| 1 | Effect of turbulence models on predicting convective heat transfer to hydrocarbon fuel at supercritical pressure显示文摘A variety of turbulence models were used to perform numerical simulations of heat transfer for hydrocarbon fuel flowing upward and downward through uniformly heated vertical pipes at supercritical pressure. Inlet temperatures varied from 373 K to 663 K, with heat flux ranging from 300 k W/m^2 to 550 k W/m^2. Comparative analyses between predicted and experimental results were used to evaluate the ability of turbulence models to respond to variable thermophysical properties of hydrocarbon fuel at supercritical pressure. It was found that the prediction performance of turbulence models is mainly determined by the damping function, which enables them to respond differently to local flow conditions. Although prediction accuracy for experimental results varied from condition to condition, the shear stress transport(SST) and launder and sharma models performed better than all other models used in the study. For very small buoyancy-influenced runs, the thermal-induced acceleration due to variations in density lead to the impairment of heat transfer occurring in the vicinity of pseudo-critical points, and heat transfer was enhanced at higher temperatures through the combined action of four thermophysical properties: density, viscosity, thermal conductivity and specific heat. | 2 | Research and application of a power-flow-calculation method in multiterminal VSC-HVDC power grid显示文摘For demonstrating a multiterminal voltage-source converter(VSC)-based high-voltage DC(HVDC)(VSCHVDC) project, this study puts forward a technical route for calculating the power flow in a 500-kV VSC-HVDC power grid in comparison with that of an AC power grid. The Jacobian matrix used in the power-flow calculation was deduced through methods such as Newton–Laphson iteration and Taylor series expansion. Further, the operation effect of powerflow calculation on a true bipolar VSC-HVDC power grid was analyzed briefly. The elements of the Jacobian matrix corresponding to VSC were studied under the mode of droop control and the control strategy of VSC-HVDC power grid was analyzed in detail. The power-flow calculation model for VSC-HVDC power grid of the master–slave control mode was simplified using the PQ decomposition method of the power-flow calculation of an AC power grid. Moreover, a four-terminal model of the Zhangbei VSC-HVDC demonstration project was established and tested on MATLAB. The simulation results under two kinds of operating conditions were analyzed and compared to the results of BPA; the deviation between the power-flow results was studied. | 3 | Increased hepatic expression of nitric oxide synthase type Ⅱ in cirrhotic rats显示文摘AIM: To determine the role and effect of nitric oxide synthase type Ⅱ (NOSII) in cirrhotic rats.METHODS: Expression of NOSⅡ mRNA was detected by real time RT-PCR. The activity of nitric oxide synthase and serum levels of NO, systemic and portal hemodynamics and degrees of cirrhosis were measured with high sensitive methods. Chinese traditional medicine tetrandrine was used to treat cirrhotic rats and to evaluate the function of NO.Double-blind method was applied during the experiment.RESULTS: The concentration of NO and the activity of NOS were increased markedly at all stages of cirrhosis, and iNOSmRNA was greatly expressed. Meanwhile the portalvenous-pressure (PVP), and portal-venous-flow (PVF) were significantly increased. Offpeak hours, peak hours in peak months and peak hours in off-peak months are distinguished and different methods are designed to improve the forecast accuracy. A nonlinear regression model with deviation compensation is proposed to forecast the prices of off-peak hours and peak hours in off-peak months. SVM is adopted to forecast the prices of peak hours in peak months. | 7 | Correlation of expression of multidrug resistance protein and messenger RNA with ^(99m)Tc-methoxyisobutyl isonitrile (MIBI) imaging in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘AIM:To explore whether P-glycoprotein (Pgp) and other pumps,multidrug resistance-associated protein (MRP) and lung resistance protein (LRP),could affect tumor accumulation and effluc of ^99mTc-MIBI in liver cancer.METHODS:Surgically treated 78 liver cancer patients were included in this study.Before surgery,^99mTc-MIBI SPECT was performed 15 min and 120 min after injection of 20 mCi ^99mTc-MIBI,respectively.Early uptake,delayed uptake (L/Nd),and washout rate (L/Nwr) of ^99mTc-MIBI were obtained. Expressions of Pgp,MRP and LRP were investigated with Western blotting and immunohistochemistry.Messenger RNA(mRNA) level of Pgp,MRP and LRP was determined by RT-PCR.RESULTS:No ^99mTc-MIBI uptakes in tumor lesions of 68 of 78 (87.2%) patients with hepatocellular carcinoma were found on ^99mTc-MIBI SPECT.P-gp expression was observed in tumor tissues of the patients with no uptake of ^99mTc-MIBO (p<0.017).No appreciable correlation was found between liver cancer ^99mTc-MIBI inages and expression of MRP or LRP on the level of protein or mRNA.CONCLUSION:^99mTc-MIBI SPECT is noninvasive,and useful in predicting the presence of MDR1 gene-encoded Pgp in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma. | HaiWang Xiao-PingChen Fa-ZuQiu | 2004 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2004,10,9: | 4 |
