2Identification and mapping of genes for improving yield from Chinese common wild rice (O.rufipogon Griff.) using advanced backcross QTL analysis显示文摘To identify useful genes from wild rice which have been lost or weakened in cultivated rice has become more and more important for modern breeding strategy. In this study, a BC4 population derived from 94W1, an accession of common wild rice (Oryza rufipogon Griff.) from Dongxiang in Jiangxi Province of China, as the donor, and a high-yielding Indica cultivar (O. sativa L.), 'Guichao 2', as the recipient, was used to identify quantitative trait loci (QTL) associated with yield and its components. Based on the analysis for the genotype of BC4F1 population with 87 SSR markers distributed throughout the genome and investigation of the plant height, yield and yield components of BC4F2, a total of 52 QTLs, were detected. Of 7 QTLs associated with grain yield per plant, 2 QTLs on chromosome 2 and chromosome 11 for grain yield, explaining 16% and 11% of the phenotypic variance respectively, were identified. 5Constraining the stepwise migration of the eastern Tibetan Plateau margin by apatite fission track thermochronology显示文摘Granites sampled from Garzê-Litang thrust, Longmen Shan thrust, Garzê and Litang strike-slip faults in the eastern Tibetan Plateau have been analyzed with apatite fission track thermochronological method in this study. The measured fission track apparent ages, combined with the simulated annealing mod- eling of the thermal history, have been used to reconstruct the thermal evolutionary histories of the samples and interpret the active history of the thrusts and faults in these areas. Thermal history mod- eling shows that earlier tectonic cooling occurred in the Garzê-Litang thrust in Miocene (~20―16 Ma) whereas the later cooling occurred mainly in the Longmen Shan thrust since ~5 Ma. Our study sug- gests that the margin of eastern Tibetan Plateau was extended by stages: through strike-slip faults deformations and related thrusts, the upper crust formed the Garzê-Litang margin in the Miocene epoch and then moved to the Longmen Shan margin since ~5 Ma. 6LHD1,an Allele of DTH8/Ghd8,Controls Late Heading Date in Common Wild Rice (Oryza rufipogon)显示文摘Flowering at suitable time is very important for plants to adapt to complicated environments and produce their seeds successfully for reproduction.In rice (Oryza rufipogon Griff.) photoperiod regulation is one of the important factors for controlling heading date.Common wild rice,the ancestor of cultivated rice,exhibits a late heading date and a more sensitive photoperiodic response than cultivated rice.Here,through map-based cloning,we identified a major quantitative trait loci (QTL) LHD1 (Late Heading Date 1),an allele of DTH8/Ghd8,which controls the late heading date of wild rice and encodes a putative HAP3/NF-YB/CBF-A subunit of the CCAAT-box-binding transcription factor.Sequence analysis revealed that several variants in the coding region of LHD1 were correlated with a late heading date,and a further complementary study successfully rescued the phenotype.These results suggest that a functional site for LHD1 could be among those variants present in the coding region.We also found that LHD1 could down-regulate the expression of several floral transition activators such as Ehd1,Hd3a and RFT1 under long-day conditions,but not under short-day conditions.This indicates that LHD1 may delay flowering by repressing the expression of Ehd1,Hd3a and RFT1 under long-day conditions.Xiaodong Dai Younian Ding Lubin Tan Yongcai Fu Fengxia Liu Zuofeng Zhu Xianyou Sun Xuewen Sun Ping Gu Hongwei Cai Chuanqing Sun 2012Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2012,54,10:23
7Natural Variations at TIG1 Encoding a TCP Tran scription Factor Contribute to Plant Architecture Domestication in Rice显示文摘The modification of plant architecture is a crucial target in rice domestication and modern genetic improvement.Although several genes regulating rice plant architecture have been characterized,the molecular mechanisms underlying rice plant architecture domestication remain largely unclear.Here we show that the inclined tiller growth in wild rice is controlled by a single dominant gene,TILLER INCLINED GROWTH 1 (T/Gf),which is located on chromosome 8 and encodes a TCP transcriptional activator.TIG1 is primarily expressed in the adaxial side of the tiller