| 1 | A novel approach for predicting inlet pressure of aircraft hydraulic pumps under transient conditions显示文摘Cavitation caused by insufficient suction is a major factor that influences the life of aircraft pumps. Currently, pressurizing the tank can solve the cavitation problem under steady largeflow conditions. However, this method is not always effective under transient conditions(from zero flow to full flow in a very short time). Moreover, to apply and design other measures, such as a boost impeller, the suction dynamics during the transient period must be investigated. In this paper,a novel approach based on the pressure wave propagation theory is proposed for predicting the inlet pressure of an aircraft pump under transient conditions. First, a dynamic model of a typical aircraft pump is established in the form of differential equations. Then, the transient flow model of the inlet line is described using momentum and continuity equations, and the governing equations are discretized by the method of characteristics and the finite difference method. The simulated results are in good agreement with the results from verification tests. Further simulation analysis indicates that the wave velocity and transient time may influence the inlet and reservoir pressure as well as the size of the inlet line. Finally, solutions for upgrading the inlet pressure are discussed. | 2 | Mesoporous silica stabilized MOF nanoreactor for highly selective semi-hydrogenation of phenylacetylene via synergistic effect of Pd and Ru single site显示文摘Selective semi-hydrogenation of phenylacetylene to styrene is a crucial step in the polystyrene industry.Although Pd-based catalysts are widely used in this reaction due to their excellent hydrogenation activity,the selectivity for styrene remains a great challenge.Herein,we designed a mesoporous silica stabilized Pd-Ru@ZIF-8(MS Pd-Ru@ZIF-8)nanoreactor with novel Pd and Ru single site synergistic catalytical system for semi-hydrogenation of phenylacetylene.The nanoreactor exhibited a superior performance,achieving 98%conversion of phenylacetylene and 96%selectivity to styrene.Turnover frequency(TOF)of nanoreactor was up to as high as 2,188 h^(−1),which was 25 times and 5 times more than the single metal species catalysts,mesoporous silica stabilized Pd@ZIF-8 nanoreactor(MS Pd@ZIF-8),and mesoporous silica stabilized Ru@ZIF-8 nanoreactor(MS Ru@ZIF-8).This catalytic activity was attributed to the synergistic effect of Pd and Ru single site anchored strongly into the framework of ZIF-8,which reduced the desorption energy of styrene and increased the hydrogenation energy barrier of styrene.Importantly,since the ordered mesoporous silica was introduced into the nanoreactor shell to stabilize ZIF-8,MS Pd-Ru@ZIF-8 showed excellent reusability and stability.After the five cycles,the catalytical activity and selectivity still remained.This work provides insights for a synergistic catalytic system based on single-site active sites for selective hydrogenation reactions. | Zhenxing Li Mingliang Hu Jiahao Liu Weiwei Wang Yanjie Li Wenbin Fan Yixuan Gong Jiasai Yao Ping Wang Miao He Yongle Li | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,3: | 2 |

| 7 | Numerical investigation of effect of a centrifugal boost impeller on suction performance of an aircraft hydraulic pump显示文摘An integrated boost impeller can effectively improve the suction performance of an aircraft hydraulic pump(AHP).It must be designed very carefully;however,few studies thus far have investigated boost impellers.To explore the effect of the boost impeller,this study developed a three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics(CFD)model for an AHP based on the k-εturbulence model and full cavitation model.The results of verification tests demonstrated that the model is reliable for simulating the delivery characteristics of piston pumps and the boost capacity of the inlet impeller.Steady-state simulations reveal that the boost impeller can remarkably improve the suction performance and mitigate the cavitation damage due to insufficient fluid filling while only consuming a small proportion of the total input power.Transient-state simulations show that the pump with an impeller is more capable of catching up with a sudden increase in flow demand,and it has a lower suction flow ripple and impact.However,such a boost impeller also has some limitations such as magnifying the suction pressure fluctuation and having little effect on mitigating the cavitation caused by the back-flow jet. | Hongkang DONG Yongling HE Yan WANG Guiyue KOU | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2022,35,8: | 0 |

