Research of Water Quality Analysis,Treatment and Reuse Technology for Rainwater on the North University Campus显示文摘The pollution situation of different underlying surface and the change rule of each water quality index were researched,on the basis of rainwater quality monitoring by different approaches in a university campus. The results showed that due to some factors, such as the underlying surface material pollution, road materials, road surface pollution condition and surrounding atmospheric environment quality, the pollution of different underlying surface rainwater would be different. Main pollutants of rainwater runoff in the city campus area were such as COD,SS,NH_3-N,TP,etc. Ultimately, along with the increase of accumulated rainfall, the pollutants tended to gradually decrease. The road rain pollution was more serious than roof runoff pollution and the early rain pollution was serious, but the late rain water quality was much better. According to the rainwater conditions, subsequent rainwater recycling technology and processing technology were determined as a way to alleviate the problem of water shortage and water pollution. | Chen Shufang Shi Jingwei Shao Yanjun Tu Chao | 2018 | Meteorological and Environmental Research2018,9,1: | 1
Systematic investigation of millimeter-wave optic modulation performance in thin-film lithium niobate显示文摘Millimeter-wave(mmWave)band(30–300 GHz)is an emerging spectrum range for wireless communication,short-range radar, and sensor applications.mmWave-optic modulators that could efficiently convert mmWave signals into the optical domain are crucial components for long-haul transmission of mmWave signals through optical networks. At these ultrahigh frequencies, however, the modulation performances are highly sensitive to the transmission line loss as well as the velocity-and impedance-matching conditions, while precise measurements and modeling of these parameters are often non-trivial.Here we present a systematic investigation of the mmWave-optic modulation performances of thin-film lithium niobate modulators through theoretical modeling, electrical verifications, and electro-optic measurements at frequencies up to 325 GHz.Based on our experimentally verified model,we demonstrate thin-film lithium niobate mmWave-optic modulators with a measured 3-dB electro-optic bandwidth of 170 GHz and a 6-dB bandwidth of 295 GHz.The device also shows a low RF half-wave voltage of 7.3 V measured at an ultrahigh modulation frequency of 250 GHz.This work provides a comprehensive guideline for the design and characterization of mmWave-optic modulators and paves the way toward future integrated mmWave photonic systems for beyond-5G communication and radar applications. | YIWEN ZHANG LINBO SHAO JINGWEI YANG ZHAOXI CHEN KE ZHANG KAM-MAN SHUM DI ZHU CHI HOU CHAN MARKO LONČAR CHENG WANG | 2022 | Photonics Research2022,10,10: | 1

Recent advances of sorafenib nanoformulations for cancer therapy:Smart nanosystem and combination therapy显示文摘Sorafenib,a molecular targeted multi-kinase inhibitor, has received considerable interests in recent years due to its significant profiles of efficacy in cancer therapy. However, poor pharmacokinetic properties such as limited water solubility, rapid elimination and metabolism lead to low bioavailability, restricting its further clinical application.Over the past decade, with substantial progress achieved in the development of nanotechnology, various types of smart sorafenib nanoformulations have been developed to improve the targetability as well as the bioavailability of sorafenib. In this review,we summarize various aspects from the preparation and characterization to the evaluation of antitumor efficacy of numerous stimuli-responsive sorafenib nanodelivery systems, particularly with emphasis on their mechanism of drug release and tumor microenvironment response. In addition, this review makes great effort to summarize the nanosystem-based combination therapy of sorafenib with other antitumor agents, which can provide detailed information for further synergistic cancer therapy. In the final section of this review,we also provide a detailed discussion of future challenges and prospects of designing and developing ideal sorafenib nanoformulations for clinical cancer therapy. | Fangmin Chen Yifan Fang Xiang Chen Rui Deng Yongjie Zhang Jingwei Shao | 2021 | Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2021,16,3: | 1
The epidemiology and therapeutic options for the COVID-19显示文摘An outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),a disease caused by a novel pneumonia virus, has affected over 200 countries and regions worldwide. With the increasing number of patients and deaths,WHO have declared it as a global pandemic currently, indicating a third large-scale epidemic coronavirus has appeared since the emergence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus(SARS)and Middle-East respiratory syndrome(MERS)in the twenty-first century.Considering the great harm it has caused, researchers throughout the world have been chasing to exploit the pathophysiology, characteristics, and potential remedies for COVID-19 to better battle the outbreak. Therefore, the current study revisits advances of the virology, epidemiology, clinical features, therapeutic options, and prevention of COVID-19.The features of asymptomatic carriers are also been explored. | Jingwei Li Jun Shao Chengdi Wang Weimin Li | 2020 | Precision Clinical Medicine2020,3,2: | 1
