1AXL is a candidate receptor for SARS-CoV-2 that promotes infection of pulmonary and bronchial epithelial cells显示文摘The current coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic presents a global public health challenge.The viral pathogen responsible,severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),binds to the host receptor ACE2 through its spike(S)glycoprotein,which mediates membrane fusion and viral entry.Although the role of ACE2 as a receptor for SARS-CoV-2 is clear,studies have shown that ACE2 expression is extremely low in various human tissues,especially in the respiratory tract.Thus,other host receptors and/or co-receptors that promote the entry of SARS-CoV-2 into cells of the respiratory system may exist.In this study,we found that the tyrosine-protein kinase receptor UFO(AXL)specifically interacts with the N-terminal domain of SARS-CoV-2 S.Using both a SARS-CoV-2 virus pseudotype and authentic SARS-CoV-2,we found that overexpression of AXL in HEK293T cells promotes SARS-CoV-2 entry as efficiently as overexpression of ACE2,while knocking out AXL significantly reduces SARS-CoV-2 infection in HI 299 pulmonary cells and in human primary lung epithelial cells.Soluble human recombinant AXL blocks SARS-CoV-2 infection in cells expressing high levels of AXL.The AXL expression level is well correlated with SARS-CoV-2 S level in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid cells from COVID-19 patients.Taken together,our findings suggest that AXL is a novel candidate receptor for SARS-CoV-2 which may play an important role in promoting viral infection of the human respiratory system and indicate that it is a potential target for future clinical intervention strategies.Shuai Wang Zongyang Qiu Yingnan Hou Xiya Deng Wei Xu Tingting Zheng Peihan Wu Shaofang Xie Weixiang Bian Chong Zhang Zewei Sun Kunpeng Liu Chao Shan Aifu Lin Shibo Jiang Youhua Xie Qiang Zhou Lu Lu Jing Huang Xu Li 2021Cell Research2021,31,2:39
2Lightweight,Flexible Cellulose-Derived Carbon Aerogel@Reduced Graphene Oxide/PDMS Composites with Outstanding EMI Shielding Performances and Excellent Thermal Conductivities显示文摘In order to ensure the operational reliability and infor-mation security of sophisticated electronic components and to protect human health,efficient electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding materials are required to attenuate electromagnetic wave energy.In this work,the cellulose solution is obtained by dissolving cotton through hydrogen bond driving self-assembly using sodium hydroxide(NaOH)/urea solution,and cellulose aerogels(CA)are prepared by gelation and freeze-drying.Then,the cellulose carbon aerogel@reduced graphene oxide aerogels(CCA@rGO)are prepared by vacuum impregnation,freeze-drying followed by thermal annealing,and finally,the CCA@rGO/polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)EMI shielding composites are prepared by backfilling with PDMS.Owing to skin-core structure of CCA@rGO,the complete three-dimensional(3D)double-layer con-ductive network can be successfully constructed.When the loading of CCA@rGO is 3.05 wt%,CCA@rGO/PDMS EMI shielding composites have an excellent EMI shielding effectiveness(EMI SE)of 51 dB,which is 3.9 times higher than that of the co-blended CCA/rGO/PDMS EMI shielding composites(13 dB)with the same loading of fillers.At this time,the CCA@rGO/PDMS EMI shielding composites have excellent thermal stability(T_(HRI) of 178.3℃)and good thermal conductivity coefficient(λ of 0.65 W m^(-1) K^(-1)).Excellent comprehensive performance makes CCA@rGO/PDMS EMI shielding composites great prospect for applications in lightweight,flexible EMI shielding composites.Ping Song Bei Liu Chaobo Liang Kunpeng Ruan Hua Qiu Zhonglei Ma Yongqiang Guo Junwei Gu 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,6:19
3Antimony smelting process generating solid wastes and dust:Characterization and leaching behaviors显示文摘A large amount of solid waste has been produced by the antimony smelting process in the'World Capital of Antimony', Xikuangshan area in China. This study comprehensively investigated the physical and chemical characteristics of the various solid wastes, as well as the leaching behavior of the solid wastes, which included water-quenched slag,arsenic-alkali residue, desulfurized slag and blast furnace dust. These four types of waste were enriched in a variety of heavy metals and metalloids and more specifically with As and Sb levels up to 8.6 × 104 and 3.16 × 105mg/kg, respectively, in arsenic-alkali residue. For desulfurized slag and water-quenched slag, the leaching concentration of Sb significantly exceeded the acceptable limits during the leaching tests using the toxicity characteristic leaching procedure and the synthetic precipitation leaching procedure. In