Evaluation of Latest TMPA and CMORPH Precipitation Products with Independent Rain Gauge Observation Networks over High-latitude and Low-latitude Basins in China显示文摘The Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission(TRMM) Multi-satellite Precipitation Analysis(TMPA) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration(NOAA) Climate Prediction Center(CPC) morphing technique(CMORPH) are two important multi-satellite precipitation products in TRMM-era and perform important functions in GPM-era. Both TMPA and CMORPH systems simultaneously upgraded their retrieval algorithms and released their latest version of precipitation data in 2013. In this study, the latest TMPA and CMORPH products(i.e., Version-7 real-time TMPA(T-rt) and gauge-adjusted TMPA(T-adj), and Version-1.0 real-time CMORPH(C-rt) and Version-1.0 gauge-adjusted CMORPH(C-adj)) are evaluated and intercompared by using independent rain gauge observations for a 12-year(2000–2011) period over two typical basins in China with different geographical and climate conditions. Results indicate that all TMPA and CMORPH products tend to overestimate precipitation for the high-latitude semiarid Laoha River Basin and underestimate it for the low-latitude humid Mishui Basin. Overall, the satellite precipitation products exhibit superior performance over Mishui Basin than that over Laoha River Basin. The C-adj presents the best performance over the high-latitude Laoha River Basin, whereas T-adj showed the best performance over the low-latitude Mishui Basin. The two gauge-adjusted products demonstrate potential in water resource management. However, the accuracy of two real-time satellite precipitation products demonstrates large variability in the two validation basins. The C-rt reaches a similar accuracy level with the gauge-adjusted satellite precipitation products in the high-latitude Laoha River Basin, and T-rt performs well in the low-latitude Mishui Basin. The study also reveals that all satellite precipitation products obviously overestimate light rain amounts and events over Laoha River Basin, whereas they underestimate the amount and events over Mishui Basin. The findings of the precision characteristics associated with the latest TMPA and CMORPH precipitation products at different basins will offer satellite precipitation users an enhanced understanding of the applicability of the latest TMPA and CMORPH for water resource management, hydrologic process simulation, and hydrometeorological disaster prediction in other similar regions in China. The findings will also be useful for IMERG algorithm development and update in GPM-era. | JIANG Shanhu REN Liliang YONG Bin HONG Yang YANG Xiaoli YUAN Fei | 2016 | Chinese Geographical Science2016,26,4: | 10
High-efficiency forming processes for complex thin-walled titanium alloys components: state-of-the-art and perspectives显示文摘Complex thin-walled titanium alloy components play a key role in the aircraft, aerospace and marine industries, offering the advantages of reduced weight and increased thermal resistance. The geometrical complexity, dimensional accuracy and in-service properties are essential to fulfill the high-performance standards required in new transportation systems, which brings new challenges to titanium alloy forming technologies.Traditional forming processes, such as superplastic forming or hot pressing, cannot meet all demands of modern applications due to their limited properties, low productivity and high cost. This has encouraged industry and research groups to develop novel high-efficiency forming processes.Hot gas pressure forming and hot stamping-quenching technologies have been developed for the manufacture of tubular and panel components, and are believed to be the cut-edge processes guaranteeing dimensional accuracy, microstructure and mechanical properties. This article intends to provide a critical review of high-efficiency titanium alloy forming processes, concentrating on latest investigations of controlling dimensional accuracy, microstructure and properties. The advantages and limitations of individual forming process are comprehensively analyzed, through which, future research trends of high-efficiency forming are identified including trends in process integration, processing window design, full cycle and multi-objective optimization. This review aims to provide a guide for researchers and process designers on the manufacture of thin-walled titanium alloy components whilst achieving high dimensional accuracy and satisfying performance properties with high efficiency and low cost. | Kehuan Wang Liliang Wang Kailun Zheng Zhubin He Denis J Politis Gang Liu Shijian Yuan | 2020 | International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing2020,2,3: | 10
