1Geological Characteristics and Zircon U-Pb Dating of Volcanic Rocks from the Beizhan Iron Deposit in Western Tianshan Mountains, Xinjiang, NW China显示文摘The Beizhan large iron deposit located in the east part of the Awulale metallogenic belt in the western Tianshan Mountains is hosted in the Unit 2 of the Dahalajunshan Formation as lens, veinlets and stratoid, and both of the hanging wall and footwall are quartz-monzonite; the dip is to the north with thick and high-grade ore bodies downwards. Ore minerals are mainly magnetite with minor sulfides, such as pyrite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite and sphalerite. Skarnization is widespread around the ore bodies, and garnet, diopside, wollastonite, actinolite, epidote, uralite, tourmaline sericite and calcite are ubiquitous as gangues. Radiating outwards from the center of the ore body the deposit can be classified into skarn, calcite, serpentinite and marble zones. LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating of the rhyolite and dacite from the Dahalajunshan Formation indicates that they were formed at 301.3±0.8 Ma and 303.7±0.9 Ma, respectively, which might have been related to the continental arc magmatism during the late stage of subduction in the western Tianshan Mountains. Iron formation is genetically related with volcanic eruption during this interval. The Dahalajunshan Formation and the quartz-monzonite intrusion jointly control the distribution of ore bodies. 7Effects of Tx-100-SDS on crystal growth of calcium carbonate in reverse microemulsion solution显示文摘Syntheses of CaCO3 crystals in reverse microemulsion solutions containing 1-(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbu- tyl)-4-hydroxypolyethoxybenzene (Tx-100), sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and their equimolar mixture were carried out at room temperature respectively. The crystal phase of CaCO3 is changed from calcite at low concentrations to vaterite at high concentrations of SDS and Tx-100. From rods at low concentration to olivary spheres at high concentration, SDS can influence the morphology of CaCO3 significantly, while almost no such effect for Tx-100. Hollow spheres, olivary spheres and even two fused olivary spheres of CaCO3 were produced at different concentrations of Tx-100-SDS, and the variation of crystal phase is opposite to that in the presence of SDS or Tx-100 alone. The effects of interaction of SDS with Tx-100 on morphology and crystal phase of CaCO3 were discussed. 8Direct Synthesis of Zn_(1-x)Cd_xS (0≤x≤1) Quantum Dots in Aqueous Solution and Application in Biology显示文摘A simple procedure was presented to directly synthesize Zn1-xCdxS (0≤x≤1) quantum dots (QDs) in aqueous solution. QDs' structures and properties were characterized by TEM (transmission electron microscopy), XRD (X-ray diffraction) and fluorescence microscopy. For those as-synthesized Zn1-xCdxS QDs, when the molar ratio between Zn and Cd changed from 1 to 0, its photoluminescence (PL) emission peak shifted from 430 nm to 675 nm. PL emission quantum efficiency was up to 15%.
