| 2 | Ordered mesoporous NiFe_2O_4 with ultrathin framework for low-ppb toluene sensing显示文摘Highly sensitive and selective detection against specific target gases,especially at low-ppb(part per billion)level,remain a great number of challenges in gas sensor applications.In this paper,we first present an ordered mesoporous NiFe_2O_4 for highly sensitive and selective detection against low-ppb toluene.A series of mesoporous NiFe_2O_4 materials were synthesized by templating from mesoporous silica KIT-6 and its framework thickness was reduced from 8.5 to 5 nm by varying the pore size of KIT-6 from 9.4 to 5.6 nm,accompanied with the increase of the specific surface area from 134 to 216 m^2g^(-1).The ordered mesoporous NiFe_2O_4 with both ultrathin framework of 5 nm and large specific surface area of up to 216 m^2g^(-1)exhibits a highest response(R_(gas)/R_(air)-1=77.3)toward 1,000 ppb toluene at 230℃ and is nearly 7.3 and 76.7 times higher than those for the NiFe_2O_4 replica with thick framework and its bulk counterpart respectively,which also possesses a quite low limit of detection(<2 ppb),and good selectivity. | Xiaoyong Lai Kun Cao Guoxin Shen Ping Xue Dan Wang Fang Hu Jianli Zhang Qingfeng Yang Xiaozhong Wang | 2018 | Science Bulletin2018,63,3: | 3 |
| 3 | Design and experimental performance verification of a thermal property test-bed for lunar drilling exploration显示文摘Chinese Chang'e lunar exploration project aims to collect and return subsurface lunar soil samples at a minimum penetration depth of 2 m in 2017. However, in contrast to those on the Earth, automated drilling and sampling missions on the Moon raise the risk of burning bits.Test-beds are required for testing the thermal properties of drill tools in a lunar environment. In this paper, a novel temperature measuring method based on thermocouples and a slip ring was proposed. Furthermore, a data acquisition system for a drilling process was designed. A vacuous,cryogenic, and anhydrous soil environment simulating the lunar surface was established. A drilling test-bed that can reach a depth of 2.2 m was developed. A control strategy based on online monitoring signals was proposed to improve the drilling performance. Vacuum and non-vacuum experiments were performed to test the temperature rising effect on drill tools. When compared with the non-vacuum experiment, the vacuum temperature rise resulted in a 12 °C increase. | 4 | Influence of lunar regolith compressibility on sampling performance of thick wall spiral drills显示文摘A 2 m class robotic drill was sent to the Moon and successfully collected and returned regolith samples in late 2020 by China.It was a typical thick wall spiral drill(TWSD)with a hollow auger containing a complex coring system to retain subsurface regolith samples.Before the robotic drill was launched,a series of laboratory tests were carried out to investigate and predict the possible drilling loads it may encounter in the lunar environment.This work presents how the sampling performance of the TWSD is affected by the regolith compressibility.Experiments and analysis during the drilling and sampling process in a simulated lunar regolith environment were conducted.The compressibility of a typical lunar regolith simulant(LRS)was measured through unidirectional compression tests to study the relationship between its inner regolith stress and bulk density.A theoretical model was established to elucidate the cutting discharge behavior by auger flights based on the aforementioned relationship.Experiments were conducted with the LRS,and the results show that the sampling performance is greatly affected by the flux of the drilled cuttings into the spiral flight channels.This work helped in scheduling reasonable drilling parameters to promote the sampling performance of the robotic drill in the Chinese Chang’E 5 mission. | Yong PANG Tao ZHANG Hongyu WEI Ting ZENG Yinliang ZHANG Guidong MO Kun XU Shen YIN Guoxin WANG Xingwang ZHANG Xiaoming LAI Xilun DING | 2023 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2023,36,2: | 2 |