base,promotes cell elongation,and enlarges the tiller angle in wild rice.Variations in the TIG1 promoter of indica cultivars {tig1 allele) resulted in decreased expression of TIG1 in the adaxial side of tiller base and reduced cell length and tiller angle,leading to the transition from inclined tiller growth in wild rice to erect tiller growth during rice domestication.TIG1 positively regulates the expression of EXP A3,EXPB5,and SAUR39 to promote cell elongation and increase the tiller angle.Selective sweep analysis revealed that the tig1 allele was selected in indica cultivars by human beings.The cloning and characterization of TIG1 supports a new scenario of plant architecture evolution in rice.Weifeng Zhang Lubin Tan Hongying Sun Xinhui Zhao Fengxia Liu Hongwei Cai Yongcai Fu Xianyou Sun Ping Gu Zuofeng Zhu Chuanqing Sun 2019Molecular Plant2019,12,8:13

9Highly enhanced visible-light photocatalytic NOx purification and conversion pathway on self-structurally modified g-C-3N4 nanosheets显示文摘The unmodified graphitic carbon nitride(g-C_3N_4) suffers from low photocatalytic activity because of the unfavourable structure.In the present work,we reported a simple self-structural modification strategy to optimize the microstructure of g-C_3N_4 and obtained graphene-like g-C_3N_4 nanosheets with porous structure.In contrast to traditional thermal pyrolysis preparation of g-C_3N_4,the present thermal condensation was improved via pyrolysis of thiourea in an alumina crucible without a cover,followed by secondary heat treatment.The popcorn-like formation and layer-by-layer thermal exfoliation of graphene-like porous g-C_3N_4 was proposed to explain the formation mechanism.The photocatalytic removal performance of both NO and NO_2 with the graphene-like porous g-C_3N_4 for was significantly enhanced by selfstructural modification.Trapping experiments and in-situ diffuse reflectance infrared fourier transform spectroscopy(DRIFTS) measurement were conducted to detect the active species during photocatalysis and the conversion pathway of g-C_3N_4 photocatalysis for NO_x purification was revealed.The photocatalytic activity of graphene-like porous g-C_3N_4 was highly enhanced due to the improved charge separation and increased oxidation capacity of the ·O_2^- radicals and holes.This work could not only provide a novel self-structural modification for design of highly efficient photocatalysts,but also offer new insights into the mechanistic understanding of g-C_3N_4 photocatalysis.Yuhan Li Yanjuan Sun Wingkei Ho Yuxin Zhang Hongwei Huang Qiang Cai Fan Dong 2018Science Bulletin2018,63,10:7
10Convergence rate of kernel canonical correlation analysis显示文摘Kernel canonical correlation analysis(CCA) is a nonlinear extension of CCA,which aims at extract-ing the information shared by two random variables. It has wide applications in many fields,such as information retrieval. This paper gives the convergence rate analysis of kernel CCA under some approximation conditions and some suggestions on how to choose the regularization parameter. 11Identification and classification of subspecies of Asian cultivated rice and their hybrids显示文摘Having reviewed the major classification systems proposed by various scholars across the world, it is found that \%indica\% and \%japonica\% under \%O.sativa\% L. are two major directions thoroughly differentiated from the Asian cultivated rice, forming the framework of the classification structure. 12Analysis of QTLs for yield-related traits in Yuanjiang common wild rice (Oryza rufipogon Griff.)显示文摘Using an accession of common wild rice (Oryza rufipogon Griff.) collected from Yuanjiang County, Yunnan Province, China, as the donor and an elite cultivar 93-11, widely used in two-line indica hybrid rice production in China, as the recurrent parent, an advanced backcross populations were developed. Through genotyping of 187 SSR markers and investigation of six yield-related traits of two gen- erations (BC4F2 and BC4F4), a total of 26 QTLs were detected by employing single point analysis and interval mapping in both genera-tions. Of the 26 QTLs, the alleles of 10 (38.5%) QTLs originating from O. rufipogon had shown a beneficial effect for yield-related traits in the 93-11 genetic background. In addition, five QTLs controlling yield and its components were newly identified, indicating that there are potentially novel alleles in Yuanjiang common wild rice. Three regions underling significant QTLs for several yield-related traits were detected on chromosome 1, 7 and 12. The QTL clusters were founded and corresponding agronomic traits of those QTLs showed highly significant correlation, suggesting the pleiotropism or tight linkage. 