Numerical simulation of mould filling process for pressure plate and valve handle in LFC显示文摘In lost foam casting (LFC), the distribution of polymer beads during the bead filling process is not uniform, and the collision between polymer beads determines the distribution of two-phase flow of gas and solid. The interaction between the gas and solid phases reveals as coupling effect of the force that gas exerts on particles or vice versa, or that among particles. The gas-solid flow in filling process is nonlinearity, which makes the coupling effect an essential point to carry out a simulation properly. Therefore, information of each particle's motion is important for acquiring the law of filling process. In bead filling process, compressed air is pressed into mold cavity, and discharged from gas vent, creating a pressure difference between outer and inner space near the gas vent. This pressure difference directly changes the spatial distribution and motion trace of gas and solid phases. In this paper, Discrete Element Method (DEM) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) are employed to simulate the fluid dynamic character based on Newton's Third Law of Motion. The simulation results of some casting products such as pressure plate and valve handle are compared with the result obtained from practical experiment in order to test the feasibility of DEM. The comparison shows that this DEM method can be a very promising tool in the mould filling simulation of beads' movement. | Jiang Junxia Li Qinliang Wu Zhichao Chen Liliang | 2010 | China Foundry2010,7,4: | 9

Peripheral CD4^(+) T cell signatures in predicting the responses to anti-PD-1/PD-L1 monotherapy for Chinese advanced non-small cell lung cancer显示文摘Limited benefit population of immune checkpoint inhibitors makes it urgent to screen predictive biomarkers for stratifying the patients.Herein,we have investigated peripheral CD4^(+) T cell signatures in advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)patients receiving anti-PD-1/PD-L1 treatments. It was found that the percentages of IFN-γand IL-17A secreting naïve CD4^(+) T cells(Tn),and memory CD4^(+) T cells(Tm)expressing PD-1,PD-L1 and CTLA-4 were significantly higher in responder(R)than non-responder(NonR)NSCLC patients associated with a longer progression free survival(PFS).Logistic regression analysis revealed that the baseline IFN-γ-producing CD4^(+) Tn cells and PD-1^(+)CD4^(+) Tm cells were the most significant signatures with the area under curve(AUC)value reaching 0.849.This was further validated in another anti-PD-1 monotherapy cohort.Conversely, high percentage of CTLA-4^(+)CD4^(+) Tm cells was associated with a shorter PFS in patients receiving anti-PD-L1 monotherapy. Our study therefore elucidates the significance of functional CD4^(+) Tn and Tm subpopulations before the treatment in predicting the responses to anti-PD-1 treatment in Chinese NSCLC patients. The fact that there display distinct CD4^(+) T cell signatures in the prediction to anti-PD-1 and anti-PD-L1 monotherapy from our study provides preliminary evidence on the feasibility of anti-PD-1 and anti-PD-L1 combination therapy for advanced NSCLC patients. | Liliang Xia Hui Wang Mingjiao Sun Yi Yang Chengcheng Yao Sheng He Huangqi Duan Weimin Xia Ruiming Sun Yaxian Yao Zhiwei Chen Qiong Zhao Hong Li Shun Lu Ying Wang | 2021 | Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,10: | 7
Kinetic characteristics of liquid phase sintering of mechanically activated W-15wt%Cu powder显示文摘The kinetic characteristics of W grain growth operated by diffusion controlled Oswald ripening (DOR) during liquid phase sintering were studied. A liquid phase sintering of W-15wt%Cu was carried out by pushing compacts into a furnace at the moment when the temperature increased to 1340°C for different sintering times. The results show that liquid phase sintering produces the compacts with considerably low relative density and inversely, rather high homogeneity. On the basis of the data extracted from the SEM images, the kinetic equation of W grain growth, G n = G 0n+ kt, is determined in which the grain growth exponent n is 3 and the grain growth rate constant k is 0.15 μm3/s. The cumulative normalized grain size distributions produced by different sintering times show self-similar. The cumulative distribution function is extracted from the curves by non-linear fitting. In addition, the sintering kinetic characteristics of W-15wt%Cu compacts were also investigated. | Zhigang Li Chengchang Jia Yuntao He Liliang Chen | 2006 | Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2006,13,4: | 7
