| 1 | The Qitai radio telescope显示文摘This study presents a general outline of the Qitai radio telescope(QTT)project.Qitai,the site of the telescope,is a county of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China,located in the east Tianshan Mountains at an elevation of about 1800 m.The QTT is a fully steerable,Gregorian-type telescope with a standard parabolic main reflector of 110 m diameter.The QTT has adopted an umbrella support,homology-symmetric lightweight design.The main reflector is active so that the deformation caused by gravity can be corrected.The structural design aims to ultimately allow high-sensitivity observations from 150 MHz up to115 GHz.To satisfy the requirements for early scientific goals,the QTTwill be equipped with ultra-wideband receivers and large field-of-view multi-beam receivers.A multi-function signal-processing system based on RFSo C and GPU processor chips will be developed.These will enable the QTT to operate in pulsar,spectral line,continuum and Very Long Baseline Interferometer(VLBI)observing modes.Electromagnetic compatibility(EMC)and radio frequency interference(RFI)control techniques are adopted throughout the system design.The QTT will form a world-class observational platform for the detection of lowfrequency(nano Hertz)gravitational waves through pulsar timing array(PTA)techniques,pulsar surveys,the discovery of binary black-hole systems,and exploring dark matter and the origin of life in the universe.The QTT will also play an important role in improving the Chinese and international VLBI networks,allowing high-sensitivity and high-resolution observations of the nuclei of distant galaxies and gravitational lensing systems.Deep astrometric observations will also contribute to improving the accuracy of the celestial reference frame.Potentially,the QTT will be able to support future space activities such as planetary exploration in the solar system and to contribute to the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. | Na Wang Qian Xu Jun Ma Zhiyong Liu Qi Liu Hailong Zhang Xin Pei Maozheng Chen Richard N.Manchester Kejia Lee Xingwu Zheng Hans J.Kärcher Wulin Zhao Hongwei Li Dongwei Li Martin Süss Matthias Reichert Zhongyi Zhu Congsi Wang Mingshuai Li Rui Li Ning Li Guljaina Kazezkhan Wenming Yan Gang Wu Lang Cui Ming Zhang Haitao Li | 2023 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,8: | 14 |

| 3 | Time-dependent matrix metalloproteinases and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases expression change in fusarium solani keratitis显示文摘AIM: To investigate matrix metalloproteinases(MMPs)and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases(TIMPs)expression during the progress of fusarium solani(F.solani) keratitis in a rat model.· METHODS: A rat model of F.solani keratitis was produced using corneal scarification and a hand-made contact lens. MMPs and TIMPs expressiond were explored in this rat model of F.solani keratitis using real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR) and DIF.GM6001(400 μmol/m L) was used to treat infected corneas. The keratitis duration, amount and area of corneal neovascularization(CNV) were evaluated.·RESULTS: MMP-3 expression was 66.3 times higher in infected corneas compared to normal corneas. MMP-8,-9,and-13 expressions were significantly upregulated in the mid-period of the infection, with infected- to-normal ratios of 4.03, 39.86, and 5.94, respectively. MMP-2 and-7expressions increased in the late period, with the infected-to-normal ratios of 5.94 and 16.22, respectively.TIMP-1 expression was upregulated in the early period,and it was 43.17 times higher in infected compared to normal corneas, but TIMP-2,-3, and-4 expressions were mildly downregulated or unchanged. | 4 | Role of juvenile hormone receptor Methoprene-tolerant 1 in silkworm larval brain development and domestication显示文摘The insect brain is the central part of the neurosecretory system,which controls morphology,physiology,and behavior during the insect’s lifecycle.Lepidoptera are holometabolous insects,and their brains develop during the larval period and metamorphosis into the adult form.As the only fully domesticated insect,the Lepidoptera silkworm Bombyx mori experienced changes in larval brain morphology and certain behaviors during the domestication process.Hormonal regulation in insects is a key factor in multiple processes.However,how juvenile hormone(JH)signals regulate brain development in Lepidoptera species,especially in the larval stage,remains elusive.We recently identified the JH receptor Methoprene tolerant 1(Met1)as a putative domestication gene.How artificial selection on Met1 impacts brain and behavioral domestication is another important issue addressing Darwin’s theory on domestication.Here,CRISPR/Cas9-mediated knockout of Bombyx Met1 caused developmental retardation in the brain,unlike precocious pupation of the cuticle.At the whole transcriptomelevel,theecdysteroid(20-hydroxyecdysone,20 E)signaling and downstream pathways were overactivated in the mutant cuticle but not in the brain.Pathways related to cell proliferation and specialization processes,such as extracellular matrix(ECM)-receptor interaction and tyrosine metabolism pathways,were suppressed in the brain.Molecular evolutionary analysis and in vitro assay identified an amino acid replacement located in a novel motif under positive selection in B.mori,which decreased transcriptional binding activity.The B.mori MET1 protein showed a changed structure and dynamic features,as well as a weakened co-expression gene network,compared with B.mandarina.Based on comparative transcriptomic analyses,we proposed a pathway downstream of JH signaling(i.e.,tyrosine metabolism pathway)that likely contributed to silkworm larval brain development and domestication and highlighted the importance of the biogenic amine system in larval evolution during silkworm domestication. | Yong Cui Zu-Lian Liu Cen-Cen Li Xiang-Min Wei Yong-Jian Lin Lang You Zi-Dan Zhu Hui-Min Deng Qi-Li Feng Yong-Ping Huang Hui Xiang | 2021 | Zoological Research2021,42,5: | 2 |
| 5 | A framework for investigating the air quality variation characteristics based on the monitoring data: Case study for Beijing during 2013–2016显示文摘In this study, an analysis framework based on the regular monitoring data was proposed for investigating the annual/inter-annual air quality variation and the contributions from different factors(i.e., seasons, pollution periods and airflow directions), through a case study in Beijing from 2013 to 2016. The results showed that the annual mean concentrations(MC) of PM_(2.5), SO_2, NO_2 and CO had decreased with annual mean ratios of 7.5%, 28.6%, 4.6%and 15.5% from 2013 to 2016, respectively. Among seasons, the MC in winter contributed the largest fractions(25.8%~46.4%) to the annual MC, and the change of MC in summer contributed most to the inter-annual MC variation(IMCV) of PM_(2.5) and NO2. For different pollution periods, gradually increase of frequency of S-1(PM_(2.5), 0~ 75 μg/m^3) made S-1 become the largest contributor(28.8%) to the MC of PM_(2.5) in 2016, it had a negative contribution(-13.1%) to the IMCV of PM_(2.5); obvious decreases of frequencies of heavily polluted and severely polluted dominated(44.7% and 39.5%) the IMCV of PM_(2.5). For different airflow directions, the MC of pollutants under the south airflow had the most significant decrease(22.5%~62.5%), and those decrease contributed most to the IMCV of PM_(2.5)(143.3%),SO2(72.0%), NO_2(55.5%) and CO(190.3%); the west airflow had negative influences to the IMCV of PM_(2.5), NO_2 and CO.
