, body weight loss, and serum levels of nitric oxide and its synthase in morphine-dependent rats and rhesus monkeys. These effects were compared with clonidine, an active control drug used for clinical treatment. Results showed that 4 and 8 g/kg Sidiming, respectively, significantly suppressed morphine withdrawal syndrome and reduced body mass loss in morphine-dependent rats. In addition, 2.4 and 4.8 g/kg Sidiming, respectively, significantly attenuated withdrawal syndrome in rhesus monkeys. High-dose Sidiming (8 g/kg in rats and 4.8 g/kg in rhesus monkeys) led to significantly inhibited serum levels of nitric oxide and its synthase in morphine-dependent rats and rhesus monkeys, which were greater than clonidine.
