| 6 | Comparative Analysis of a Rare Autumn Rainstorm and a Spring Rainstorm in Xiamen Area显示文摘According to Ouyang potential temperature V-3θ charts,a rare autumn rainstorm in Xiamen on November 18,2011 was compared with a spring rainstorm on March 29,2005 firstly,and then the main characteristics of the autumn rainstorm were analyzed based on wind profiler data of Doppler weather radar. The results showed that ultra-low temperature on the top of the troposphere was more obvious in autumn than that in spring;clockwise tumble effect was distinct and warm and wet layer reached 300 hPa in both spring and autumn. Clockwise tumble effect appeared in various forms in autumn and spring. That is,the wind blew from the east at low altitudes and the west at high altitudes before the autumn rainstorm occurred; when the maximum wind speed appeared at 500 hPa,heavy rainfall occurred. During the spring rainstorm process,wind direction was consistent at each level and wind speed increased with the rise of altitude during early days. Afterwards,the wind blew from the east at low altitudes and the west at high altitudes. During the autumn rainstorm process,the heavy rainfall at the first stage was closely related to thickness of the 20m /s wind speed layer at 3-5 km. If the thickness declined sharply when the 20 m /s wind speed layer expended downwards,heavy rainfall would occur soon afterwards. Moreover,the precipitation intensity weakened immediately as the 20 m /s wind speed layer began to be stable. The heavy rainfall at the second stage was closely related to thickness of the 24 m /s wind speed layer,and the appearance,development and weakening of the 24 m /s wind speed layer foreboded the occurrence of heavy rainfall. Moreover,the thickness of the 24 m /s wind speed layer decreased to the minimum,and then heavy rainfall would appear soon afterwards. | 7 | Large unsaturated positive and negative magnetoresistance in Weyl semimetal TaP显示文摘After successfully growing single-crystal Ta P, we measured its longitudinal resistivity(ρxx) and Hall resistivity(ρyx) at magnetic fields up to 9 T in the temperature range of 2-300 K. At 8 T, the magnetoresistance(MR) reached 3.28 × 105% at 2 K, 176%at 300 K. Neither value appeared saturated. We confirmed that Ta P is a hole-electron compensated semimetal with a low carrier concentration and high hole mobility of μh=3.71 × 10~5cm^2/V s, and found that a magnetic-field-induced metal-insulator transition occurs at room temperature. Remarkably, because a magnetic field(H) was applied in parallel to the electric field(E), a negative MR due to a chiral anomaly was observed and reached-3000% at 9 T without any sign of saturation, either, which is in contrast to other Weyl semimetals(WSMs). The analysis of the Shubnikov-de Haas(Sd H) oscillations superimposed on the MR revealed that a nontrivial Berry's phase with a strong offset of 0.3958, which is the characteristic feature of charge carriers enclosing a Weyl node. | 10 | Study on Temporal-spatial Change Characteristics of the Extremely Low Temperature Climate Event in Winter of China显示文摘[Objective] The research aimed to study temporal-spatial change characteristics of the extremely low temperature climate event in winter of China. [Method] By using actual probability distribution threshold value method, EOF analysis method and the daily minimum temperature data in winter of 1961-2008 at 195 observatories of China, temporal-spatial change characteristics of the extremely low temperature climate event in winter of China in 48 years were analyzed. [Result] Threshold value calculated by actual probability distribution was higher than that by traditional method, and increase magnitude in east was bigger than that in west, which could describe climatic change situation in China in 48 years better than traditional method. Cold night number in winter of China did not decrease as latitude declined, and it was more in south and north and was less in Yellow River basin and northwest China. Cold night number was the most in northeast Inner Mongolia. Interannual change of the cold night number presented decline tendency. From the 1960s to the early 1970s, cold night number consistently increased, and change in middle and late periods of the 1960s was severe. From the early 1970s to the middle 1980s, fluctuation of the cold night number was bigger, and increase of the cold night number was the most in 1976. Cold night number from 1986 to the 21st century continuously declined. Change of the cold night number was the most obvious in east region, Guizhou and north Guangxi. Cold night number in northeast China and north Inner Mongolia presented inverting change relationship with that in Yunnan-Kweichow Plateau and Hexi Corridor.
