9Short-term variations and influencing factors of suspended sediment concentrations at the Heisha Beach,Guangdong,China显示文摘Knowledge of sediment variation processes is essential to understand the evolution mechanism of beach morphology changes.Thus,a field measurement was conducted at the Heisha Beach,located on the west coast of the Zhujiang River(Pearl River)Estuary,to investigate the short-term variation in suspended sediment concentrations(SSCs)and the relationship between the SSC and turbulent kinetic energy,bottom shear stress(BSS),and relative wave height.Based on extreme event analysis results,extreme events have a greater influence on turbulent kinetic energy than SSC.Although a portion of the turbulent kinetic energy dissipates directly into the water column,it plays an important role in suspended sediment motion.Most of the time,the wave-current interaction is strong enough to drive sediment incipience and resuspension.When combined,the wave-current interaction and wave-induced BSSs have a greater influence on suspended sediment transport and SSC variation than current-induced BSS alone.The relative wave height also has a strong correlation with SSC,indicating that the combined effect of water depth and wave height significantly impacts SSC variation.Water depth is mainly controlled by the tide on the beaches;thus,the effects of tides and waves should be conjunctively considered when analyzing the factors influencing SSC.Jintang Ou Haoyan Dong Liangwen Jia Xiangxin Luo Zixiao He Kanglin Chen Jing Liu Yitong Lin Mingdong Yu Mingen Liang 2022Acta Oceanologica Sinica2022,41,5:0

11Hydrophobic ionic liquid-in-polymer composites for ultrafast,linear response and highly sensitive humidity sensing显示文摘Traditional ionic liquids are sensitive to humidity but with long response time and nonlinear response.Pure liquid-state ionic liquids are usually hard for dehydration which have ultralong response time for humidity sensing.The immobilization of ionic liquids provide a possible way for high performance humidity sensing.Hydrophobic materials and structures also promised faster response in humidity sensing,because of easier desorption of water.In this work,we prepared flexible humidity sensitive composites based on hydrophobic ionic liquid and polymer.The combination of hydrophobic ionic liquid with hydrophobic polymer realized linear response,high sensitivity with low hysteresis to humidity.By adjusting the ratio of ionic liquid,not only the impedance but also the hydrophobicity of composite could be modulated,which had a significant influence on the humidity sensing performance.The morphology and microstructure of the material also affected its interaction with water molecules.Due to the diverse processing methods of polymer,highly transparent film fabricated by spinning-coating and nanofibrous membrane fabricated by electrospinning could be prepared and exhibited different response time,which could be used for different application scenarios.Especially,the fibrous membrane made with electrospinning method showed an ultrafast response and could distinguish up to 120 Hz humidity change,due to its fibrous structure with high specific surface area.The humidity sensors with ultrafast,linear response and high sensitivity showed potential applications in human respiratory monitoring and flexible non-contact switch.To better show the multifunction of ionic liquid-polymer composite,as a proof of concept,we fabricated an integrated humidity sensitive color change device by utilizing lower ionic liquid content composite for sensing in the humidity sensing module and higher ionic liquid content composite as the electrolyte in the electrochromic module.Xuanliang Zhao Kanglin Zhou Yujia Zhong Peng Liu Zechen Li Jialiang Pan Yu Long Meirong Huang Abdelrahman Brakat Hongwei Zhu 2021Nano Research2021,14,4:0
12Validity of Alvarado Score in predicting disease severity and postoperative complication in pediatric acute appendicitis显示文摘background This study evaluates the validity of Alvarado Score in predicting disease severity and the development of postoperative complications in pediatric appendicitis.Methods This is a retrospective,bicentered study on pediatric patients with emergency appendicectomy performed from 2006 to 2016.The relationship of Alvarado Score(low:1-4,medium:5-6,high:7-10)and operative findings/complications was analyzed.results A total of 316 patients were included and the median age on admission was 10.8 years.The overall median score was 8.0.13.3%,20.2%,and 66.5%of patients had low,medium,and high risk scores,respectively.36.1%of patients had complicated appendicitis and the median score was comparable with that of the uncomplicated cases(7.0 vs 7.4,p=0.21).More complicated cases were found in the medium-risk group(high vs medium vs low=29.7%vs 61.4%vs 31.0%,p=0.01).Rebound tenderness had the highest positive predictive value(65%)for complicated appendicitis.Postoperative complications were found in 16.5%of patients with a higher median score(7.87 vs 5.8,p=0.01).Conclusion Alvarado Score does not predict disease severity but postoperative complication.Patients with medium risk score should also be treated promptly for the risk of having complicated disease.Rebound tenderness may be a signal for complicated appendicitis and should be properly examined.Patrick H Y Chung Kanglin Dai Zhen Yang Kenneth K Y Wong 2019World Journal of Pediatric Surgery2019,2,1:0

15Study on the Main Controlling Factors of the Early Ordovician Stromatolites Development in Liujiachang Area of Songzi City显示文摘The Early Ordovician stromatolites in the study area are mainly exposed at the bottom and middle and lower parts of the Second Member of Nanjinguan Formation,the top of the Fourth Member of Nanjinguan Formation,the middle of the Second Member of Fenxiang Formation and the bottom of the First Member of Honghuayuan Formation.In order to find out the controlling factors of Lower Ordovician stromatolites development in the study area,the analysis data of carbon,oxygen isotope samples,macro element samples as well as their variation characteristics are studied and then combined them with previous research results,which is eventually beneficial for reaching the conclusion:sea level change is one of the main factors controlling the formation of stromatolites.There are five sea level change cycles in the Early Ordovician period.The analysis of sea level change and accommodation space variation characteristics show that when the growth rate of the accommodation space is approximately equal to that of carbonate,the circulation of seawater is well,and the amount of light and oxygen is sufficient,so that the cyanobacteria organism can be multiplied in large quantities.The growth and development provide favorable conditions,and favorable conditions are provided for the growth and development of stromatolites;The peak changes in CaO content and CaO/MgO ratio indicate that the formation period of stromatolites is arid climate environment with high water temperature and large evaporation.Prokaryote reproduction is suitable for the environments with high seawater cleanliness.When the amount of land-based debris injected into the sea increases,the turbidity of water will lead to a large number of deaths of algae microorganisms that form stromatolites,and the stromatolitic microbial mats cannot be preserved.In addition,the growth and predation of macro-organisms play a restrictive role in the development of stromatolite-forming micro-organisms blue-green algae.According to the actual situa-tion of the development of the laminated rocks in the study area,what is the dominant function in the formation and decline of stromatolites between the evolution of metazoans and changing environments is discussed in the study.Lanjun Wu Chuantao Xiao Zhongzhen Cheng Yichen Bao Li Huang Kanglin Chen 2019Open Journal of Yangtze Oil and Gas2019,4,3:0
