4Computational Intelligent Techniques To Detect DDOS Attacks:A Survey显示文摘The Internet is often targeted by the Distributed Denial of Service(DDOS)Attacks that deliberately utilize resources and bandwidth to prohibit access to potential users. The attack possibility is that the packets are filled massively.A DOS attack is launched by a single source, while a DDOS attack is originated from numerous resources.DDoS attacks are not capable of stealing website user’s information. The prime motive of the DDoS attacks is to devastate the website resources.Distributed Denial of Service(DDoS)attacks are disruptive to internet access on the Network. The attitude of the customer to get fast and reliable services can be seriously influenced by DDoS attackers. In the digital era of today, cases of DDoS attacks have also been exceeded in the wireless, smartphone, and IoT attacks with catastrophic implications. We will soon be experiencing the 5G smartphone rebellion, but there are indications that 5G networks too are becoming victim to DDoS attacks but the existing DDoS detection and protection strategies are not able to handle DDOS attacks successfully therefore, thorough research on implementing computational intelligent strategies in the detection and defense techniques has been performed to recognize, mitigate, and avoid these attacks. But the most suitable and efficient defense strategy for these attacks remains an issue to be addressed in the future. This review article concentrates on the most prevalent methods of detection and defense against DDoS attacks that incorporate computational intelligence. The analysis describes attacks and explains them. The key factors relevant to the detection of DDOS attacks are included in this research like methods, tools, and detection accuracy. Finally, various challenges attached to the detection of DDOS attacks and research gaps are depicted.Isha Sood Varsha Sharma 2021Journal of Cyber Security2021,3,2:0
5Technologies Behind the Smart Grid and Internet of Things: A System Survey显示文摘Electric smart grids enable a bidirectional flow of electricity and information among power system assets. For proper monitoring and con-trolling of power quality, reliability, scalability and flexibility, there is a need for an environmentally friendly system that is transparent,sustainable,cost-saving,energy-efficient,agile and secure. This paper provides an overview of the emerging technologies behind smart grids and the internet of things. The dependent variables are identified by analyzing the electricity consumption patterns for optimal utilization and planning preventive maintenance of their legacy assets like power distribution transformers with real-time parameters to ensure an uninterrupted and reliable power supply. In addition, the paper sorts out challenges in the traditional or legacy electricity grid, power generation, transmission, distribution, and revenue management challenges such as reduc-ing aggregate technical and commercial loss by reforming the existing manual or semi-automatic techniques to fully smart or automatic systems. This article represents a concise review of research works in creating components of the smart grid like smart metering infrastructure for postpaid as well as in prepaid mode, internal structure comparison of advanced metering methods in present scenarios, and communication systems.Kuldeep Sharma Arun Malik Isha Batra A.S.M.Sanwar Hosen Md Abdul Latif Sarker Dong Seog Han 2023Computers, Materials & Continua2023,,6:0
6Effect of westernization on oral health among college students of Udaipur City,India显示文摘Background:There is overwhelming evidence that periodontal disease and dental caries affect the majority of populations and that western culture and lifestyle may have a profound influence on oral health, especially in adults. The present study was performed to determine the effect of westernization on the oral health of college students of Udaipur City,Rajasthan. Methods:A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among students attending various professional and non-professional bachelor's degree colleges of Udaipur City,Rajasthan,India, from March 2013 to May 2013.Eight hundred students were selected based on a two-stage random sampling procedure.Westernization was assessed by a self-administered structured questionnaire.Periodontal status, dental caries status and malocclusion were assessed according to World Health Organization(WHO) criteria(1997).Statistical analysis was performed using Chi-square and Multivariate logistic regression. The confidence level and level of significance were set at 95% and 5%,respectively.Results:The present study suggested that adverse habits, listening to English music and preferring English food had a significant association with dental caries and periodontal diseases.Malocclusion also showed a significant relationship with consuming English food for snacks and desserts.Multivariate analysis revealed a significantly greater odds ratio(OR) for periodontal disease and dental caries among those who preferred English food for lunch. Conclusion:Based on the results of the present study, there is an association between westernization and oral health.Piyush Pujara Neeraj Sharma Rujul Jayeshkumar Parikh Maitri Shah Shachi Parikh Vivek Vadera Manpreet Kaur Isha Makkar Mayur Parmar Pratik Rupakar Shrikant Patel 2016Journal of Medical Colleges of PLA(China)2016,31,4:0
7A review on re-emerging bacteriophage therapy in the era of XDR显示文摘In the present medicine world antibiotic resistance is one of the key threats to universal health coverage.Researchers continue to work hard to combat this global health concern.Phage therapy,an age-old practice during the early twentieth century, was outshined by the discovery of antibiotics. With the advent of widespread antibiotic resistance, phage therapy has again redeemed itself as a potential alternative owing to its adeptness to target bacteria precisely.Limited side effects, the ability to migrate to different body organs,a distinct mode of action, and proliferation at the infection site, make phages a profitable candidate to replace conventional antibiotics. The progressive outcome of numerous in vitro studies and case reports has validated the clinical efficacy of phage therapy. The bright perspective of using phages to treat bacterial infections has fueled enormous medical research to exploit their potential as therapeutics. The gaps in the information about phages and the lack of consent for clinical trials is major hurdle for consideration of phage therapy.Crafting phage therapy as a reality in medicine requires a coordinated effort from different fraternities. With this review,we aim to emphasize the importance of phage therapy in modern medicine. This review explains their historical journey, basic phage biology,cross-talk with the host immunity, obstacles with phage therapy, and their possible remedies.Comprehensive data on the various significant clinical trials of phage therapy has been presented. We evaluated the efficacy of antibiotics and phage therapy in part and in combination, along with recent progress and future perspectives of phage therapy.POOJA BHADORIYA RICHA SHARMA REKHA MEHROTRA SIMRAN KAUR ISHA SRIVASTAVA MUKUL JAIN PRASHANT KAUSHIK 2023BIOCELL2023,47,9:0
