The Development Strategy of Bali as Sustainable Event Conference Destination Based on Satisfaction Level:Service Quality,Green Meeting,Loyalty显示文摘Indonesia, particularly Bali,is a feasible destination to hold whether an international or national event conference, however its standard needs to improve, since it is below other countries. As the green meeting, several conference events still are concerned in preserving the environment, and also reducing the negative environment implication. Thus, the service quality is very necessary to support the conference events.Generally, this study is to analyze the service quality, green meetings towards satisfaction, loyalty, and the development strategy of Bali as a center of sustainable conference events. This research uses a sequential explanatory model, which is a mixed method between quantitative and qualitative approach.Quantitative approach used SEM,and focus group discussion for the qualitity to obtain stake holders’opinion.SWOT was used to develop the strategies and QSPM to obtain the alternatives that are prioritized to the development center of event conference that has quality and green environment. This research was located in several places, such as Nusa Dua,Kuta, and Airport.Firman Sinaga I Komang Gde Bendesa I Gusti Ayu Oka Suryawardani Agung Suryawan Wiranatha Santi Palupi Arianti 2020Management Studies2020,8,3:0
Development of Bedulu Village Towards Future Tourism显示文摘Tourism is one of the largest industries in the world and a promising sector to boost a country’s growth. Bedulu Village in Gianyar Regency, Bali, is a village with high tourism potential. The village has beautiful natural scenery and archaeological heritage sites, which enable tourists to enjoy culture, nature, pilgrimage, and educational tourism. Although some efforts have been made by the locals to improve the quality of tourism, the management of tourism in Bedulu Village is still handled sketchily using a simple system, in addition to a lack of proper human resources and infrastructure. Therefore, Bedulu Village still requires further development for potential tourism attraction in order to become quality tourist destination in the future. The purpose of this study was to analyze the current situation of tourism in Bedulu and determine the necessary development needed for future tourism in Bedulu Village. The data collected from the object of research were analyzed using descriptive-qualitative analytical method. The results from this study are: While Bedulu Village has been adequately prepared in terms of tourist attractions and tourist accommodation, it is still in need of further development in areas, such as infrastructure, marketing, and the empowerment of local community. This will allow the village to stay competitive in the face of mass tourism of nearby places, like Ubud and lead to community’s welfare, which in turn will secure future tourism of Bedulu Village.Ni Komang Nariani I Komang Gde Bendesa Made Budiarsa 2019Management Studies2019,7,3:0
Sanur Area Development Strategy Towards Green Tourism Destination显示文摘The landscape and the uniqueness of culture is the principal capital of Bali’s tourism industry. The government shows its seriousness by setting the concept of tourism development in Bali as cultural tourism. Sanur is a region in Bali that relies on cultural tourism as a significant magnet in attracting tourists. However, the increasing number of tourists causes negative impacts, such as environmental damage. Applying the right tourism development strategy can help prevent environmental damage. This conceptual study attempts to identify environmental problems in Sanur area based on observation, interviews, focus group discussion, and documentation. This study used a descriptive-qualitative analytical method to formulate a strategy using the concept of 4A: attractions, amenities, accessibilities, and ancillary services that can be approached to develop Sanur into a green tourism destination. Responsible green tourism programs and plans include those that minimize the negative aspects of conventional tourism on the environment and enhance the cultural integrity of local people.I Made Sudjana I Komang Gde Bendesa Agung Suryawan Wiranatha 2019Management Studies2019,7,5:0
Biomolecular mechanisms of epileptic seizures and epilepsy: a review显示文摘Epilepsy is a recurring neurological disease caused by the abnormal electrical activity in the brain. This disease has caused about 50 new cases in 100,000 populations every year with the clinical manifestations of awareness loss, bruising, and mobility abnormalities. Due to the lack understanding of the pathophysiology behind the illness, a wide variety of medications are available to treat epilepsy. Epileptogenesis is the process by which a normally functioning brain undergoes alterations leading to the development of epilepsy, involving various factors. This is related to the inflammation which is driven by cytokines like IL-1 and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) leads to neuronal hyperexcitability. Pro-inflammatory cytokines from activated microglia and astrocytes in epileptic tissue initiate an inflammatory cascade, heightening neuronal excitability and triggering epileptiform activity. The