| 1 | Ideal cardiovascular health and incidence of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease among Chinese adults:the China-PAR project显示文摘Existing evidence on the relationship between cardiovascular health(CVH) metrics and cardiovascular disease(CVD) was primarily derived from western populations. We aimed to evaluate the benefits of ideal CVH metrics on preventing incident atherosclerotic CVD(ASCVD) in Chinese population. This study was conducted among 93,987 adults from the China-PAR project(Prediction for ASCVD Risk in China) who were followed up until 2015. Cox proportional hazard regression models were used to estimate the hazard ratios(HRs) and their corresponding 95% confidence intervals(CIs) of CVH metrics for the risk of ASCVD, including coronary heart disease(CHD), stroke and ASCVD death. We further estimated the population-attributable risk percentage(PAR%) of these metrics in relation to each outcome. We observed gradient inverse associations between the number of ideal CVH metrics and ASCVD incidence. Compared with participants having ≤2 ideal CVH metrics, the multivariable-adjusted HRs(95% CIs) of ASCVD for those with 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 ideal CVH metrics were 0.83(0.74–0.93), 0.66(0.59–0.74), 0.55(0.48–0.61), 0.44(0.38–0.50) and 0.24(0.18–0.31), respectively(P for trend <0.0001). Approximately 62.1% of total ASCVD, 38.7% of CHD, 66.4% of stroke, and 60.5% of ASCVD death were attributable to not achieving all the seven ideal CVH metrics. After adjusting effects of ideal health factors, having four ideal health behaviors could independently bring adults health benefits in preventing 17.4% of ASCVD, 18.0% of CHD, 16.7% of stroke, and 10.1% of ASCVD death. Among all the seven CVH metrics, to keep with ideal blood pressure(BP) implied the largest public health gains against various ASCVD events(PAR% between 33.0% and 47.2%), while ideal diet was the metric most difficult to be achieved in the long term. Our study indicates that the more ideal CVH metrics adults have, the less ASCVD burden there is in China. | 2 | Changes in intestinal mucosal immune barrier in rats with endotoxemia显示文摘AIM:To investigate the dysfunction of the immunological barrier of the intestinal mucosa during endotox-emia and to elucidate the potential mechanism of this dysfunction.METHODS:Male Wistar rats were randomly distributed into two groups:control group and lipopolysaccharide(LPS)group.Endotoxemia was induced by a single caudal venous injection of LPS.Animals were sacrifi ced in batches 2,6,12 and 24 h after LPS infusion.The number of microfold(M)-cells,dendritic cells(DCs),CD4+ T cells,CD8+ T cells,regulatory T(Tr)cells and IgA+ B cells in the intestinal mucosa were counted after immunohistochemical staining.Apoptotic lympho-cytes were counted after TUNEL staining.The levels of interleukin(IL)-4,interferon(IFN)-γ and forkhead box P3(Foxp3)in mucosal homogenates were measured by ELISA.The secretory IgA(sIgA)content in the total protein of one milligram of small intestinal mucus was detected using a radioimmunological assay.RESULTS:This research demonstrated that LPS-induced endotoxemia results in small intestinal mucosa injury.The number of M-cells,DCs,CD8+ T cells,and IgA+ B cells were decreased while Tr cell and apoptotic lymphocyte numbers were increased signifi cantly.The number of CD4+ T cells increased in the early stages and then slightly decreased by 24 h.The level of IL-4 significantly increased in the early stages and then reversed by the end of the study period.The level of IFN-γ increased slightly in the early stages and then decreased markedly by the 24 h time point.Level of Foxp3 increased whereas sIgA level decreased.CONCLUSION:Mucosal immune dysfunction forms part of the intestinal barrier injury during endotoxemia.The increased number and function of Tr cells as well as lymphocyte apoptosis result in mucosal immunodefi ciency. | Chong Liu Ang Li Yi-Bing Weng Mei-Li Duan Bao-En Wang Shu-Wen Zhang | 2009 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2009,15,46: | 35 |

| 8 | Predicting lifetime risk for developing atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease in Chinese population:the China-PAR project显示文摘Evidence on the lifetime risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease(ASCVD) is insufficient;yet,estimating an individual's lifetime risk allows for a comprehensive assessment of ASCVD burden.We developed and validated lifetime risk prediction equations for ASCVD using four large and ongoing prospective cohorts of Chinese,the China-PAR project(Prediction for ASCVD Risk in China).Sexspecific equations were developed using two cohorts(as the derivation cohort) of 21,320 participants.Two other independent cohorts with 14,123 and 70,838 participants were used for their external validation,respectively.We evaluated both calibration and discrimination measures for model performance.Furthermore,we estimated ASCVD-free years lost or excess absolute risk attributable to high 10-year risk(!10.0%) and/or high lifetime risk(!32.8%).After 12.3 years' follow-up of the derivation cohort,1048 ASCVD events and 1304 non-ASCVD deaths were identified.Our sex-specific equations had good internal validation,with discriminant C statistics of 0.776(95% confidence interval [CI]:0.757–0.794) and 0.801(95% CI:0.778–0.825),and calibration χ~2 of 9.2(P = 0.418) and 5.6(P = 0.777) for men and women,respectively.Good external validation was also demonstrated with predicted rates closely matched to the observed ones.Compared with men having both low 10-year and low lifetime risk,men would develop ASCVD 3.0,4.6 and 8.6 years earlier if they had high 10-year risk alone,high lifetime risk alone,or both high 10-year and high lifetime risk at the index age of 35 years,respectively.We developed wellperformed lifetime risk prediction equations that will help to identify those with the greatest potential to avert ASCVD burden after implementation of innovative clinical and public health interventions in China. | Fangchao Liu Jianxin Li Jichun Chen Dongsheng Hu Ying Li Jianfeng Huang Xiaoqing Liu Xueli Yang Jie Cao Chong Shen Ling Yu Zhendong Liu Xianping Wu Liancheng Zhao Xigui Wu Dongfeng Gu Xiangfeng Lu | 2018 | Science Bulletin2018,63,12: | 30 |