| 8 | Turbulent characteristics and rotation correction of wall function in rotating channel with high local rotation parameter显示文摘The turbulent fluctuation and the rotation correction of wall function law are investigated in the entrance section of a rotating channel. The one-dimensional hot wire probe and the X-type probe are utilized to measure the boundary layer at four streamwise stations. Through the analysis on the boundary layer near the leading side and trailing side, it is found that the turbulent fluctuation is promoted in the trailing side whereas suppressed in the leading side. This difference is attributed to the Coriolis instability near the trailing side. In addition, considering the local rotation parameter Rc, whose maximum absolute value is 0.014, is larger than that in previous research, whose maximum value is 0.007, the whole process of the relaminarization is captured. To understand this phenomenon better, the effects of the generation term and the Coriolis term in the transport equation of the Reynolds stress are discussed. | 10 | Proteomic response analysis of endothelial cells of human coronary artery to stimulation with carbachol显示文摘AIM: To identify the molecular basis of the endothelial target for acetylcholine (ETA). METHODS: Proteomic methods were used to monitor changes in protein expression in the first 10h following the stimulation of human coronary endothelial cells with carbachol 100μmol/L. Thirty proteins showing the largest changes were identified by mass spectrometry. RESULTS: Based on analysis with Image Master 2-D Elite software, about 623 protein spots were detected in control cells and 825 protein spots in carbachol-treated cells, the matching rate was 68.1%. Among all the detected spots, 39 were up-regulated and 29 were down-regulated, showing detectable changes varied from 1.7-3.8 folds. Forty one spots in the peptide mass fingerprints were successfully obtained. All test pieces include 44 identical, parallel circular microchannels with diameters of 0.4 mm and 10 mm in length. The surface roughness of the microchannels is R_a= 0.86, 0.92, 1.02 lm, and the Reynolds number ranges from 150 to 2800.Results show that the surface roughness of the circular microchannels has remarkable effects on the performance of flow behavior and heat transfer. It is found that the Poiseuille and Nusselt numbers are higher when the relative surface roughness is larger. For flow behavior, the friction factor increases consistently with the increasing Reynolds number, and it is larger than the constant theoretical value for macrochannels. The Reynolds number for the transition from laminar to turbulent flow is about 1500, which is lower than the value for macrochannels. | 20 | Hot-wire experimental investigation on turbulent Prandtl number in a rotating non-isothermal turbulent boundary layer显示文摘This experiment used a parallel array of hot wire probes to simultaneously measure the temperature and velocity fields in the non-isothermal turbulent boundary layer of a rotating straight channel. The Reynolds numbers are 15,000 and 25,000, respectively. The rotation numbers are 0, 0.07, 0.14, 0.21 and 0.28, respectively. The purpose of this study is to calculate the turbulent Prandtl number in a rotating non-isothermal turbulent boundary layer. Due to the difficulty in measuring local turbulent Prandtl numbers, this study focuses on the average turbulent Prandtl numbers in the logarithmic region instead. Under static conditions, this value is taken as 0.9 normally. This research finds that rotation conditions can affect the turbulent Prandtl number by affecting the properties of velocity and temperature boundary layers. The change range of the turbulent Prandtl number is roughly 0.6–1.1. The influence of the leading side is greater than that of the trailing side, especially at high rotation numbers. This can provide validation and guidance for numerical simulation. Other information within the turbulent boundary layer is also discussed.