addition, As leaching in arsenic-alkali residue was extraordinarily hazardous, being three orders of magnitude higher than the regulatory level of As. 4Thermally conductive polyvinyl alcohol composite films via introducing hetero-structured MXene@silver fillers显示文摘Ag nanoparticles were in-situ grown on the surface of MXene nanosheets to prepare thermally conductive hetero-structured MXene@Ag fillers.With polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)as the polymer matrix,thermally conductive MXene@Ag/PVA composite films were fabricated by the processes of solution blending,pouring,evaporative self-assembly.With the same mass fraction,MXene@Ag-III(MXene/Ag,2:1,w/w)presents more significant improvement in thermal conductivity coefficient(λ)than MXene@Ag,single MXene,Ag,simply blending MXene/Ag.MXene@Ag-III/PVA composite films show dual functions of excellent thermal conductivity and electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding.When the mass fraction of MXene@Ag-III is 60 wt.%,the in-planeλ(λ_(∥)),through-planeλ(λ_(⊥)),EMI shielding effectiveness(EMI SE)are 3.72 and 0.41 W/(m∙K),32 dB,which are increased by 3.1,1.3,105.7 times than those of pure PVA film(0.91 and 0.18 W/(m∙K),0.3 dB),respectively.The 60 wt.%MXene@Ag-III/PVA composite film also has satisfying mechanical and thermal properties,with Young’s modulus,glass transition temperature,heat resistance index of 3.8 GPa,58.5 and 175.3℃,respectively.Mukun Li Yuyao Sun Dianying Feng Kunpeng Ruan Xia Liu Junwei Gu 2023Nano Research2023,16,5:10
5Magnetic properties and large magnetocaloric effects in amorphous Gd-Al-Fe alloys for magnetic refrigeration显示文摘A series of the amorphous Gd75-55Al25-5Fe0-40 alloy ribbons were prepared by melt spinning.The structure,magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effect(MCE) of these alloys were investigated.The prepared samples have shown the characteristics of a second-order phase transition with zero hysteresis loss and the Tc can be tuned by changing the Fe contents.For the different compositions,the magnetic entropy change(--Sm) for a field change of 0-5 T reached a maximum value of 7.14 J kg-1 K-1 in the Gd70Al20Fe10 alloy near its Curie temperature(Tc) of 149 K.The non-linear composition dependence of(-ΔSm) could be caused by the competitions between Fe-Fe,Fe-Gd and Gd-Gd interactions.The refrigeration capacity(RC) values of these alloys are about 532-780 J/kg under a magnetic field change of 0-5 T.The results indicate that amorphous GdFeAl alloys can be considered as ideal candidates for a magnetic refrigerant in the temperature range of 104-222 K.ZHENG ZhiGang ZHONG XiChun SU KunPeng YU HongYa LIU ZhongWu ZENG DeCheng 2011Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2011,54,7:8

7Differential expression of FOXO1 during development and myoblast differentiation of Qinchuan cattle and its association analysis with growth traits显示文摘Our previous work reported a relationship between FOXO1 mutations and growth of Qinchuan(QC) cattle. Here, we performed differential expression analysis of FOXO1 and its association analysis with growth traits in QC cattle. First, we measured the expression of the FOXO1 gene in nine tissues during three developmental stages. The results showed that FOXO1 was abundantly expressed in tissues of calves but was strongly repressed in adulthood, although there was significant transcription in skeletal muscle. FOXO1 expression showed gradual up-regulation during differentiation of primary bovine skeletal muscle cells.We also identified six SNPs of the bovine FOXO1 gene by sequencing DNA pools of samples from 488 individuals, and association analysis indicated that five SNPs were significantly associated with some growth traits in the QC population. We further analyzed four haplotype combinations of the six SNPs and found significant correlation with body length(P<0.01). In conclusion, FOXO1 participates in bovine myocyte differentiation and expression, and may be a strong candidate as a gene that affects growth traits that could be exploited in a QC cattle breeding program. 