Using finite difference method to simulate casting thermal stress显示文摘Thermal stress simulation can provide a scientific reference to eliminate defects such as crack, residual stress centralization and deformation etc.,caused by thermal stress during casting solidification. To study the thermal stress distribution during casting process,a unilateral thermal-stress coupling model was employed to simulate 3D casting stress using Finite Difference Method(FDM),namely all the traditional thermal-elastic-plastic equations are numerically and differentially discrete.A FDM/FDM numerical simulation system was developed to analyze temperature and stress fields during casting solidification process. Two practical verifications were carried out,and the results from simulation basically coincided with practical cases. The results indicated that the FDM/FDM stress simulation system can be used to simulate the formation of residual stress, and to predict the occurrence of hot tearing.Because heat transfer and stress analysis are all based on FDM,they can use the same FD model, which can avoid the matching process between different models, and hence reduce temperature-load transferring errors. This approach makes the simulation of fluid flow, heat transfer and stress analysis unify into one single model. | Liao Dunming Zhang Bin Zhou Jianxin Liu Ruixiang Chen Liliang | 2011 | China Foundry2011,8,2: | 6

Numerical Simulation of Solidification Microstructure and Effects of Phase-field Parameters on Grain Growth Morphologies显示文摘By a simple phase field model, a series of numerical simulations of solidification microstructure was performed to show a rich variety of dendritic patterns. At the same time, the relation between the morphology of grain growth and some parameters including the strength of anisotropy, dimensionless latent heat and the size of initial solid zone was studied. It is for the first time that patterns of grain growth were associated with the size of initial solid zone, which is an interesting issue. The possible reason for this may be that variation in the size of initial solid zone may bring about fluctuation of the interface energy, making the interface unstable. | Jingfeng LIU+, Ruixiang LIU and Liliang CHEN Research Studio of Solidification Simulation, College of Materials Science and Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan 430074, China | 2005 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2005,21,6: | 4
Construction of a metastasis-associated gene subtracted cDNA library of human colorectal carcinoma by suppression subtraction hybridization显示文摘AIM: To construct a differentially-expressed gene subtracted cDNA library from two colorectal carcinoma (CRC) cell lines with different metastatic phenotypes by suppression subtractive hybridization.METHODS: Two cell lines of human CRC from the same patient were used. SW620 cell line showing highly metastatic potential was regarded as tester in the forward subtractive hybridization, while SW480 cell line with lowly metastatic potential was treated as tester in the reverse hybridization. Suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH) was employed to obtain cDNA fragments of differentially expressed genes for the metastasis of CRC. These fragments were ligated with T vectors, screened through the blue-white screening system to establish cDNA library.RESULTS: After the blue-white screening, 235 white clones were picked out from the positive-going hybridization and 232 from the reverse. PCR results showed that 200-700 bp inserts were seen in 98% and 91% clones from the forward and reverse hybridizations, respectively.CONCLUSIONS: A subtractive cDNA library of differentially expressed genes specific for metastasis of CRC can be constructed with SSH and T/A cloning techniques. | LiLiang Yan-QingDing XinLi Guang-ZhiYang JunXiao Li-ChunLu Jin-HuaZhang | 2004 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2004,10,9: | 4