| 9 | Biological manipulation of eutrophication in West Yangchen Lake显示文摘This paper aims to share findings on nonclassical biomanipulation from a field study on eutrophic West Yangcheng(WY)Lake.In the forty years before 2009,cyanobacteria frequently bloomed in WY Lake,an event which has not occurred since 2009.The stocking density of filter-feeding carp was estimated to be more than 50 g/m^(3) in July after 2009,approximately double the amount observed before 2009,and the ratio of silver carp to bighead carp(SBR)increased from 0.8 to more than 1.6.Compared with the water quality between 2004 and 2007,the total nitrogen(TN)and the chlorophyll-a(Chl-a)concentration decreased while total phosphorus(TP)and transparency(SD)increased significantly after 2009(P<0.05).The decreasing Chl-a concentration was observed in Jul,Jun,May,Jul,and Mar in 2009,2010,2011,2016,and 2017,respectively.The Chl-a concentration was significantly negatively correlated with TP(P<0.05),and no significant correlation with TN was observed(P>0.05).A significant negative correlation was observed between fish yield and SD(P<0.05).The results also showed that filter-feeding carp more effectively restrained algae growth when SD was low.These results indicated that a high density of filter-feeding fish with increased SBR interfered with the driving effects of nutrients and temperature on the growth of algal biomass and then restrained bloom of algae.It may be necessary to take SD into consideration for determining the appropriate fish stocking density for the biomanipulation of algae. | Chunfang Cai Jie He Wen Chen Junbiao Zhang Qianqian Wang Xuehong Song Yuantu Ye Yongling Wang Ping Wu Xiamin Cao | 2019 | Aquaculture and Fisheries2019,4,5: | 0 |

| 12 | Mechanisms of Accelerated Degradation in the Front Cells of PEMFC Stacks and Some Mitigation Strategies显示文摘The accelerated degradation in the front cells of a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell(PEMFC)stack seriously reduces the reliability and durability of the whole stack.Most researches only focus on the size and configuration of the gas intake manifold,which may lead to the maldistribution of flow and pressure.In order to find out the mechanisms of the accelerated degradation in the front cells,an extensive program of experimental and simulation work is initiated and the results are reported.It is found that after long-term lifetime tests the accelerated degradation in the front cells occurs in all three fuel cell stacks with different flow-fields under the U-type feed configuration.Compared with the rear cells of the stack,the voltage of the front cells is much lower at the same current densities and the membrane electrode assembly(MEA)has smaller active area,more catalyst particle agglomeration and higher ohmic impedance.For further investigation,a series of three dimensional isothermal numerical models are built to investigate the degradation mechanisms based on the experimental data.The simulation results reveal that the dry working condition of the membrane and the effect of high-speed gas scouring the MEA are the main causes of the accelerated degradation in the front cells of a PEM fuel cell stack under the U-type feed configuration.Several mitigation strategies that would mitigate these phenomena are presented:removing cells that have failed and replacing them with those of the same aging condition as the average of the stack;choosing a Z-type feed pattern instead of a U-type one;putting several air flow-field plates without MEA in the front of the stack;or exchanging the gas inlet and outlet alternately at a certain interval.This paper specifies the causes of the accelerated degradation in the front cells and provides the mitigation strategies. | LI Pengcheng PEI Pucheng HE Yongling YUAN Xing CHAO Pengxiang WANG Xizhong | 2013 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2013,26,6: | 0 |
| 13 | Aerodynamic impact of train-induced wind on a moving motor-van显示文摘The newly-built single-level rail-cum-road bridge brings the issue of the aerodynamic impact of train-induced wind on road automobiles.This research introduced a validated computational fluid dynamics(CFD)model regarding this concern.Such an aerodynamic impact mechanism was explored;a relationship between the transverse distance between train and motor-van(hereinfafter referred to as van)and the aerodynamic effects on the van was explored to help the optimization of bridge decks,and the relationship between the automobile speed and aerodynamic variations of a van was fitted to help traffic control.The fitting results are accurate enough for further research.It is noted that the relative speed of the two automobiles is not the only factor that influences the aerodynamic variations of the van,even at a confirmed relative velocity,the aerodynamic variations of the van vary a lot as the velocity proportion changes,and the most unfavorable case shows an increase of over 40%on the aerodynamic variations compared to the standard case.The decay of the aerodynamic effects shows that not all the velocity terms would enhance the aerodynamic variations;the coupled velocity term constrains the variation amplitude of moments and decreases the total amplitude by 20%–40%. | Jiajun HE Huoyue XIANG Yongle LI Bin HAN | 2022 | Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2022,16,7: | 0 |
