| 2 | A double-halocline structure in the Canada Basin of the Arctic Ocean显示文摘A year-round halocline is a particular hydrographic structure in the upper Arctic Ocean. On the basis of an analysis of the hydrographic data collected in the Arctic Ocean, it is found that a double-halocline structure exists in the upper layer of the southern Canada Basin, which is absolutely different from the Cold Halocline Layer (CHL) in the Eurasian Basin. The Pacific-origin water is the primary factor in the formation of the double-halocline structure. The upper halocline lies between the summer modification and the winter modification of the Pacific-origin water while the lower halocline results from the Pacific-origin water overlying upon the Atlantic-origin water. | 4 | Arctic oscillation and the antarcic oscillation modes in the atmospheric stratosphere显示文摘On the basis of the EOF analysis of global geopotential height anomaly (GHA) field at 10 hPa level, the arctic oscillation (AO) and the means antarctic oscillation (AAO) can be detected more obviously at the upper level of atmosphere than the AO or the AAO in surface layer. Unlike the hemisphere pattern of the AO and the AAO in the surface lager given by previous authors, the AO or the AAO in the stratosphere has its global features. The zonal oscillations-the Southern Oscillation (SO) and the north oscillation (NO) in atmospheric surface layer become less clear in the upper air. The first mode (AO mode, abbreviated to AOM hereafter) and the second mode (AAO mode, abbreviated to AAOM hereafter) respectively have 41.47% and 27.04% of the total variance contribution. The cumulative variance contribution of the first two modes reaches 68.51%. These two modes are the main components for the interdecadal or decadal oscillation in the stratosphere. In addition, there still exist two kinds of oscillation patterns with less probability, namely, the symmetric pattern at mid-high latitudes in the Southern Hemisphere and the asymmetric pattern. Spectral analysis shows that the AOM and the AAOM all have a spectral peak for 22 a period, being consistent with the periodic variations of the solar magnetic field, and a peak for 11 a period, being consistent with the period of the numbers of sunspots. Step filter analysis shows that the influencing factor for the upper atmospheric oscillation is the solar activity. | 5 | Neurobiological disruptions induced in brains of the rats fed with mercury contami- nated rice collected from experimental fields in Guizhou Province, China显示文摘Guizhou Province, located in the southwestern China, is an important mercury (Hg) production center. High levels of Hg were found in local environmental and biomass samples. The neurobiological disruptions induced in brains of rats fed with Hg polluted rice collected from two experimental plots in Guizhou Province were studied. The plots are close to the Hg mine of Wanshang area and a chemical plant (where Hg is used as a catalyst for the pro-duction of acetaldehyde) of Qingzhen area. Rats were fed for 30 d before toxicological end points were tested. The results showed that the accumulations of Hg in rat’s brain of Qingzhen chemical plant group and Wanshang mine group were significantly higher than those of Shanghai group (con-trol group) (P<0.01). The neural transmitters, including ace-tylcholine (Ach), acetylcholine enzyme (AchE), nitric oxide and nitricoxide synthase (NOS), in rat’s brain were signifi-cantly affected. Oxidative stress was observed in the expo-sure groups. The expression levels of the immediately early gene (IEG), c-fos and c-FOS proteins were induced by the Hg polluted rice. It was noted that the IEG (c-fos) participated in the neurotoxic process induced by the Hg polluted rice. IEG response to Hg might be dependent on interactions between neural transmitter and oxidative damage. c-fos could be used as an effective index of detecting and assessing the neurotox-icity of Hg. The results suggested that it should be alert to mental health problem in human beings eating Hg-polluted food. | 6 | Biological porous carbon encapsulated polyethylene glycol-based phase change composites for integrated electromagnetic interference shielding and thermal management capabilities显示文摘The development of functional composites with excellent thermal management capabilities and electro-magnetic interference(EMI)shielding has become extremely urgent for keeping up with the continuous improvement of the operating speed and efficiency for electronic equipment.In this study,the biolog-ical wood-derived porous carbon(WPC)was determined as the supporting material to encapsulating polyethylene glycol(PEG),and a series of WPC/PEG/Fe_(3)O_(4) phase change composites(PCCs)with excel-lent shape stability,EMI shielding and thermal management capabilities were prepared via a simple vac-uum impregnation method.The Fe_(3)O_(4) magnetic particles modified PCCs have greatly improved the EMI shielding effectiveness(SE).The EMI SE of WP-4(7.5 wt.% Fe_(3)O_(4) in PEG)can be up to 55.08 dB between 8.2−12.4 GHz,however,the WP-0 without Fe_(3)O_(4) addition is only 40.08 dB.Meanwhile,the absorption ratio of electromagnetic waves(EMW)has also increased from 75.02%(WP-0)to 85.56%(WP-4),which effectively prevents secondary pollution.In addition,after wrapping a thin layer of polydimethylsiloxane resin(PDMS),the obtained WP-4 can maintain a high heat storage capacity(109.52 J/g)and good wa-ter stability.In short,the prepared WPC/PEG/Fe_(3)O_(4) PCCs have great potential application value in the thermal management and electromagnetic shielding requirements for electronic devices. | Shuang Liu Mengjie Sheng Hao Wu Xuetao Shi Xiang Lu Jinping Qu | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,18: | 3 |
| 7 | Melt Rheology of Poly(Lactic Acid) Plasticized by Epoxidized Soybean Oil显示文摘This study investigated that epoxidized soybean oil(ESO) was blended as plasticizer with poly(lactic acid)(PLA) and its effects on the melt rheological properties,such as melt flow index,apparent shear viscosity,and melt strength of the blends.PLA was blended by the twin-screw plastic extruder at five mass fractions:3%,6%,9%,12%,and 15%(based on PLA mass).Melt flow index(MFI) was examined with a melt flow indexer.The results indicate that the blends of PLA/ESO had higher MFI than pure PLA,except for MFI at 9% reaching to the lowest point,even lower than that of pure PLA.Melt rheological properties were studied by a capillary rheometer in a temperature range of 160-180 ℃ .The blends exhibited shear-thinning behavior and the apparent shear viscosity was well described by the power law in this shear rate region.The melt strength of PLA plasticized with 6% ESO reached the maximums.ESO was more effective in increasing the melt strength at the mass fractions less than 6%,which could toughen the blends to some extent.Therefore,the authors suggested the optimum addition level of 6%-9% ESO will get good melt rheological performance balance. | XU Yuqiong YOU Min QU Jinping | 2009 | Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences2009,14,4: | 2 |

| 9 | Rapid detection of Cyfra 21-1 by optical-biosensing based on chemiluminescence immunoassay using bio-functionlized magnetic nanocomposites显示文摘This letter reports a chemiluminescene immunoassay method combined with immunomagnetic separation to rapidly detect Cyfra 21-1, in which bio-functionlized magnetic nanocomposites were used as mobile substrate for capturing and isolating the cyfra 21-1 proteins. After the captured Cyfra 21-1 further reacted with horseradish peroxidase-conjugated anti-Cyfra 21-1 antibody to form a sandwich immunocomplex, the chemiluminescence would be produced as a result of addition of the chemiluminescent substrate. A home-made optical biosensor was designed to detect the chemiluminescence instead of other large instruments. There is a good linear response between the chemiluminescence intensity and the concentration of Cyfra 21-1 in the range from 0.2 to 50 ng/mL. The whole detection process including incubation, washing and detection could be performed within 45 min.
