1Vanishing bile duct syndrome in human immunodeficiency virus infected adults:A report of two cases显示文摘Vanishing bile duct syndrome(VBDS) is a group of rare disorders characterized by ductopenia,the progressive destruction and disappearance of intrahepatic bile ducts leading to cholestasis.Described in association with medications,autoimmune disorders,cancer,transplantation,and infections,the specific mechanisms of disease are not known.To date,only 4 cases of VBDS have been reported in human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) infected patients.We report 2 additional cases of HIV-associated VBDS and review the features common to the HIV-associated cases.Presentation includes hyperbilirubinemia,normal liver imaging,and negative viral and autoimmune hepatitis studies.In HIV-infected subjects,VBDS occurred at a range of CD4+ T-cell counts,in some cases following initiation or change in antiretroviral therapy.Lymphoma was associated with two cases;nevirapine,antibiotics,and viral co-infection were suggested as etiologies in the other cases.In HIV-positive patients with progressive cholestasis,early identification of VBDS and referral for transplantation may improve outcomes.Ana Paula Oppenheimer Christopher Koh Mary McLaughlin John C Williamson Thomas D Norton Jennifer Laudadio Theo Heller David E Kleiner Kevin P High Caryn G Morse 2013World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,1:8
2Multifunctional interleaved geometric-phase dielectric metasurfaces显示文摘Shared-aperture technology for multifunctional planar systems,performing several simultaneous tasks,was first introduced in the field of radar antennas.In photonics,effective control of the electromagnetic response can be achieved by a geometric-phase mechanism implemented within a metasurface,enabling spin-controlled phase modulation.The synthesis of the shared-aperture and geometric-phase concepts facilitates the generation of multifunctional metasurfaces.Here shared-aperture geometric-phase metasurfaces were realized via the interleaving of sparse antenna sub-arrays,forming Si-based devices consisting of multiplexed geometric-phase profiles.We study the performance limitations of interleaved nanoantenna arrays by means of a Wigner phasespace distribution to establish the ultimate information capacity of a metasurface-based photonic system.Within these limitations,we present multifunctional spin-dependent dielectric metasurfaces,and demonstrate multiple-beam technology for optical rotation sensing.We also demonstrate the possibility of achieving complete real-time control and measurement of the fundamental,intrinsic properties of light,including frequency,polarization and orbital angular momentum.Elhanan Maguid Igor Yulevich Michael Yannai Vladimir Kleiner Mark L Brongersma Erez Hasman 2017Light(Science & Applications)2017,6,1:7

9在有煽动性、非煽动性的腹的疼痛显型的孩子的 interleukin-6 和桅杆房间的反的关系显示文摘 AIM: To investigate interleukin-6 (IL-6), mast cells, enterochromaffin cells, 5-hydroxytryptamine, and substance P in the gastrointestinal mucosa of children with abdominal pain. METHODS: Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded gas-trointestinal biopsy blocks from patients (n = 48) with non-inflammatory bowel disease (irritable bowel syndrome and functional abdominal pain) and inflammatory bowel disease were sectioned and stained for IL-6, mast cells, enterochromaffin cells, 5-hydroxytryptamine, and substance P. All children had chronic abdominal pain as part of their presenting symptoms. Biopsy phenotype was confirmed by a pathologist, blinded to patient information. Descriptive statistics, chi-square, and independent sample t tests were used to compare differences between the inflammatory and non-inflammatory groups. RESULTS: The cohort (n = 48), mean age 11.9 years (SD = 2.9), 54.2% females, 90% Caucasian, was comprised of a non-inflammatory (n = 26) and an inflammatory (n = 22) phenotype. There was a significant negative correlation between substance P expression and mast cell count (P = 0.05, r = -0.373). Substance P was found to be expressed more often in female patient biopsies and more intensely in the upper gastrointestinal mucosa as compared to the lower mucosa. There were significantly increased gastrointestinal mucosal immunoreactivity to IL-6 (P = 0.004) in the inflammatory phenotype compared to non-inflammatory. Additionally, we found significantly increased mast cells (P = 0.049) in the mucosa of the non-inflammatory phenotype compared to the inflammatory group. This difference was particularly noted in the lower colon biopsies.
