Large-scale real-world radio signal recognition with deep learning显示文摘In the past ten years, many high-quality datasets have been released to support the rapid development of deep learning in the fields of computer vision, voice, and natural language processing. Nowadays, deep learning has become a key research component of the Sixth-Generation wireless systems(6G) with numerous regulatory and defense applications. In order to facilitate the application of deep learning in radio signal recognition, in this work, a large-scale real-world radio signal dataset is created based on a special aeronautical monitoring system-Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast(ADS-B). This paper makes two main contributions. First, an automatic data collection and labeling system is designed to capture over-the-air ADS-B signals in the open and real-world scenario without human participation. Through data cleaning and sorting, a high-quality dataset of ADS-B signals is created for radio signal recognition. Second, we conduct an in-depth study on the performance of deep learning models using the new dataset, as well as comparison with a recognition benchmark using machine learning and deep learning methods. Finally, we conclude this paper with a discussion of open problems in this area. | Ya TU Yun LIN Haoran ZHA Ju ZHANG Yu WANG Guan GUI Shiwen MAO | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2022,35,9: | 9

Genetically optimized on-chip wideband ultracompact reflectors and Fabry–Perot cavities显示文摘Reflectors are an essential component for on-chip integrated photonics. Here, we propose a new method for designing reflectors on the prevalent thin-film-on-insulator platform by using genetic-algorithm optimization. In simulation, the designed reflector with a footprint of only 2.16 μm× 2.16 μm can achieve ~97% reflectivity and 1 dB bandwidth as wide as 220 nm. The structure is composed of randomly distributed pixels and is highly robust against the inevitable corner rounding effect in device fabrication. In experiment, we fabricated on-chip Fabry–Perot(FP) cavities constructed from optimized reflectors. Those FP cavities have intrinsic quality factors of>2000 with the highest value beyond 4000 in a spectral width of 200 nm. The reflectivity fitted from the FP cavity resonances is >85% in the entire wavelength range of 1440–1640 nm and is beyond 95% at some wavelengths. The fabrication processes are CMOS compatible and require only one step of lithography and etch. The devices can be used as a standard module in integrated photonic circuitry for wide applications in on-chip semiconductorlaser structures and optical signal processing. | ZEJIE YU HAORAN CUI XIANKAI SUN | 2017 | Photonics Research2017,5,6: | 7
Vesicular Li3V2(PO4)3/C hollow mesoporous microspheres as an efficient cathode material for lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Vesicular lithium vanadium phosphate/carbon hollow mesoporous microspheres were fabricated using a facile polyvinylpyrrolidone-assisted aerosol-spray-assisted method and subsequent heat-treatment. While changing the content of polyvinylpyrrolidone, we found that carbon content was adjustable on the surface of lithium vanadium phosphate. By optimizing the carbon content among the composites, the electrochemical performance can be enhanced significantly. The results of electrochemical performance tests suggested that the samples exhibited good cycle performance and high discharge capability in the voltages between 3.0-4.8 V. The observed excellent electrochemical performances could be attributed to the proper content of carbon coating and the vesicular hollow mesoporous microsphere structure, increasing the transmission rate of lithium ions and reducing the structural change during charging and discharging effectively. | Hongxia Sun Haoran Du Mengkang Yu Kuangfu Huang Nan Yu Baoyou Geng | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,8: | 4

