| 1 | Progress in monitoring high-temperature damage to rice through satellite and ground-based optical remote sensing显示文摘The occurrence of rice high-temperature damage (HTD) has increased with global warming. Cultivation of rice is seriously affected by the HTD in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, which directly affects food security in this region and in the whole of China. It is important to monitor and assess crop HTD using satellite remote sensing information. This paper reviews the recent development of monitoring rice HTD using optical remote sensing information. It includes the use of optical remote sensing information to obtain the regional spatial distribution of high temperatures, mixed-surface temperature retrieval for rice fields based on mixed decomposition information, the development of field and thermal infrared testing and modeling, and the satellite/ground-based remote sensing coupled method for monitoring rice HTD. Finally, the prospects for monitoring crop HTD based on remote sensing information are summarized. | ZHANG JiaHua YAO FengMei LI BingBai YAN Hao HOU YingYu CHENG GaoFeng Vijendra BOKEN | 2011 | Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,12: | 11 |
| 2 | The diurnal and seasonal characteristics of urban heat island variation in Beijing city and surrounding areas and impact factors based on remote sensing satellite data显示文摘Based on the land surface temperature (LST), the land cover classification map, vegetation coverage, and surface evapotranspiration derived from EOS-MODIS satellite data, and by the use of GIS spatial analytic technique and multivariate statistical analysis method, the urban heat island (UHI) spatial distribution of the diurnal and seasonal variabilities and its driving forces are studied in Beijing city and surrounding areas in 2001. The relationships among UHI distribution and landcover categories, topographic factor, vegetation greenness, and surface evapotranspiration are analyzed. The results indicate that: (i) The significant UHI occur in Beijing city areas in the four seasons due to high heat capacity and multi-reflection of compression building, as well as with special topographic features of its three sides surrounded by mountains, especially in the summer. The UHI spatial distribution is corresponding with the urban geometry structure profile. The LST difference is approximately 4-6℃ between Beijing city and suburb areas, comparatively is 8- 10℃ between Beijing city area and outer suburb area in northwestern regions. (ii) The UHI distribution and intensity in daytime are different from nighttime in Beijing city area, the nighttime UHI is obvious. However, in the daytime, the significant UHI mainly appears in the summer, the autumn takes second place, and the UHI in the winter and the spring seem not obvious. The surface evapotranspiration in suburb areas is larger than that in urban areas in the summer, and high latent heat exchange is evident, which leads to LST difference between city area and suburb area. (iii) The reflection of surface landcover categories is sensitive to the UHI, the correlation between vegetation greenness and UHI shows obviously negative. The scatterplot shows that there is the negative correlation between NDVI and LST (R2 = 0.6481).The results demonstrate that the vegetation greenness is an important factor for reducing the UHI,and large-scale construction of greenbelts can considerably reduce the UHI effect. | ZHANG Jiahua, HOU Yingyu, LI Guicai, YAN Hao YANG Limin & YAO Fengmei The Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences, Beijing 100081, China The National Meteorological Center, Beijing 100081, China The National Satellite Meteorological Center, Beijing 100081, China Joint Laboratory for Geoinformation Science, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China Department of Geosciences, Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100039, China | 2005 | Science China Earth Sciences2005,48,z2: | 11 |
| 3 | Differences in leaf cuticular wax induced by whole-genome duplication in autotetraploid sour jujube显示文摘Drought-resistant plants exhibit strong water retention capability. In this regard, the autotetraploid sour jujube leaves exhibit better water retention than diploid leaves.Morphological comparisons and physiological comparisons of diploid and autotetraploid leaves showed that the autotetraploid leaves had thicker leaf cuticles and more leaf wax accumulation than the diploid leaves, which could reduce cuticle permeability and improve the drought tolerance of leaves. In this study, the cuticular wax crystalloids on the adaxial and abaxial sides of young and mature jujube leaves were observed in the two ploidy types, and unique cuticular wax crystalloids covering a large area of the cuticle on autotetraploid sour jujube leaves may provide an advantage in reducing leaf non-stomata transpiration and improving plant drought tolerance.Based on the transcriptome,115 differentially expressed genes between diploids and autotetraploids were further analyzed and found to be involved in the accumulation of cuticular wax components, including terpenoids, fatty acids, and lipids,as well as ABC transporter and wax biosynthetic process.Finally,14 genes differentially expressed between glossy autotetraploid leaves and nonglossy diploid leaves, such as LOC107414787,LOC107411574 and LOC107413721,were screened as candidate genes by qRT-PCR analysis. This findings provided insights into how polyploidization improved drought tolerance. | Meng Li Chenxing Zhang Lu Hou Xinru Liu Hanqing Zhao Xiaoming Pang Wenhao Bo Yingyue Li | 2024 | Horticultural Plant Journal2024,10,1: | 0 |