blood-brain barrier (BBB) maintains central nervous system integrity through its tight endothelial connections, but inflammation impact BBB structure and function which leads to immune cell infiltration. The mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) pathway’s excessive activation influences epileptogenesis, impacting neuronal excitability, and synapse formation, with genetic mutations contributing to epilepsy syndromes and the modulation of autophagy playing a role in seizure onset. The apoptotic pathway contribute to cell death through glutamate receptor-mediated excitotoxicity, involving pro-apoptotic proteins like p53 and mitochondrial dysfunction, leading to the activation of caspases and the disruption of calcium homeostasis. Ionic imbalances within neural networks contribute to the complexity of epileptic seizures, involving alterations in voltage-gated sodium and potassium channels, and the formation of diverse ion channel subtypes. Epileptogenesis triggers molecular changes in hippocampus, including altered neurogenesis and enhanced expression of neurotrophic factors and proteins. Oxidative stress leads to cellular damage, disrupted antioxidant systems, and mitochondrial dysfunction, making it a key player in epileptogenesis and potential neuroprotective interventions. Thalamocortical circuitry disruption is central to absence epilepsy, the normal circuit becomes faulty and results in characteristic brain wave patterns.Komang Trisna Sumadewi Saktivi Harkitasari David Christopher Tjandra 2023Acta Epileptologica2023,6,4:0
Evaluation of zoonotic potency of Escherichia coli O157:H7 through arbitrarily primed PCR methods显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the zoonotic potency of Escherichia coli O157:H7 through arbitrarily primed-PCR(AP-PCR) methods as one of the DNA fingerprinting methods. Methods: A total of 14 isolates consisted of 11 isolates originated from human feces with renal failure symptoms, 2 isolates originated from cattle feces, and 1 control isolate were used in this study. DNA of each isolate was extracted, and their pro files were studied by using AP-PCR method with M13 F and M13 R arbitrary primers. Results: The results founded that all of 14 isolates had similarity range from 54.6% to88.5%. Isolates KL-106(3) and KL-55(6) originated from humans showed the degree of similarity with isolates SM-25(1) and SM-7(1) originated from cattle as high as 85% and77%, respectively. Conclusions: The high degree of similarity between isolates originated from cattle and human indicated the high potency of zoonoses. The results also concluded AP-PCR method as a brie fly fingerprinting method in order to trace the epidemiological of E. coli O157:H7.I Wayan Suardana Dyah Ayu Widiasih I Gusti Ngurah Kade Mahardika Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih Budi Setiadi Daryono 2015Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2015,5,11:0
Tourists’ Behavioural Intention Towards Ecotourism in Bali Under Consideration of Issue-Related Knowledge显示文摘Tourists’image about Bali and the motivation to visit the island are firmly based on Bali’s rich culture and tradition as well as its abundant nature.Due to the increasing number of visitors year by year, the island is in urgent need to reduce or even minimize the negative impacts of tourism and the damages done to nature and Balinese society. To improve the quality of tourism,a better understanding of tourists’behavioural intention and actual behaviour is crucial. An essential part of this context and the process of tourists’decision making plays the level of environmental knowledge. Therefore, the study intended to answer the research question:“How does issue-related knowledge influence ecotourism behavioural intention and actual environmental behaviour of tourists?”.A sequential exploratory research method using quantitative and qualitative data from interviews and Focus Group Discussion has been utilized to find more insights.Ajzen’s(1991)“Theory of Planned Behaviour”has been applied in an extended model to analyze whether knowledge influences attitude, intention, and behaviour. The data for the quantitative analyzes were collected 2019 within four weeks through interviews of 264 international and domestic tourists at three nature-based tourism destinations in Bali. The gained data were processed using multiple techniques:descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis, and Structural Equation Model(SEM)analysis. The results showed that ecotourism knowledge has a direct impact on tourists’environmental attitudes and their actual environmental behaviour.Although the SEM analysis could not show the direct influence towards ecotourism behavioural intention, this was confirmed by the correlation analysis result with a positive relationship of the latent variables ecotourism knowledge and ecotourism behavioural intention with significant strength. The research findings led to the conclusion that the research question could be confirmed. The level of ecotourism knowledge has a positive influence onenvironmental attitude, behaviour intention, and actual behaviour.Martin Krummeck I Komang Gde Bendesa Made Budiarsa I Gusti Ayu Oka Suryawardani Agung Suryawan Wiranatha 2020Management Studies2020,8,5:0