An Examination of the Predictability of Tropical Cyclone Genesis in High-Resolution Coupled Models with Dynamically Downscaled Coupled Data Assimilation Initialization显示文摘Predicting tropical cyclone(TC)genesis is of great societal importance but scientifically challenging. It requires fineresolution coupled models that properly represent air−sea interactions in the atmospheric responses to local warm sea surface temperatures and feedbacks, with aid from coherent coupled initialization. This study uses three sets of highresolution regional coupled models(RCMs)covering the Asia−Pacific(AP)region initialized with local observations and dynamically downscaled coupled data assimilation to evaluate the predictability of TC genesis in the West Pacific. The APRCMs consist of three sets of high-resolution configurations of the Weather Research and Forecasting−Regional Ocean Model System(WRF-ROMS):27-km WRF with 9-km ROMS,and 9-km WRF with 3-km ROMS.In this study,a 9-km WRF with 9-km ROMS coupled model system is also used in a case test for the predictability of TC genesis.Since the local sea surface temperatures and wind shear conditions that favor TC formation are better resolved, the enhanced-resolution coupled model tends to improve the predictability of TC genesis, which could be further improved by improving planetary boundary layer physics, thus resolving better air−sea and air−land interactions. | Mingkui LI Shaoqing ZHANG Lixin WU Xiaopei LIN Ping CHANG Gohkan DANABASOGLU Zhiqiang WEI Xiaolin YU Huiqin HU Xiaohui MA Weiwei MA Haoran ZHAO Dongning JIA Xin LIU Kai MAO Youwei MA Yingjing JIANG Xue WANG Guangliang LIU Yuhu CHEN | 2020 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2020,37,9: | 4
Joint Computation Offloading and Resource Allocation for Mobile-Edge Computing Assisted Ultra-Dense Networks显示文摘Mobile-edge computing(MEC),enabling to offload computing tasks on mobile devices towards edge servers, can reduce the terminals cost. However,a single MEC sever usually has limited computing capabilities, which can not meet a large number of terminals’requirements. In this paper,we consider an ultra-dense networks(UDN)scenario where the macro base stations(MBSs)are assisted by MEC severs. In particular,we first construct system model for MEC assisted UDN,and build the system overhead minimization.Next,in order to solve the problem,we transform the problem into three sub-problems,i.e.,offloading strategies subproblem, channel assignments subproblem, and power allocation subproblem. Then, employing joint offloading and resource allocation algorithms,we obtain the optimal joint strategy for the MEC assisted UDNs.Finally, simulations are conducted to evaluate the performance of our proposed algorithms.Numerical results show that obtained algorithms can effectively reduce the energy consumption of the system and improve the overall performance of the system. | Ya Gao Haoran Zhang Fei Yu Yujie Xia Yongpeng Shi | 2022 | Journal of Communications and Information Networks2022,7,1: | 3
Aberrant cholesterol metabolic signaling impairs antitumor immunosurveillance through natural killer T cell dysfunction in obese liver显示文摘Obesity is a major risk factor for cancers including hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)that develops from a background of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Hypercholesterolemia is a common comorbidity of obesity.Although cholesterol biosynthesis mainly occurs in the liver, its role in HCC development of obese people remains obscure.Using high-fat high-carbohydrate diet-associated orthotopic and spontaneous NAFLD-HCC mouse models,we found that hepatic cholesterol accumulation in obesity selectively suppressed natural killer T(NKT)cell-mediated antitumor immunosurveillance.Transcriptome analysis of human liver revealed aberrant cholesterol metabolism and NKT cell dysfunction in NAFLD patients.Notably,cholesterol-lowering rosuvastatin restored NKT expansion and cytotoxicity to prevent obesogenic diet-promoted HCC development. Moreover, suppression of hepatic cholesterol biosynthesis by a mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR)inhibitor vistusertib preceded tumor regression, which was abolished by NKT inactivation but not CD8^(+)T cell depletion.Mechanistically, sterol regulatory element-binding protein 2(SREBP2)-driven excessive cholesterol production from hepatocytes induced lipid peroxide accumulation and deficient cytotoxicity in NKT cells, which were supported by findings in people with obesity,NAFLD and NAFLD-HCC.This study highlights mTORC1/SREBP2/cholesterol-mediated NKT dysfunction in the tumor-promoting NAFLD liver microenvironment, providing intervention strategies that invigorating NKT cells to control HCC in the obesity epidemic. | Wenshu Tang Jingying Zhou Weiqin Yang Yu Feng Haoran Wu Myth T.S.Mok Lingyun Zhang Zhixian Liang Xiaoyu Liu Zhewen Xiong Xuezhen Zeng Jing Wang Jiahuan Lu Jingqing Li Hanyong Sun Xiaoyu Tian Philip Chun Yeung Yong Hou Heung Man Lee Candice C.H.Lam Howard H.W.Leung Anthony W.H.Chan Ka Fai To John Wong Paul B.S.Lai Kelvin K.C.Ng Simon K.H.Wong Vincent W.S.Wong Alice P.S.Kong Joseph J.Y.Sung Alfred S.L.Cheng | 2022 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,7: | 3