13Identification and Fine Mapping of rhm1 Locus for Resistance to Southern Corn Leaf Blight in Maize显示文摘rhm1 is a major recessive disease resistance locus for Southern corn leaf blight (SCLB).To further narrow down its genetic position,F 2 population and BC 1 F 1 population derived from the cross between resistant (H95 rhm) and susceptible parents (H95) of maize (Zea mays) were constructed.Using newly developed markers,rhm1 was initially delimited within an interval of 2.5 Mb,and then finally mapped to a 8.56 kb interval between InDel marker IDP961-503 and simple sequence repeat (SSR) marker A194149-1.Three polymorphic markers IDP961-504,IDP B2-3 and A194149-2 were shown to be co-segregated with the rhm1 locus.Sequence analysis of the 8.56 kb DNA fragment revealed that it contained only one putative gene with a predicted amino acid sequence identical to lysine histidine transporter 1 (LHT1).Comparative sequence analysis indicated that the LHT1 in H95 rhm harbors a 354 bp insertion in its third exon as compared with that of susceptible alleles in B73,H95 and Mo17.The 354 bp insertion resulted in a truncation of the predicted protein of candidate resistance allele (LHT1-H95 rhm).Our results strongly suggest LHT1 as the candidate gene for rhm1 against SCLB.The tightly linked molecular markers developed in this study can be directly used for molecular breeding of resistance to Southern corn leaf blight in maize.Yuanzeng Zhao Xiaomin Lu Chaoxian Liu Haiying Guan Mei Zhang Zhongfeng Li Hongwei Cai Jinsheng Lai 2012Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2012,54,5:4
14Gaseous and Electrochemical Hydrogen Storage Kinetics of As-quenched Nanocrystalline and Amorphous Mg_2Ni-type Alloys显示文摘The nanocrystalline and amorphous Mg2Ni-type Mg2Ni1-xCox (x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4) alloys were synthesized by melt quenching technology. The structures of the as-cast and quenched alloys were characterized by XRD, SEM and HRTEM. The gaseous hydrogen storage kinetics of the alloys was measured using an automatically controlled Sieverts apparatus. The alloy electrodes were charged and discharged with a constant current density in order to investigate the electrochemical hydrogen storage kinetics of the alloys. The results demonstrate that the substitution of Co for Ni results in the formation of secondary phases MgCo2 and Mg instead of altering the major phase Mg2Ni. No amorphous phase is detected in the as-quenched Cofree alloy, however, a certain amount of amorphous phase is clearly found in the as-quenched alloys substituted by Co. 18Optical Rotation Detection for Atomic Spin Precession Using a Superluminescent Diode显示文摘A superluminescent diode (SLD) as an alternative of laser is used to detect optical rotation for atomic spin precession. A more uniform Gauss configuration without additional beam shaping and a relatively high power of the SLD have a potential for atomic magnetometers, which is demonstrated in theory and experiments. 20Characterization of the immune defense related tissues,cells,and genes in amphioxus显示文摘Amphioxus is an important animal model for phylogenetic analysis,including comparative immunology.Exploring the immune system in amphioxus contributes to our understanding of the origin and evolution of the vertebrate immune system.We investigated the amphioxus immune system using ultrastructural examination and in situ hybridization.The expression patterns of TLR1(toll-like receptor 1),C1Q(complement component 1,q subcomponent),ECSIT(evolutionarily conserved signaling intermediate in Toll pathways),SoxC,DDAHa(Dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase a),and NOS(nitric oxide synthase) show that these genes play key roles in amphioxus immunity.Our results suggest that the epidermis and alimentary canal epithelium may play important roles in immune defense,while macrophages located in the coelom and so-called lymph spaces may also be crucial immune cells.LIN YuShuang CHEN DongYan ZHANG Wei CAI ZhaoPing CHEN ZhongKe ZHANG Ning MAO BingYu ZHANG HongWei 2011Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,11:2
