2The grafts modified by heparinization and catalytic nitric oxide generation used for vascular implantation in rats显示文摘Small-diameter(<6mm)vascular grafts are increasingly needed in peripheral vascular surgery but have few successes because of acute thrombosis,incomplete endothelialization and intimal hyperplasia after implantation.This study used electrospun poly(ε-caprolactone)as the matrix material.Heparin and selenium-containing catalyst-organoselenium modified polyethyleneimine were introduced through layer-by-layer assembly in order to build a vascular graft with in situ nitric oxide(NO)generation.The aim of this study was to explore the application of the graft with improved histocompatibility and biological function for vascular implantation in rats.After implantation in rats,compared to poly(ε-caprolactone),the modified grafts could promote the adhesion and proliferation of endothelial cells,and inhibit the adhesion of smooth muscle cells.The modified grafts remarkably promoted endothelialization,inhibited intimal hyperplasia and increased the ratio of alternatively activated macrophages(M2)to classical activated macrophages(M1).This work constructed a vascular graft with heparinization and catalytic NO generation for improving the vascularization,and accelerating the tissue regeneration by regulating the inflammatory response.The present study indicates that it is a promising method for regulating response and tissue regeneration of small diameter vascular grafts by a novel approach of combining heparinization and catalytic NO generation.Jingchen Gao Li Jiang Qinge Liang Jie Shi Ding Hou Di Tang Siyuan Chen Deling Kong hufangWang 2018Regenerative Biomaterials2018,5,2:4
3Blockading a new NSCLC immunosuppressive target by pluripotent autologous tumor vaccines magnifies sequential immunotherapy显示文摘The presence of multiple immunosuppressive targets and insufficient activation and infiltration of cytotoxic T lymphocytes(CTLs)allow tumor cells to escape immune surveillance and disable anti-PD-1/PD-L1 immunotherapy.Nanobiotechnology-engineered autologous tumor vaccines(ATVs)that were camouflaged by tumor cell membrane(TCM)were designed to activate and facilitate CTLs infiltration for killing the unprotected lung tumor cells,consequently realizing the sequential immunotherapy.PDE5 was firstly screened out as a new immunosuppressive target of lung cancer in clinical practice.Immediately afterwards,phosphodiesterase-5(PDE5)and programmed cell death 1 ligand 1(PD-L1)dual-target co-inhibition was proposed to unfreeze the immunosuppressive microenvironment of NSCLC.Systematic studies validated that this ATVs-unlocked sequential immunotherapy after co-encapsulating PDE5 inhibitor and NO donor(i.e.,L-arginine)exerted robust anti-tumor effects through increasing inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS)expression,blockading PDE5 pathway and activating systematic immune responses,which synergistically eradicated local and abscopal lung cancers in either orthotopic or subcutaneous models.The pluripotent ATVs that enable PDE5 inhibition and sequential immunotherapy provide a new avenue to mitigate immunosuppressive microenvironment and magnify anti-PD-1/PD-L1 immunotherapy.Hong Wu Hongyan Li Yiqiang Liu Jingchen Liang Qianshi Liu Zhigang Xu Zhongzhu Chen Xia Zhang Kun Zhang Chuan Xu 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,7:1

5Ecological sustainability assessment of the carbon footprint in Fujian Province,southeast China显示文摘China’s rapid economic development has initiated the deterioration of its ecological environment,posing a threat to the sustainable development of human society.As a result,an assessment of regional sustainability is critical.This paper researches China’s most forested province,Fujian Province,as the study area.We proposed a grid-based approach to assess the regional carbon footprint in accordance with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s(IPCC)carbon emission guidelines.Our method of assessment also introduced carbon emission indicators with our improved and published Net Primary Production(NPP)based on process simulation.The carbon footprint in Fujian Province from 2005-2017 was calculated and examined from a spatiotemporal perspective.Ecological indicators were used in the sustainability assessment.The research draws the following conclusions:1)the carbon footprint in the eastern regions of Fujian Province was higher due to rapid economic development;2)that of the western regions was lower;3)an uptrend in the carbon footprint of Fujian Province was observed.All five ecological indicators based on carbon emissions and economic and social data showed an ecologically unsustainable trend over 13 years in the research area due to unsustainable economic development.Therefore,it is urgent to balance the relationship between economic development and environmental protection.Our research provides scientific references for achieving ecological civilization and sustainability in a similar region.Jingyu ZENG Rongrong ZHANG Jia TANG Jingchen LIANG Jinghan LI Yue ZENG Yefan LI Qing ZHANG Wei SHUI Qianfeng WANG 2021Frontiers of Earth Science2021,15,1:1
