1The impact of meteorological changes from 2013 to 2017 on PM2.5 mass reduction in key regions in China显示文摘In 2013,China issued the'Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Air Pollution'('Ten Statements of Atmosphere')and implemented a series of pollution reduction measures from 2013 to 2017.In key regions of China,the mass concentrations of particulate matter with aerodynamic equivalent diameters less than 2.5μm(PM2.5)have dropped significantly.However,the contributions of meteorological changes to PM2.5 reduction are largely uncertain,which has attracted particular concern from the government and the public.Here,we investigated the impact of large-scale and boundary layer(BL)meteorological conditions on aerosol pollution and estimated the contributions of meteorological changes to PM2.5 reduction based on in-depth analysis and diagnosis of various observed meteorological elements and an integrated pollution-linked meteorological index(PLAM,which is approximately and linearly related to PM mass concentration).In this study,we found that the meteorological conditions worsened in 2014 and 2015 and improved in 2016 and 2017 relative to those in 2013 in key regions in China.In 2017 relative to 2013,only^5%(approximately 13%of the total PM2.5 decline)of the 39.6%reduction in PM2.5 mass concentrations can be attributed to meteorological changes in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH)region,and only^7%(approximately 20%of the total PM2.5 decline)of the 34.3%reduction can be attributable to meteorological changes in the Yangtze River Delta(YRD)region.Overall,the PM2.5 reduction due to meteorological improvement is much lower than the observed PM2.5 reduction in these areas,which indicates that emission reduction during the five-year implementation of the'Ten Statements of Atmosphere'is the dominant factor in the improvement in air quality.The changes in meteorology and climate are conducive to PM2.5 reduction but do not dominate the substantial improvement in air quality.Similar to the above regions,in the Pearl River Delta(PRD)region,the impact of meteorological changes on the annual averaged PM2.5 concentration from 2013 to2017 was relatively weak,and the PM2.5 reduction was mainly due to emission reductions.During winter 2017(January,February,and December of this year),the meteorological conditions improved-20%in the BTH region(observed total PM2.5reduction:40.2%)and-30%in the YRD region(observed total PM2.5 reduction:38.2%)relative to those in 2013,showing the meteorological factors played more important role in the decrease of PM2.5 in winter of these years in the two regions,respectively.The meteorological conditions in winter 2016 were 14%better than those in winter 2017,but the PM2.5 reduction in winter 2016 was still less than that in winter 2017,reinforcing the significant contributions of the increasing efforts to reduce PM2.5 emissions in 2017.The substantial progress of strict emission measures was also confirmed by a comparison of several persistent heavy aerosol pollution episodes(HPEs)with similar meteorological conditions.It is found that the decrease of PM2.5mass caused by emission reduction increases year by year,especially the decrease of PM2.5 concentration in 2016 and 2017.In China,HPEs mainly occur in winter,when meteorological conditions are approximately 40-100%worse than in other seasons.This worsening is partly due to the harbor effect of high topography,including downdrafts and the weak wind zone,and partly due to the increasingly stable regional BL structure caused by climate warming.For the formation of HPEs,it occurred under regional stagnant and stable conditions associated with upper-level circulation patterns,including the zonal westerly winds type and high-pressure ridges.After pollution formation,PM2.5 with mass accumulated to a certain degree can further worsen the BL meteorological conditions.The feedback effect associated with worsening conditions dominates PM2.5 mass explosive growth.In the context of high air pollutant emissions in China,unfavorable meteorological conditions are the necessary external conditions for the formation and accumulation of HPEs.Therefore,reducing aerosol pollution significantly during the earlier transport stage is critical in reducing persistent HPEs.Currently,even under favorable meteorological conditions,allowing emissions without restriction is also not advisable because aerosol pollution allowed to accumulate to a certain extent will significantly worsen the BL meteorological conditions and close the'meteorological channels'available for pollution dispersion.Xiaoye ZHANG Xiangde XU Yihui DING Yanju LIU Hengde ZHANG Yaqiang WANG Junting ZHONG 2019Science China Earth Sciences2019,62,12:42
2Traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome-related herbal prescriptions in treatment of malignant tumors显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the distribution characteristics of TCM syndromes and the related herbal prescriptions for malignant tumors (MT). METHODS: A clinical database of the TCM syndromes and the herbal prescriptions in treatment of 136 MT patients were established. The data were then analyzed using cluster and frequency analysis. RESULTS: According to the cluster analysis, the TCM syndromes in MT patients mainly included two patterns: deficiency of both Qi and Yin and internal accumulation of toxic heat. The commonly-prescribed herbs were Huangqi (Astraglus), Nüzhen-zi (Fructus Ligustri Lucidi), Lingzhi (Ganoderma Lucidum), Huaishan (Dioscorea Opposita), Xiakucao (Prunella Vulgaris), and Baihuasheshecao (Herba Hedyotidis). CONCLUSION: Deficiency of Qi and Yin is the primary syndrome of MT, and internal accumulation of toxic heat is the secondary syndrome. 3ENPP1/PC-1 Gene K121Q Polymorphism Is Associated with Obesity in European Adult Populations: Evidence from A Meta-Analysis Involving 24 324 Subjects显示文摘Objective Findings from the previous studies have suggested a relationship between ectonucleotide pyrophosphatase /phosphodiesterase 1 (ENPP‐1) or plasma cell membrane glycoprotein 1 (PC‐1) gene single nucleotide polymorphism (K121Q, rs1044498) and genetic susceptibility to obesity. However, such relationship is not reproduced by some currently available studies. In this context, the present study is aimed to quantitatively analyze the association of K121Q variant with obesity in all published case‐control studies in European adult populations. Methods Published literature from PubMed, EMBASE, and ISI web of science databases were retrieved. The studies evaluating the association of ENPP1/PC1 gene K121Q polymorphism with obesity were included, in which sufficient data were presented to calculate the odds ratio (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Results Ten case‐control studies meeting the inclusion criteria identified a total of 24,324 subjects including 11,372 obese and 12,952 control subjects. The meta‐analysis results showed a statistically significant association of K121Q with obesity [OR (95%CI): 1.25 (1.04‐1.52) P=0.021] under a recessive model of inheritance (QQ vs. KK+KQ) without heterogeneity or publication bias. 43D printed hierarchical spinel monolithic catalysts for highly efficient semi-hydrogenation of acetylene显示文摘Porous monolithic catalysts with high specific surface areas,which can not only facilitate heat/mass transfer,but also help to expose active sites,are highly desired in strongly exothermic or endothermic gas–solid phase reactions.In this work,hierarchical spinel monolithic catalysts with a porous woodpile architecture were fabricated via extrusion-based three-dimensional(3D)printing(direct ink writing,DIW in brief)of aluminate-intercalated layered double hydroxide(AI-LDH)followed by low temperature calcination.The intercalation of aluminate in LDH is found crucial to tailor the M^(2+)/Al^(3+)ratio,integrate LDH nanosheets into monolithic catalyst,and enable the conversion of LDH to spinel at the temperature as low as 500℃ with high specific surface areas(>350 m^(2)/g).The rapid mass/heat transfer resulted from the versatile 3D network at macroscale and the highly dispersed and fully exposed active sites benefited from the porous structure at microscale endow the 3D-printed Pd loaded spinel MgAlmixed metal oxide(3D-AI-Pd/MMO)catalyst with excellent catalytic performance in semi-hydrogenation of acetylene,achieving 100%conversion at 60℃ with more than 84%ethylene selectivity.Zijian Yuan Lu Liu Wei Ru Daojin Zhou Yun Kuang Junting Feng Bin Liu Xiaoming Sun 2022Nano Research2022,15,7:2