The heterogeneous immune landscape between lung adenocarcinoma and squamous carcinoma revealed by single-cell RNA sequencing显示文摘A thorough interrogation of the immune landscape is crucial for immunotherapy strategy selection and prediction of clinical responses in non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC)patients.Single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)techniques have prompted the opportunity to dissect the distinct immune signatures between lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD)and lung squamous cell carcinoma(LUSC),the two major subtypes of NSCLC.Here,we performed scRNA-seq on 72,475 immune cells from 40 samples of tumor and matched adjacent normal tissues spanning 19 NSCLC patients, and drew a systematic immune cell transcriptome atlas.Joint analyses of the distinct cellular compositions, differentilly expressed genes(DEGs),cell-cell interactions, pseudotime trajectory, transcriptomic factors and prognostic factors based on The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA),revealed the central roles of cytotoxic and effector T and NK cells and the distinct functional macrophages(Mo)subtypes in the immune microenvironment heterogeneity between LUAD and LUSC.The dominant subtype of Mo was FABP4-Mp in LUAD and SPP1-Mo in LUSC.Importantly,we identifieda novel lymphocyte-related Mo cluster, which we named SELENOP-Mo,and further established its antitumor role in both types, especially in LUAD.Our comprehensive depiction of the immune heterogeneity and definition of Mp clusters could help design personalized treatment for lung cancer patients in clinical practice. | Chengdi Wang Qiuxiao Yu Tingting Song Zhoufeng Wang Lujia Song Ying Yang Jun Shao Jingwei Li Yinyun Ni Ningning Chao Li Zhang Weimin Li | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,9: | 1
The long-term health outcomes, pathophysiological mechanisms and multidisciplinary management of long COVID显示文摘There have been hundreds of millions of cases of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),which is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2).With the growing population of recovered patients,it is crucial to understand the long-term consequences of the disease and management strategies.Although COVID-19 was initially considered an acute respiratory illness, recent evidence suggests that manifestations including but not limited to those of the cardiovascular, respiratory, neuropsychiatric, gastrointestinal, reproductive, and musculoskeletal systems may persist long after the acute phase. These persistent manifestations, also referred to as long COVID,could impact all patients with COVID-19 across the full spectrum of illness severity.Herein,we comprehensively review the current literature on long COVID,highlighting its epidemiological understanding, the impact of vaccinations,organ-specific sequelae, pathophysiological mechanisms, and multidisciplinary management strategies. In addition, the impact of psychological and psychosomatic factors is also underscored.Despite these crucial findings on long COVID,the current diagnostic and therapeutic strategies based on previous experience and pilot studies remain inadequate, and well-designed clinical trials should be prioritized to validate existing hypotheses. Thus,we propose the primary challenges concerning biological knowledge gaps and efficient remedies as well as discuss the corresponding recommendations. | Jingwei Li Yun Zhou Jiechao Ma Qin Zhang Jun Shao Shufan Liang Yizhou Yu Weimin Li Chengdi Wang | 2023 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,12: | 0
Novel tools for early diagnosis and precision treatment based on artificial intelligence显示文摘Lung cancer has the highest mortality rate among all cancers in the world.Hence, early diagnosis and personal-ized treatment plans are crucial to improving its 5-year survival rate.Chest computed tomography(CT)serves as an essential tool for lung cancer screening, and pathology images are the gold standard for lung cancer diagnosis. However, medical image evaluation relies on manual labor and suffers from missed diagnosis or misdiagnosis, and physician heterogeneity. The rapid development of artificial intelligence(AI)has brought a whole novel op-portunity for medical task processing, demonstrating the potential for clinical application in lung cancer diagnosis and treatment.AI technologies, including machine learning and deep learning, have been deployed extensively for lung nodule detection, benign and malignant classification, and subtype identification based on CT images.Furthermore,AI plays a role in the non-invasive prediction of genetic mutations and molecular status to provide the optimal treatment regimen, and applies to the assessment of therapeutic efficacy and prognosis of lung cancer patients, enabling precision medicine to become a reality.Meanwhile,histology-based AI models assist patholo-gists in typing, molecular characterization, and prognosis prediction to enhance the efficiency of diagnosis and treatment. However, the leap to extensive clinical application still faces various challenges, such as data sharing, standardized label acquisition, clinical application regulation, and multimodal integration.Nevertheless,AI holds promising potential in the field of lung cancer to improve cancer care. | Jun Shao Jiaming Feng Jingwei Li Shufan Liang Weimin Li Chengdi Wang | 2023 | Chinese Medical Journal Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine2023,1,3: | 0