| 11 | Enhancing crop yield by using Rubisco activase to improve photosynthesis under elevated temperatures显示文摘With the rapid growth of world population,it is essential to increase agricultural productivity to feed the growing population.Over the past decades,many methods have been used to increase crop yields.Despite the success in boosting the crop yield through these methods,global food production still needs to be increased to be on par with the increasing population and its dynamic consumption patterns.Additionally,given the prevailing environmental conditions pertaining to the global temperature increase,heat stress will likely be a critical factor that negatively affects plant biomass and crop yield.One of the key elements hindering photosynthesis and plant productivity under heat stress is the thermo-sensitivity of the Rubisco activase(RCA),a molecular chaperone that converts Rubisco back to active form after it becomes inactive.It would be an attractive and practical strategy to maintain photosynthetic activity under elevated temperatures by enhancing the thermo-stability of RCA.In this context,this review discusses the need to improve the thermo-tolerance of RCA under current climatic conditions and to further study RCA structure and regulation,and its limitations at elevated temperatures.This review summarizes successful results and provides a perspective on RCA research and its implication in improving crop yield under elevated temperature conditions in the future. | Inosha Wijewardene Guoxin Shen Hong Zhang | 2021 | Stress Biology2021,1,1: | 0 |
| 12 | Physiological and Proteomic Analyses Reveal Effects of Putrescine-Alleviated Aluminum Toxicity in Rice Roots显示文摘The effects of putrescine on improving rice growth under aluminum(Al)toxicity conditions have been previously demonstrated,however,the underlying mechanism remains unclear.In this study,treatment with 50 pmol/L Al significantly decreased rice root growth and whole rice dry weight,inhibited Ca2+uptake,decreased ATP syn thesis,and in creased Al,H2O2 and malon dialdehyde(MDA)con tents,whereas the application of putrescine mitigated these negative effects.Putrescine increased root growth and total dry weight of rice,reduced total Al content,decreased H2O2 and MDA contents by increasing antioxidant enzyme(superoxide dismutase,peroxidase,catalase and glutathione S・transferase)activities,increased Ca2+uptake and energy product!oru Proteomic analyses using data-independent acquisition successfully identified 7934 proteins,and 59 representative proteins exhibiting fold-change values higher than 1.5 were randomly selected.From the results of the proteomic and biochemical analyses,we found that putrescine significantly inhibited ethylene biosynthesis and phosphorus uptake in rice roots,increased pectin methylation,decreased pectin content and apoplastic Al deposit!on in rice roots.Putrescine also alleviated Al toxicity by repairing damaged DNA and increasing the proteins involved in maintaining plasma membra ne integrity and normal cell proliferation.These fin dings improve our understanding of how putrescine affects the rice response to Al toxicity,which will facilitate further studies on environmental protection,crop safety,in novations in rice performance and real-world producti on. | ZHU Chunquan HU Wenjun CAO Xiaochuang ZHU Lianfeng KONG Yali JIN Qianyu SHEN Guoxin WANG Weipeng ZHANG Hui ZHANG Junhua | 2021 | Rice science2021,28,6: | 0 |
| 13 | Hypoglycemic mechanism of Tegillarca granosa polysaccharides on type 2 diabetic mice by altering gut microbiota and regulating the PI3K-akt signaling pathwaye显示文摘Type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)is a complex metabolic disease threatening human health.We investigated the effects of Tegillarca granosa polysaccharide(TGP)and determined its potential mechanisms in a mouse model of T2DM established through a high-fat diet and streptozotocin.TGP(5.1×10^(3) Da)was composed of mannose,glucosamine,rhamnose,glucuronic acid,galactosamine,glucose,galactose,xylose,and fucose.It could significantly alleviate weight loss,reduce fasting blood glucose levels,reverse dyslipidemia,reduce liver damage from oxidative stress,and improve insulin sensitivity.RT-PCR and Western blotting indicated that TGP could activate the phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase/protein kinase B signaling pathway to regulate disorders in glucolipid metabolism and improve insulin resistance.TGP increased the abundance of Allobaculum,Akkermansia,and Bifidobacterium,restored the microbiota abundance in the intestinal tracts of mice with T2DM,and promoted short-chain fatty acid production.This study provides new insights into the antidiabetic effects of TGP and highlights its potential as a natural hypoglycemic nutraceutical. | Qihong Jiang Lin Chen Rui Wang Yin Chen Shanggui Deng Guoxin Shen Shulai Liu Xingwei Xiang | 2024 | Food Science and Human Wellness2024,13,2: | 0 |