10Tribological properties of novel palygorskite nanoplatelets used as oil-based lubricant additives显示文摘Layered palygorskite(PAL),commonly called attapulgite,is a natural inorganic clay mineral composed of magnesium silicate.In this study,an aqueous miscible organic solvent treatment method is adopted to prepare molybdenum-dotted palygorskite(Amo-PMo)nanoplatelets,which greatly improved the specific surface area of PAL and the dispersion effect in an oil-based lubricant system.Their layered structure and size were confirmed using transmission electron microscopy(TEM)and atomic force microscopy.Following a tribological test lubricated with three additives(PAL,organic molybdenum(SN-Mo),and Amo-PMo),it was found that the sample of 0.5 wt%Amo-PMo exhibited the best tribological properties with a coefficient of friction of 0.09.Moreover,the resulting wear scar diameter and wear volume of the sliding ball surface were 63%and 49.6%of those lubricated with base oil,respectively.Its excellent lubricating performance and self-repairing ability were mainly attributed to the generated MoS2 adsorbed on the contact surfaces during the tribochemical reaction,thereby effectively preventing the direct collision between asperities on sliding solid surfaces.Thus,as-prepared Amo-PMo nanoplatelets show great potential as oil-based lubricant additives,and this study enriches the existing application of PAL in industry.Kunpeng WANG Huaichao WU Hongdong WANG Yuhong LIU Lv YANG Limei ZHAO 2021Friction2021,9,2:3
11Design of equivalent-input-disturbance estimator using a generalized state observer显示文摘In this paper, we present a design method based on the concept of equivalent input disturbance (EID) to reject disturbances for a linear time-invariant system. A generalized state observer (GSO) is used to estimate an EID of the external disturbances, and the pole-assignment algorithm is employed to select the matrices of the GSO. 12CFD and experimental investigations on the micromixing performance of single countercurrent-flow microchannel reactor显示文摘Microchannel reactors are widely used in different fields due to their intensive micromixing and, thus, high masstransfer efficiency. In this work, a single countercurrent-flow microchannel reactor(S-CFMCR) at the size of ~1 mm was developed by steel micro-capillary and laser drilling technology. Utilizing the Villermaux/Dushman parallel competing reaction, numerical and experimental studies were carried out to investigate the micromixing performance(expressed as the segregation index XS) of liquids inside S-CFMCR at the low flow velocity regime.The effects of various operating conditions and design parameters of S-CFMCR, e.g., inlet Reynolds number(Re),volumetric flow ratio(R), inlet diameter(d) and outlet length(L), on the quality of micromixing were studied qualitatively. It was found that the micromixing efficiency was enhanced with increasing Re, but weakened with the increase of R. Moreover, d and L also have a significant influence on micromixing. CFD results were in good agreement with experimental data. In addition, the visualization of velocity magnitude, turbulent kinetic energy and concentration distributions of various ions inside S-CFMCR was illustrated as well. 14Effects of the grain size distribution on magnetic properties of magnetite: constraints from micromagnetic modeling显示文摘Magnetite is the most important magnetic mineral in paleomagnetism. Its magnetic properties are controlled by many factors, such as grain size distribution,shape and interactions. Traditional rock magnetic experiments, however, have great difficulty in decoupling the effects of these parameters. In this study, we attempted to investigate the effects of grain size distribution on magnetic properties of magnetite powders by using a micromagnetic method. The particle geometries used in the micromagnetic model were based on the grain size distribution observed in a synthetic magnetite powder. The simulated hysteresis parameters agree well with the experimental measurements and provide clear microstructures of the magnetic remanence. Our results show that grain size plays a more important role in affecting hysteresis parameters of magnetite assemblages than shape under effects of interactions. Uniform or vortex superstates formed by two or more particles are found and display different stabilities of magnetic recording in assemblages.Some domain structures of single-domain(SD) particles are reversed as the applied field decreases to zero. Small pseudo-single-domain particles behave as SD structures and may dominate the magnetic recordings. 16Tailoring Bi_(2)Te_(3) edge with semiconductor and metal properties under electron beam irradiation显示文摘In pursuit of miniaturization in the semiconductor industry,two-dimensional(2D)materials are used to fabricate new electronic devices.The topological insulator(TI)material bismuth telluride(Bi_(2)Te_(3)),as an emerging 2D material,has potential applications in electronic and spintronic devices due to its unique electrical properties.It is well known that the surface-to-volume ratio increases as the thickness of the material decreases,resulting in a more prominent edge effect.Therefore,for a single-layer Bi_(2)Te_(3),the atomic structure of the edge plays a crucial role in its electrical properties.Here,combining first-principles calculations and in situ transmission electron microscopy(TEM)experimental studies,we report that there are two types of edge structures in single-layer Bi2Te3:semiconducting flat edges and metallic zigzag edges.The dynamic evolution process of the edge structure with atomic resolution shows that the proportions of these two edges change with continuous electron beam irradiation.Our findings demonstrate the viability to use electron beam as an effective tool to precisely tailor the edge of Bi_(2)Te_(3) with desired properties,which paves the way for implementation of single-layer Bi2Te3 in electronics and spintronics.Ning Cao Peng Liu Jialiang Pan Liheng Liang Kunpeng Cai Qingguo Shao Hongwei Zhu Xiaobei Zang 2022Nano Research2022,15,5:2
