| 2 | Effects of L-3-n-butylphthalide on caspase-3 and nuclear factor kappa-B expression in primary basal forebrain and hippocampal cultures after beta-amyloid peptide 1-42 treatment显示文摘BACKGROUND:L-3-n-butylphthalide(L-NBP) can inhibit phosphorylation of tau protein and reduce the neurotoxicity of beta-amyloid peptide 1-42(Aβ_(1-42)). OBJECTIVE:To observe the neuroprotective effects of L-NBP on caspase-3 and nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB) expression in a rat model of Alzheimer's disease. DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:A cell experiment was performed at the Central Laboratory of Provincial Hospital affiliated to Shandong University between January 2008 and August 2008. MATERIALS:L-NBP(purity>98%) was provided by Shijiazhuang Pharma Group NBP Pharmaceutical Company Limited.Aβ_(1-42),3-[4,5-dimethylthiazolo-2]-2,5 iphenyltetrazolium bromide(MTT),and rabbit anti-Caspase-3 polyclonal antibody were provided by Cell Signaling, USA;goat anti-choactase and rabbit anti-NF-κB antibodies were provided by Santa Cruz,USA. METHODS:Primary cultures were generated from rat basal forebrain and hippocampal neurons at 17 or 19 days of gestation.The cells were assigned into five groups:the control group,the Aβ_(1-42) group(2μmol/ L),the Aβ_(1-42) + 0.1μmol/L L-NBP group,the Aβ_(1-42)+ 1μmol/L L-NBP group,and the Aβ_(1-42)+ 10μmol/L L-NBP group.The neurons were treated with Aβ_(1-42)(2μmol/L) alone or in combination with L-NBP(0.1,1,10μmol/L) for 48 hours.Cells in the control group were incubated in PBS. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Morphologic changes were evaluated using inverted microscopy, viability using the MTT method,and the changes in caspase-3 and NF-κB expression using Western blot. RESULTS:Induction with Aβ_(1-42) for 48 hours caused cell death and soma atrophy,and increased caspase-3 and NF-κB expression(P<0.05).L-NBP blocked these changes in cell morphology, decreased caspase-3 and NF-κB expression(P<0.05),and improved cell viability,especially at the high dose(P<0.05). | 10 | Reconstructing interfacial manganese deposition for durable aqueous zinc-manganese batteries显示文摘Low-cost,high-satety,and broad-prospect aqueous zinc-manganese batteries(ZMBs)are limited by complex interracial reactions.The solid-liquid interfacial state of the cathode dominates the Mn dissolution/deposition process of aqueous ZMBs,especially the important influence on the mass and charge transfer behavior of Zn2+and Mn2+.We proposed a quasi-eutectic electrolyte(QEE)that would stabilize the reversible behavior of interracial deposition and favorable interracial reaction kinetic of manganese-based cathodes in a long cycle process by optimizing mass and charge transfer.We emphasize that the initial interfacial reaction energy barrier is not the main factor affecting cycling performance,and the good reaction kinetics induced by interfacial deposition during the cycling process is more conducive to the stable cycling of the battery,which has been confirmed by theoretical analysis,quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation monitoring,depth etching X-ray photon-electron spectroscopy,etc.As a result,the QEE electrolyte maintained a stable specific capacity of 250 mAh g-1 at 0.5 A g-1 after 350 cycles in zinc-manganese batteries.The energy density retention rate of the ZMB with QEE increased by 174%compared to that of conventional aqueous electrolyte.Furthermore,the multi-stacked soft-pack battery with a cathodic mass load of 54.4 mg maintained a stable specific capacity of 200 mAh g-1 for 100 cycles,demonstrating its commercial potential.This work proves the feasibility of adapting lean-water QEE to the stable aqueous ZMBs. | Yida Hu Zhexuan Liu Lanyan Li Shan Guo Xuefang Xie Zhigao Luo Guozhao Fang Shuquan Liang | 2023 | National Science Review2023,10,10: | 0 |
| 11 | Hydrogel-Based Stimuli-Responsive Micromotors for Biomedicine显示文摘The rapid development of medical micromotors draws a beautiful blueprint for the noninvasive or minimally invasive diagnosis and therapy.By combining stimuli-sensitive hydrogel materials,micromotors are bestowed with new characteristics such as stimuli-responsive shape transformation/morphing.excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability,and drug loading ability.Actuated by chemical fuels or external fields(eg,magnetic field,ultrasound,light,and electric field),hydrogel-based stimuli-responsive(HBSR)micromotors can be utilized to load therapeutic agents into the hydrogel networks or directly grip the target cargos(eg.,drug-loaded partides,cells,and thrombus),transport them to sites of interest(e.g.,tumor area and diseased tissues),and unload the cargos or execute a specific task(e.g.,cell capture,targeted sampling,and removal of blood dots)in response to a stimulus(eg.,change of temperature,pH,ion strength,and chemicals)in the physiological environment.The high flexibility,adaptive capacity,and shape morphing property enable the H BSR micromotors to complete specific medical tasks in complex physiological scenarios,especially in confined,hard to-reach tissues,and vessels of the body.Herein,this review summarizes the current progress in hydrogel-based medical micromotors with stimuli responsiveness.The thermo-responsive,photothermal-responsive,magnetocaloric-responsive,pH-responsive,ionic strength-responsive,and chemoresponsive micromotors are discussed in detail.Finally,curent challenges and future perspectives for the development of HBSR micromotors in the biomedical field are discussed. | Huaijuan Zhou Guozhao Dong Ge Gao Ran Du Xiaoying Tang Yining Ma Jinhua Li | 2022 | Cyborg and Bionic Systems2022,,1: | 0 |
| 12 | Clinical Effects of Treatment for Lung Cancer with Double Points Cryoablation through Percutaneous Puncture Guided by Computed Tomography显示文摘OBJECTIVE To investigate the clinical effects of the applicationof double points cryoablation through percutaneous puncture foradvanced lung cancer patients.METHODS Forty-one patients diagnosed with stage Ⅲ-Ⅳpulmonary carcinoma were selected for the study.The patientswere found to have from 1 to 3 foci of carcinoma,and in eachcase the disease was limited to one lung.The study patients weredivided randomly into 3 groups.There were 16 cases receivingroutine chemotherapy and radiotherapy in group Ⅰ,13 casestreated with cryoablation at a single point in group Ⅱ,and 12 casestreated with cryoablation at 2 points simultaneously in group Ⅲ.The patients in the 2 cryoablation groups also received the sametreatment as the patients did in group Ⅰ.The clinical effects wereevaluated within 6 months after treatment,and the survival ratewas followed-up for 3 years.RESULTS The clinical effects were improved significantly aftertreatment in group Ⅱ and in group Ⅲ compared with those ingroup Ⅰ (P<0.05),including an enhanced regressive rate of 21%,postponed tumor progression of 50.58% and a clinical benefit rateof 92%.The effective rate of regression in group Ⅲ was higherthan that in group Ⅱ,43.59% (P<0.05),and the 3-year survival ratewas 37.25%.Significant differences in side effects were not foundbetween the 2 cryoablation groups.CONCLUSION Cryosurgery ablation at 2 points,simultaneously,and directed at 1 foci might improve the effects oftreatment and the prognosis of lung cancer patients,when used incombination with routine treatment. | Zao Jiang Gaojun Teng Wen Fang Xiaoyi Gu Guozhao Li | 2009 | Clinical oncology and cancer resexreh2009,6,5: | 0 |