Efficacy of Ganshuang granules(肝爽颗粒)on non-alcoholic fatty liver and underlying mechanism:a network pharmacology and experimental verification显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the potential pharmacological mechanisms of Ganshuang granules(肝爽颗粒,GSG)in treating non-alcoholic fatty liver(NAFLD).METHODS:All the active components and targets of GSG were retrieved from the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform.Protein-Protein interaction network,Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes and Gene Ontology function annotation of common targets were analyzed to predict the mechanisms of action of GSG in the treatment of NAFLD.Then, the mouse models of NAFLD were constructed in a diet-induced manner and treated with GSG.The levels of interleukin 6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α)and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B(PI3K/AKT)pathway-related proteins in the liver of mice in each group were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay and Western blot, respectively.RESULTS:Network pharmacology revealed a total of 159 potential targets of GSG for the treatment of NAFLD.Functional enrichment analysis indicated that the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway may be involved during GSG treatment of NAFLD.Further experiments showed that the significantly decreased alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, total cholesterol, triglyceride and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels in NAFLD model mice serum after GSG treatment,as well as the expression levels of IL-6 and TNF-αin the liver.Furthermore, drug intervention increased the protein expression levels of phosphorylated-PI3K(P-PI3K)and P-AKT in the liver of the model group mice, and decreased the protein expression level of sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1.CONCLUSION:We found that GSG is effective in treating NAFLD and the potential therapeutic targets may be involved in PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. | ZHI Guoguo SHAO Bingjie ZHENG Tianyan JI Shaoxiu LI Jingwei DANG Yanni LIU Feng WANG Dong | 2024 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2024,44,1: | 0
Research progress and application of the CRISPR/Cas9 gene-editing technology based on hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is now a common cause of cancer death, with no obvious change in patient survival over the past few years.Although the traditional therapeutic modalities for HCC patients mainly involved in surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy, which have achieved admirable achievements, challenges are still existed, such as drug resistance and toxicity. The emerging gene therapy of clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat/CRISPR-associated nuclease 9-based(CRISPR/Cas9),as an alternative to traditional treatment methods, has attracted considerable attention for eradicating resistant malignant tumors and regulating multiple crucial events of target gene-editing.Recently,advances in CRISPR/Cas9-based anti-drugs are presented at the intersection of science, such as chemistry, materials science, tumor biology, and genetics. In this review, the principle as well as statues of CRISPR/Cas9 technique were introduced first to show its feasibility.Additionally, the emphasis was placed on the applications of CRISPR/Cas9 technology in therapeutic HCC.Further,a broad overview of non-viral delivery systems for the CRISPR/Cas9-based anti-drugs in HCC treatment was summarized to delineate their design, action mechanisms, and anticancer applications. Finally, the limitations and prospects of current studies were also discussed, and we hope to provide comprehensively theoretical basis for the designing of anti-drugs. | Shijing Yu Ruirui Zhao Bingchen Zhang Chunmei Lai Linyan Li Jiangwen Shen Xiarong Tan Jingwei Shao | 2023 | Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2023,18,4: | 0
Temporal dynamics of microglia-astrocyte interaction in neuroprotective glial scar formation after intracerebral hemorrhage显示文摘The role of glial scar after intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH)remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate whether microglia-astrocyte interaction affects glial scar formation and explore the specific function of glial scar.We used a pharmacologic approach to induce microglial depletion during different ICH stages and examine how ablating microglia affects astrocytic scar formation.Spatial transcriptomics(ST)analysis was performed to explore the potential ligand-receptor pair in the modulation of microglia-astrocyte interaction and to verify the functional changes of astrocytic scars at different periods.During the early stage, sustained microglial depletion induced disorganized astrocytic scar, enhanced neutrophil infiltration, and impaired tissue repair.ST analysis indicated that microglia-derived insulin like growth factor 1(IGF1)modulated astrocytic scar formation via mechanistic target of rapamycin(mTOR)signaling activation. Moreover, repopulating microglia(RM)more strongly activated mTOR signaling, facilitating a more protective scar formation. The combination of IGF1 and osteopontin(OPN)was necessary and sufficient for RM function, rather than IGF1 or OPN alone. At the chronic stage of ICH,the overall net effect of astrocytic scar changed from protective to destructive and delayed microglial depletion could partly reverse this. The vital insight gleaned from our data is that sustained microglial depletion may not be a reasonable treatment strategy for early-stage ICH.Inversely,early-stage IGF1/OPN treatment combined with late-stage PLX3397 treatment is a promising therapeutic strategy. This prompts us to consider the complex temporal dynamics and overall net effect of microglia and astrocytes, and develop elaborate treatment strategies at precise time points after ICH. | Jingwei Zheng Haijian Wu Xiaoyu Wang Guoqiang Zhang Jia'nan Lu Weilin Xu Shenbin Xu Yuanjian Fang Anke Zhang Anwen Shao Sheng Chen Zhen Zhao Jianmin Zhang Jun Yu | 2023 | Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2023,13,8: | 0