Wafer-scale patterned growth of type-II Dirac semimetal platinum ditelluride for sensitive room-temperature terahertz photodetection显示文摘As the lastly unexplored electromagnetic wave, terahertz(THz)radiation has been exploited in a plenty of contexts such as fundamental research, military and civil fields. Most recently, representative two-dimensional(2D)topological semimetal, platinum ditelluride(PtTe_(2))has attracted considerable research interest in THz detection due to its unique physical properties. However,to achieve practical applications, the low-cost,large-scale,controllable synthesis and efficient patterning of 2D materials are key requirements, which remain a challenge for PtTe_(2)and its photodetectors(PDs).Herein,a facile approach is developed to obtain waferscale(2-inches)patterned PtTe_(2)arrays using one-step tellurium-vapor transformation method and micro-Nano technology.PtTe_(2)PD arrays are fabricated with the as-grown PtTe_(2)arrays evenly distributed on a 2-inch wafer, exhibiting high conductivity(~2.7×105 S m^(-1))and good electrical consistency.Driven by the Dirac fermions,PtTe_(2)PDs achieve a broadband(0.02-0.3 THz)response with a fast response speed(~4.7μs),a high sensitivity(~47 pW Hz^(-1/2))and high-resolution transmission THz-imaging capability, which displays the potential of large-area THz array imaging. These results are one step towards the practical applications of integrated PD arrays based on 2D materials. | Zhuo Dong Wenzhi Yu Libo Zhang Liu Yang Luyi Huang Yan Zhang Zeqian Ren Haoran Mu Cheng Chen Junrong Zhang Jie Li Lin Wang Kai Zhang | 2023 | InfoMat2023,5,5: | 1

Controllable two-dimensional Kerr and Raman–Kerr frequency combs in microbottle resonators with selectable dispersion显示文摘We report a broadband two-dimensional(2 D) Kerr and Raman–Kerr frequency comb generation in a silica bottle resonator accounting for azimuthal and axial degrees of freedom and pioneer a method that allows for controlled and reversible switching between a four wave mixing(FWM) state and a stimulated Raman scattering state. The repetition rate of the Raman–Kerr comb is not an integer number of the free spectral range, which spans more than 242 nm with hundreds of teeth. We show that, experimentally and numerically, multiple 2 D comb regimes can be selectively accessed via dispersion engineering by exciting different orders of axial modes or modifying the curvature of the axial profile, involving cascaded FWM, Raman lasing, and Raman-assisted FWM. The effect of axial curvature on dispersion is associated with the axial mode number in bottle resonators. Our approach enables dispersion and spectral engineering flexibility in any resonator with localized axial modes. | XUEYING JIN XIN XU HAORAN GAO KEYI WANG HAOJIE XIA LIANDONG YU | 2021 | Photonics Research2021,9,2: | 1

Recovery of Ni(Ⅱ)from real electroplating wastewater using fixed-bed resin adsorption and subsequent electrodeposition显示文摘Effective recovery of high-value heavy metals from electroplating wastewater is of great significance, but recovering nickel ions from real electroplating wastewater as nickel sheet has not been reported. In this study, the pilot-scale fixed-bed resin adsorption was conducted to recover Ni(Ⅱ)ions from real nickel plating wastewater, and then the concentrated Ni(Ⅱ)ions in the regenerated solution were reduced to nickel sheet via electrodeposition.A commercial cation-exchange resin was selected and the optimal resin adsorption and regeneration conditions were investigated. The resin exhibited an adsorption capacity of 63 mg/g for Ni(Ⅱ)ions, and the average amount of treated water was 84.6 bed volumes(BV)in the pilot-scale