Surface defect engineering of metal oxides photocatalyst for energy application and water treatment显示文摘Despite metal oxides offer excellent characteristics in the field of photocatalysis, they often suffer from charge carrier recombination as well as limited visible response, which indeed reduce the charge kinetics process and ultimately reduce the photocatalytic output.Defect engineering is a sophisticated technique to manufacture defects and alter the geometric structure and chemical environment of the host. The present study provides an all-inclusive outline of recent developments on the classification of metal oxide defects based on the dimensions of a host crystal lattice.Precisely, surface modification of metal oxides through 0D(point),1D(line),2D(planar),and 3D(volume)defects with their subsequent mechanism and impact on photocatalytic performance are presented.By wisely amending the morphology(cores along with the shells)and electronic structure of metal oxide photocatalysts(TiO_(2),ZnO,Bi_(2)O_(3),Fe_(2)O_(4) etc.)through different attuned and veritable approaches, their photocatalytic activity can be substantially improved.Optimal studies on defect engineering not only expose the altered physicochemical features but also modulate the electron-hole pair dynamics, stability, and active radical production for various photoredox reactions.Altered atomic,as well as electronic configuration, facilitated a photocatalyst material to have different optical features, adsorption properties along with improved carrier transfer as well as isolation rate. Thus, the systematic exploration of photocatalytic rudiments of defect rich metal oxide for various applications such as H_(2) evolution,CO_(2) reduction, pollutant degradation, and bacterial disinfection could bring significant research advancement in this field.Pankaj Raizada Vatika Soni Abhinandan Kumar Pardeep Singh Aftab Aslam Parwaz Khan Abdullah M.Asiri Vijay Kumar Thakur Van-Huy Nguyen 2021Journal of Materiomics2021,7,2:4
Stigma Receptivity Is Controlled by Functionally Redundant MAPK Pathway Components in Arabidopsis显示文摘In angiosperms, the process of pollination relies on species-specific interaction and signaling between the male(pollen)and female(pistil)counterparts where the interplay between several pollen and stigma proteins decides the fate of the pollen. In Brassicaceae, the dry stigmatic papillary cells control pollen germination by releasing resources only to compatible pollen thereby allowing pollen to hydrate and germinate.Despite the identification of a number of stigmatic proteins that facilitate pollination responses, the signaling mechanisms that regulate functions of these proteins have remained unknown. Here,we show that,in Arabidopsis,an extremely functionally redundant mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)cascade is required for maintaining stigma receptivity to accept compatible pollen. Our genetic analyses demonstrate that in stigmas, five MAPK kinases(MKKs),MKK1/2/3/7/9 are required to transmit upstream signals to two MPKs,MPK3/4,to mediate compatible pollination.Compromised functions of these five MKKs in the quintuple mutant(mkk1/2/3RNAi/mkk7/9)phenocopied pollination defects observed in the m pk4RNAi/m pk3 double mutant. We further show that this MAPK nexus converges on Exo70A1,a previously identified stigma receptivity factor essential for pollination.Given that pollination is the crucial initial step during plant reproduction, understanding the mechanisms that govern successful pollination could lead to development of strategies to improve crop yield.Muhammad Jamshed Subramanian Sankaranarayanan Kumar Abhinandan Marcus A.Samuel 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,11:3
Disabling of ARC1 through CRISPR–Cas9 leads to a complete breakdown of self-incompatibility responses in Brassica napus显示文摘Dear Editor,Many flowering plants utilize the self-incompatibility(SI)response as a genetic mechanism to prevent self-pollen from establishing on the stigmas, thereby promoting outcrossing and genetic diversity. In Brassica during SI,recognition of the pollen ligand SP11 by S-locus receptor kinase(SRK)results in activation of the E3 ligase ARM-Repeat-Containing protein(ARC1),which leads to proteasomal degradation of compatibility factors required for successful pollen acceptance.Kumar Abhinandan Neil M.N.Hickerson Xingguo Lan Marcus A.Samuel 2023Plant Communications2023,4,2:0
Sulphur vacancy defects engineered metal sulfides for amended photo(electro)catalytic water splitting: A review显示文摘Vacancy engineering in metal sulfides has garnered enormous attention from researchers because of their outstanding ability to modulate the optical and physiochemical properties of photocatalysts.Typically,in the case of sulfides, the catalytic activity is drastically hindered by the quick reassembly of excitons and the photocorrosion effect.Hence designing and generating S-vacancies in metal sulfides has emerged as a potential strategy for attaining adequate water splitting to generate H_(2) and O_(2) because of the simulta-neous improvement in the optoelectronic features. However, developing efficient catalysts that manifest optimal photo(electro)catalytic performance for large-scale applicability remains challenging. Therefore,it is of utmost interest to explore the insightful features of creating S-vacancy and study their impact on catalytic performance. This review article aims to comprehensively highlight the roles of S-vacancy in sulfides for amended overall water-splitting activity. The photocatalytic features of S-vacancies modulated metal sulfides are deliberated, followed by various advanced synthetic and characterization techniques for effectual generation and identification of vacancy defects. The specific aspects of S-vacancies in refin-ing the optical absorption range charge carrier dynamics, and photoinduced surface chemical reactions are critically examined for overall water splitting applications. Finally, the vouchsafing outlooks and op-portunities confronting the defect-engineered(S-vacancy)metal sulfides-based photocatalysts have been summarized.Kusum Sharma Abhinandan Kumar Tansir Ahamad Quyet Van Le Pankaj Raizada Archana Singh Lan Huong Nguyen Sourbh Thakur Van-Huy Nguyen Pardeep Singh 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,21:0
Smart Quarantine Environment Privacy through IoT Gadgets Using Blockchain显示文摘The coronavirus, formerly known as COVID-19,has caused massive global disasters. As a precaution, most governments imposed quarantine periods ranging from months to years and postponed significantfinancial obligations.Furthermore, governments around the world have used cutting-edge technologies to track citizens’activity.Thousands of sensors were connected to IoT(Internet of Things)devices to monitor the catastrophic eruption with billions of connected devices that use these novel tools and apps, privacy and security issues regarding data transmission and memory space abound. In this study,we suggest a block-chain-based methodology for safeguarding data in the billions of devices and sen-sors connected over the internet.Various trial secrecy and safety qualities are based on cutting-edge cryptography. To evaluate the proposed model,we recom-mend using an application of the system,a Raspberry Pi single-board computer in an IoT system,a laptop,a computer, cell phones and the Ethereum smart contract platform. The models ability to ensure safety, effectiveness and a suitable budget is proved by the Gowalla dataset results.Nitish Pathak Shams Tabrez Siddiqui Anjani Kumar Singha Heba G Mohamed Shabana Urooj Abhinandan R Patil 2023Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing2023,,3:0