6Nonlinear optical absorption properties of InP nanowires and applications as a saturable absorber显示文摘Indium phosphide(InP)nanowires(NWs)have attracted significant attention due to their exotic properties that are different from the bulk counterparts,and have been widely used for light generation,amplification,detection,modulation,and switching,etc.Here,high-quality InP NWs were directly grown on a quartz substrate by the Au-nanoparticle assisted vapor-liquid-solid method.We thoroughly studied their nonlinear optical absorption properties at 1.06μm by the open-aperture Z-scan method.Interestingly,a transition phenomenon from satu-rable absorption(SA)to reverse saturable absorption(RSA)was observed with the increase of the incident laser intensity.In the analysis,we found that the effective nonlinear absorption cofficient(βeff-10^2 cm/MW)under the SA process was 3 orders of magnitude larger than that during the RSA processes.Furthermore,the SA proper-ties of InP NWs were experimentally verified by using them as a saturable absorber for a passively Q-switched Nd:YVO4 solid-state laser at 1.06μm,where the shortest pulse width of 462 ns and largest single pulse energy of 1.32μJ were obtained.Moreover,the ultrafast carrier relaxation dynamics were basically studied,and the intraband and inter-band ultrafast carrier relaxation times of 8.1 and 63.8 ps,respectively,were measured by a degenerate pump-probe method with the probe laser of 800 nm.These results well demonstrate the nonlinear optical absorption properties,which show the excellent light manipulating capabilities of InP NWs and pave a way for their applications in ultrafast nanophotonic devices.JUNTING LIU HONGKUN NIE BINGZHENG YAN KEJIAN YANG HE YANG VLADISLAV KHAYRUDINOV HARRI LIPSANEN BAITAO ZHANG JINGLIANG HE 2020Photonics Research2020,8,6:2

8Atmospheric Particle Hygroscopicity and the Influence by Oxidation State of Organic Aerosols in Urban Beijing显示文摘A hygroscopic tandem differentialmobility analyser(H-TDMA)was used to observe the sizeresolved hygroscopic characteristics of submicron particles in January and April 2018 in urban Beijing.The probability distribution of the hygroscopic growth factor(HGF-PDF)in winter and spring usually showed a bimodal pattern,with more hygroscopic mode(MH)being more dominant.The seasonal variation in particle hygroscopicity was related to the origin of air mass,which received polluted southerly air masses in spring and clean northwesterly air masses in winter.Particles showed stronger hygroscopic behaviour during heavy pollution episodes(HPEs)with elevated concentrations of secondary aerosols,especially higher mass fraction of nitrate,which were indicated using the PM2.5(particulate matter with diameter below 2.5μm)mass concentration normalised by CO mass concentration.The hygroscopic parameter(κ)values were calculated using H-TDMA(κhtdma)and chemical composition(κchem).The closure study showed thatκchem was overestimated in winter afternoon when compared withκhtdma,because the organic particle hygroscopic parameter(κorg)was overestimated in the calculations.It was influenced by the presence of a high concentration of hydrocarbon-like organic aerosol(HOA)with a weak water uptake ability.A positive relationship was observed betweenκorg and the ratio of oxygenated organic aerosol(OOA)and HOA,thereby indicating that the strong oxidation state enhanced the hygroscopicity of the particles.This study revealed the effect of local emission sources and secondary aerosol formation processes on particle hygroscopicity,which is of great significance for understanding the pollution formation mechanism in the North China Plain.Sinan Zhang Xiaojing Shen Junying Sun Yangmei Zhang Xiaoye Zhang Can Xia Xinyao Hu Junting Zhong Jialing Wang Shuo Liu 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,2:1

11sRNAanno-a database repository of uniformly annotated small RNAs in plants显示文摘Small RNAs(sRNAs)are essential regulatory molecules,and there are three major sRNA classes in plants:microRNAs(miRNAs),phased small interfering RNAs(phased siRNAs or phasiRNAs),and heterochromatic siRNAs(hc-siRNAs).Excluding miRNAs,the other two classes are not well annotated or available in public databases for most sequenced plant genomes.We performed a comprehensive sRNA annotation of 143 plant species that have fully sequenced genomes and next-generation sequencing sRNA data publicly available.The results are available via an online repository called sRNAanno(www.plantsRNAs.org).Compared with other public plant sRNA databases,we obtained was much more miRNA annotations,which are more complete and reliable because of the consistent and highly stringent criteria used in our miRNA annotations.sRNAanno