experiments. After the adsorption by two ion-exchange resin columns in series and one chelating resin column, the concentrations of Ni(Ⅱ)in the treated wastewater were below 0.1 mg/L.After the regeneration of the spent resin using 3 BVof 4%(w/w)HC1 solution,1.5 BV of concentrated neutral nickel solution(>30 g/L)was obtained and used in the subsequent electrodeposition process.Using the aeration method, alkali and water required in resin activation process were greatly reduced to 2 BV and 3 BV,respectively.Under the optimal electrodeposition conditions,95.6%of Ni(Ⅱ)in desorption eluent could be recovered as the elemental nickel on the cathode, llie total treatment cost for the resin adsorption and regeneration as well as the electrodeposition was calculated. | Tong Li Ke Xiao Bo Yang Guilong Peng Fenglei Liu Liyan Tao Siyuan Chen Haoran Wei Gang Yu Shubo Deng | 2019 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2019,13,6: | 1
Miniaturization of mechanical actuators in skin-integrated electronics for haptic interfaces显示文摘Skin-integrated electronics, also known as electronic skin(e-skin);are rapidly developing and are gradually being adopted in biomedical fields as well as in our daily lives.E-skin capable of providing sensitive and high-resolution tactile sensations and haptic feedback to the human body would open a new e-skin paradigm for closed-loop human-machine interfaces. Here,we report a class of materials and mechanical designs for the miniaturization of mechanical actuators and strategies for their integration into thin, soft e-skin for haptic interfaces. The mechanical actuators exhibit small dimensions of 5 mm diameter and 1.45 mm thickness and work in an electromagnetically driven vibrotactile mode with resonance frequency overlapping the most sensitive frequency of human skin.Nine mini actuators can be integrated simultaneously in a small area of 2 cm×2 cm to form a 3×3 haptic feedback array, which is small and compact enough to mount on a thumb tip.Furthermore, the thin, soft haptic interface exhibits good mechanical properties that work properly during stretching, bending, and twisting and therefore can conformally fit onto various parts of the human body to afford programmable tactile enhancement and Braille recognition with an accuracy rate over 85%. | Dengfeng Li Jiahui He Zhen Song Kuanming Yao Mengge Wu Haoran Fu Yiming Liu Zhan Gao Jingkun Zhou Lei Wei Zhengyou Zhang Yuan Dai Zhaoqian Xie Xinge Yu | 2021 | Microsystems & Nanoengineering2021,7,5: | 1

Probing the dynamic structural changes of DNA using ultrafast laser pulse in graphene-based optofluidic device显示文摘The ultrafast monitoring of deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA)dynamic structural changes is an emerging and rapidly growing research topic in biotechnology. The existing optical spectroscopy used to identify different dynamical DNA structures lacks quick response while requiring large consumption of samples and bulky instrumental facilities. It is highly demanded to develop an ultrafast technique that monitors DNA structural changes with the external stimulus or cancer-related disease scenarios. Here,we demonstrate a novel photonic integrated graphene-optofluidic device to monitor DNA structural changes with the ultrafast response time. Our approach is featured with an effective and straightforward design of decoding the electronic structure change of graphene induced by its interactions with DNAs in different conformations using ultrafast nanosecond pulse laser and achieving refractive index sensitivity of~3×10^(−5) RIU.This innovative technique for the first time allows us to perform ultrafast monitoring of the conformational changes of special DNA molecules structures, including G-quadruplex formation by K+ions and i-motif formation by the low pH stimulus. The graphene-optofluidic device as presented here provides a new class of label-free,ultrafast,ultrasensitive,compact,and cost-effective optical biosensors for medical and healthcare applications. | Bannur NShivananju Lu Zhou Yuefeng Yin Wenzhi Yu Babar Shabbir Haoran Mu Xiaozhi Bao Yiqiu Zhang Sun Tian Qingdong Ou Shaojuan Li Mohammad MHossain Yupeng Zhang Huaiyu Shao Guichuan Xing Nikhil V.Medhekar Chang-Ming Li Jian Liu Qiaoliang Bao | 2021 | InfoMat2021,3,3: | 1