Spark plasma sintering of high-toughness ZrO_2 materials doped with yttrium显示文摘Zirconia powders doped with yttrium prepared by special liquid-phase precipitation method were sintered by spark plasma sintering (SPS) to obtain high performance samples. The microstructure, phase composition, and mechanical properties of the samples were studied. The results of X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectrum, and transmission electron microscope (TEM) show that the phase is tetragonal. The powders with large surface area and high sintering activity, due to small crystallite size, could be densified at 1100°C. The highest relative density of the sample obtained at 1300°C is higher than 99% (the tetragonal phase is 6.08 g/cm3). The Hv and KIC are 13.76 GPa and 15.4 MPa·m1/2, respectively. | CHEN Liliang JIA Chengchang WANG Kaiming | 2008 | Rare Metals2008,27,5: | 3
Hydrological response to land use and land cover changes in a sub-watershed of West Liaohe River Basin,China显示文摘In recent years, the streamflow of the Laohahe Basin in China showed a dramatic decrease during the rainy season as a result of climate change and/or human activities. The objective of this work was to document significant streamflow changes caused by land use and land cover(LULC) changes and to quantify the impacts of the observed changes in Laohahe Basin. In the study area, the observed streamflow has been influenced by LULC changes, dams, and irrigation from rivers, industry, livestock and human consumption. Most importantly, the growth of population and gross domestic product(GDP) accompanied by the growth in industrial and agricultural activities, which led to LULC changes with increased residential land and cropland and decreased grassland since 2000s. Statistical methods and Variable Infiltration Capacity(VIC) hydrological model were used to estimate the effects of climate change and LULC changes on streamflow and evaportranspiration(ET). First, the streamflow data of the study area were divided into three sub-periods according to the Pettitt test. The hydrological process was then simulated by VIC model from 1964 to 2009. Furthermore, we compared the simulated results based on land use scenarios in 1989, 1999 and 2007, respectively for exploring the effect of LULC changes on the spatio-temporal distribution of streamflow and ET in the Laohahe Basin. The results suggest that, accompanied with climate change, the LULC changes and human water consumption appeared to be the most likely factors contributing to the significant reduction in streamflow in the Laohahe Basin by 64% from1999 to 2009. | XiaoLi YANG LiLiang REN Yi LIU DongLai JIAO ShanHu JIANG | 2014 | Journal of Arid Land2014,6,6: | 3
Orderly coexistence and accumulation models of conventional and unconventional hydrocarbons in Lower Permian Fengcheng Formation,Mahu sag,Junggar Basin显示文摘By using the latest geological, seismic, drilling and logging data, this article studies the basic conditions for the formation of the total petroleum system and the orderly coexisting characteristics and accumulation models of conventional&unconventional reservoirs in the Lower Permian Fengcheng Formation in the Junggar Basin.Controlled by thermal evolution, hydrocarbon generation and expulsion process of the high-quality source rocks in alkaline lake as well as the characteristics of multi-type reservoirs(conglomerate, sandstone, dolomite and shale),conventional structure-lithologic reservoirs and tight oil and shale oil reservoirs controlled by source-reservoir structure have been formed. On the plane, mature conventional reservoirs,medium-high mature tight oil,and medium-high mature shale oil reservoirs coexist orderly from the slope area around Mahu sag to the sag.Based on the orderly coexisting characteristics of conventional and unconventional reservoirs in the Fengcheng Formation,it is clear that oil and gas in the Fengcheng Formation accumulate continuously over a large area in three accumulation models:integrated source-reservoir,source-reservoir in close contact, and separated source-reservoir model. The three accumulation models differ in relationship between source-reservoir structure, reservoir lithology and spatial distribution, hydrocarbon migration, oil and gas type.It is pointed out that the conventional&unconventional oil and gas should be explored and developed as a whole to achieve an overall breakthrough of the total petroleum system. This study is expected to enrich the geological theory of oil and gas enrichment in continental basins and to provide an analogy for exploration and research in other hydrocarbon-rich sags. | ZHI Dongming TANG Yong HE Wenjun GUO Xuguang ZHENG Menglin HUANG Liliang | 2021 | Petroleum Exploration and Development2021,48,1: | 2