also provides free access to genomic information for>22,721 PHAS loci and>22 million hc-siRNA loci annotated from these 143 plant species.Both miRNA and PHAS loci can be easily browsed to view their main features,and a collection of archetypal trans-acting siRNA 3(TAS3)genes were annotated separately for quick access.To facilitate the ease of sRNA annotation,sRNAanno provides free service for sRNA annotations to the community.In summary,the sRNAanno database is a great resource to facilitate genomic and genetic research on plant small RNAs.Chengjie Chen Jiawei Li Junting Feng Bo Liu Lei Feng Xiaoling Yu Guanliang Li Jixian Zhai Blake C.Meyers Rui Xia 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:1
12Synthesis of Donor-Acceptorπ-Conjugated Macrocycles by Post-Functionalization显示文摘Main observation and conclusion In this paper,two novel donor-acceptor(D-A)macrocyclic compounds 5 and 7 were successfully synthesized by post-functionalization of a planar dimer macrocycle(1)and a highly twisted trimer macrocycle(2),respectively,via controllable oxidation of methoxy groups and condensation between diketones and phenylenediamine in succession.Compared with unembellished 9,10-dimethoxyphenanthrene,the resultant dibenzo[a,c]phenazine motif is electron-deficient rather than electron-rich,yielding two D-Aπ-conjugated macrocycles with more contractive energy gaps.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations further support the unequivocal evidence of the D-A properties of macrocycles 5 and 7.The difference of their photophysical properties was investigated by the aid of ultraviolet-visible absorption and fluorescence spectrophotometers.Furthermore,the stacking patterns of 7 and its contrastπ-conjugated macrocycle trimer(2)were compared via the analysis of X-ray single crystal,in which the electron-deficient dibenzo[a,c]phenazine unit provides extra interaction sites,resulting in orderly arrangement of 7 in the solid state.Junting Wang Qingyun Wan Junzhi Liu 2021Chinese Journal of Chemistry2021,39,10:1

16Recent Advances in Constructing Interfacial Active Catalysts Based on Layered Double Hydroxides and Their Catalytic Mechanisms显示文摘The interaction between the metal and the support of supported metal catalysts, which are widely used in industry, is the primary focus of the study of such catalysts. With the developing understanding of the metal–support interaction, the intrinsic factor that influences the catalytic performance has been determined to be the structure of interfacial sites. Layered double hydroxides(LDHs, a class of two-dimensional layered anion clay) possess several unique characteristics, such as the following:(1) tunable elemental component, homogeneous distribution of metal cations.(2) anchoring eff ect.(3) multiple layered structure for exfoliation or intercalation and special memory eff ect;and(4) internal/external confinement eff ects during topological transformation. Taking LDHs and their derivatives as precursors or supports shows superior advantages in designing interfacial active catalysts with tunable properties. 18Exploration about superior anti-counterfeiting ability of Sm^(3+) doped KSr_(2)Nb_(5)O_(15) photochromic ceramics:Origin and atomic-scale mechanism显示文摘Reversible luminescence modulation behavior upon the photochromic effect endows the photochromic ceramics with 3reat potential in anti-counterfeiting and data storage applications.Here,Sm^(3+)-doped KSr_(2)Nb_(5)O_(15) photochromic ceramics exhibit superior anti-counterfeiting ability:good covertness and considerable modulation ratio of luminescent emission intensity after photochromic reaction.The results show that the photochromism originated from oxygen and cation vacancies,which were directly identified by electron paramagnetic resonance and positron annihilation lifetime spectra.Unexpectedly,oxygen vacancies work more effectively than cation vacancies during photochromic reactions.Moreover,the extraordinary anti-counterfeiting ability was attributed to the high energy transfer rate,which was particularly caused by the short mean distance below 1 nm between the Sm^(3+) and vacancies.The work here has provided atomic-scale structural evidence and made a progress in understanding the photochromic origins and mechanism in color-center theory.Shuyao Cao Jiatong Zhu Qian Chen Junting Liu Changying Wu Leilei Li Jie Xu Haixue Yan Feng Gao 2022Journal of Materiomics2022,8,1:1