| 9 | Effect of specimen size on energy dissipation characteristics of red sandstone under high strain rate显示文摘In this experiment, red sandstone specimens, having slenderness ratios of 0.5, 0.7, 0.9 and 1.1 respectively, were subjected to blow tests using a Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar(SHPB) system at a pressure of 0.4 atmospheres. In this paper, we have analyzed the effect of slenderness ratio on the mechanical properties and energy dissipation characteristics of red sandstone under high strain rates. The processes of compaction, elastic deformation and stress softening deformation of specimens contract with an increase in slenderness ratio, whilst the nonlinear deformation process extends correspondingly. In addition, degrees of damage of specimens reduced gradually and the type of destruction showed a transformation trend from stretching failure towards shear failure when the slenderness ratio increased. A model of dynamic damage evolution in red sandstone was established and the parameters of the constitutive model at different ratios of length to diameter were determined. By comparison with the experimental curve, the accuracy of the model, which could reflect the stress–strain dynamic characteristics of red sandstone, was verified. From the view of energy dissipation, an increase in slenderness ratio of a specimen decreased the proportion of energy dissipation and caused a gradual fall in the capability of energy dissipation during the specimen failure process. | 14 | Lithium–matrix composite anode protected by a solid electrolyte layer for stable lithium metal batteries显示文摘Lithium (Li) metal with an ultrahigh specific theoretical capacity and the lowest reduction potential is strongly considered as a promising anode for high-energy-density batteries. However, uncontrolled lithium dendrites and infinite volume change during repeated plating/stripping cycles hinder its practical applications immensely. Herein, a house-like Li anode (housed Li) was designed to circumvent the above issues. The house matrix was composed of carbon fiber matrix and affords a stable structure to relieve the volume change. An artificial solid electrolyte layer was formed on composite Li metal, just like the roof of a house, which facilitates uniform Li ions diffusion and serves as a physical barrier against electrolyte corrosion. With the combination of solid electrolyte layer and matrix in the composite Li metal anode, both dendrite growth and volume expansion are remarkably inhibited. The housed Li|LiFePO4 batteries exhibited over 95% capacity retention after 500 cycles at 1.0 C in coin cell and 85% capacity retention after 80 cycles at 0.5 C in pouch cell. PAF is a cell surface secretion of bioactive lipid, which could produce physiological and pathological effects by binding to its cell surface receptor called platelet-activating factor receptor (PAF-R). Studies showed that PAF participates in the occurrence and development of AP and administration of platelet-activating factor receptor antagonists (PAF-RAs) could significantly reduce local and systemic events after AP. PAF has also been implicated as a key mediator in the progression of severe AP, which can lead to complications and unacceptably high mortality rates. Several classes of PAF-RA show PAF- RAs significant local and systemic effects on reducing inflammatory changes. | 20 | A Possible Dynamic Mechanism for Rapid Production of the Extreme Hourly Rainfall in Zhengzhou City on 20 July 2021显示文摘In this study,the unprecedented extreme rainfall event during 19-20 July 2021,which caused devastating flooding in Zhengzhou City and its nearby areas,is examined based on observational data analysis and WRF model 40-h simulations on 1-km horizontal resolution.The results show that the model successfully reproduces(i)major synopticscale weather systems(i.e.,the western Pacific subtropical high,the Tibetan high,two typhoons,and the Huang-Huai cyclone),(ii)convective initiation along the east to north edge of the Songshan Mountain,where orographic lifting is obvious,and(iii)subsequent formation of the convective storm producing the extreme rainfall in Zhengzhou.In particular,the model generates the maximum rainfall rate of 233 mm h^(-1)and 40-h accumulated rainfall of 704 mm,corresponding well to the observed extreme values of 201.9 mm h^(-1)and 818 mm,at nearly observed timing and location.Importantly,the model reproduces an intense quasi-stationary,well-organized meso-γ-scale convective system,surrounded by an arc-shaped convergence zone,allowing the development of convective updrafts in a three-quarter circle around the convective system,in a way similar to“multidirectional pumping,”attracting all associated precipitation overlaid and concentrated into the same trailing region to generate the extreme hourly rainfall over Zhengzhou.Our study emphasizes the significant contribution of the unique dynamic structure of the well-organized meso-γ-scale convective system to the record-high hourly rainfall.A possible dynamic mechanism for short-time extreme rainfall production is proposed.That is,the arc-shaped convergence zone of the mesoscale convective system,acting like multidirectional lifting pumps,transports precipitation from different directions into the same region,and thus produces the extreme rainfall.The results gained herein may shed new light on better understanding and forecasting of short-time extreme rainfall. | Jinfang YIN Haodong GU Xudong LIANG Miao YU Jisong SUN Yanxin XIE Feng LI Chong WU | 2022 | Journal of Meteorological Research2022,36,1: | 17 |