17Temperature-Dependent Fatty Acid Composition Change of Phospholipid in Steelhead Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) Tissues显示文摘In this study, the changes of the fatty acid composition of phospholipid in different tissues(muscle, heart, brain and spleen) of steelhead trout(Oncorhynchus mykiss) were analyzed when the water temperature decreased gradually from 16 to 12℃℃, 8℃, 6℃, 4℃, 2 and 1℃℃. Three fish individuals each tank(average weight 70.32 g ± 9.12 g) were collected and used to analysis at each designed temperatures. At normal temperature(16℃), the fatty acid composition of phospholipid of muscle and heart was similar each other. The highest concentration of saturate fatty acids(SFA) was found in the phospholipid of spleen. The brain phospholipid contained higher oleic acid(18:1 n9) than the phospholipid of other tissues at 16℃. When the environmental temperature decreased, the concentration of unsaturated fatty acids of phospholipids in all tissues increased, and accordingly the ratio pf the unsaturated to saturated fatty acids(U/S) and unsaturation index(UI) increased, indicating that steelhead trout can compensate temperature-dependent changes in membrane fluidity by remodeling the fatty acid composition of phospholipids. The changes in the fatty acid composition of phospholipid were tissue-specific. At the early stages of the experiment(16 to 8℃℃), the fatty acid composition of phospholipid changed remarkably in muscle, heart, and spleen. When temperature decreased to less than 8℃, an obvious response of phospholipid fatty acid was observed in all tissues. 18Electric field controlled superlubricity of fullerene-based host–guest assembly显示文摘Controlling friction by the electric field is a promising way to improve the tribological performance of a variety of movable mechanical systems.In this work,the assembly structure and microscale superlubricity of a host–guest assembly are effectively controlled by the electric field.With the help of the scanning tunneling microscopy(STM)technique,the host–guest assembly structures constructed by the co-assembly of fullerene derivative(Fluorene-C60)with macrocycles(4B2A and 3B2A)are explicitly characterized.Combined with density functional theory(DFT),the distinct different assembly behaviors of fullerene derivatives are revealed at different probe biases,which is attributed to the molecular polarity of the fullerene derivative.Through the control on the adsorption behavior,the friction coefficient of host–guest assembly is demonstrated to be controllable in the electric field by using atomic force microscopy(AFM).At positive probe bias,the friction coefficient of the host–guest assembly is significantly reduced and achieves superlubricity(μmin=0.0049).The efforts not only help us gain insight into the host–guest assembly mechanism controlled by the electric field,but also promote the further application of fullerene in micro-electro-mechanical systems(MEMS).Shanchao Tan Hongyu Shi Xin Du Kunpeng Wang Haijun Xu Junhua Wan Ke Deng Qingdao Zeng Yuhong Liu 2023Nano Research2023,16,1:1
192 μm optical frequency comb generation via optical parametric oscillation from a lithium niobate optical superlattice box resonator显示文摘Optical parametric oscillators(OPOs) can downconvert the pump laser to longer wavelengths with octave separation via χ^((2)), which is widely used for laser wavelength extension including mid-infrared(MIR) generation.Such a process can be integrated in monolithic resonators, being compact and low in threshold. In this work, we show that the monolithic χ^((2))mini-OPO can also be used for optical frequency comb generation around 2096 nm and enters the boundary of MIR range. A new geometry called an optical superlattice box resonator is developed for this realization with near-material-limited quality factor of 4.0 × 10^(7). Only a continuous-wave near-infrared pump laser is required, with OPO threshold of 80 mW and output power up to 340 mW. Revival temporal profiles are measured at a detectable repetition frequency of 1.426 GHz, and narrow beat note linewidth of less than 10 Hz shows high comb coherence. These results are in good agreement with our simulation for a stable comb generation.
