| 1 | A study of oil spill detection using ASAR images显示文摘The oil spilled worldwide causes ecological disasters that result in enormous damages to the quality of marine environment, and great expenses on clear-up operations are needed. Due to its wide coverage and day-night all-weather observation capability, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is an important tool for oil spill monitoring and detection. C-band SAR is well adapted to detect oil pollution because oil slicks dampen the Bragg waves and reduce radar backscattering coefficients. In order to detect the area of oil slicks, the algorithm consists of these steps: Preprocessing, Masking of land areas, Detection of dark spots, Spot feature extraction, Dark spot classification. In this paper, the authors examined two coastal regions around Hong Kong and Yantai, China. The obtained results performed on Envisat ASAR images have demonstrated that it is efficient to detect oil spill around the coastal regions. | 9 | Experimental Investigation on Compressive Properties of Fiber Recycled Aggregate Concrete显示文摘This paper presents an experimental study to explore the compressive properties of fiber recycled aggregate concrete.A total of 75 specimens with the replacement rate of recycled coarse aggregate and fiber type were conducted under a uniaxial compressive test.The failure modes,stress-strain whole curves,peak stress,peak strain,and energy dissipation capacity were systematically observed and revealed.Test results indicate that steel fiber has the best modification effect on energy dissipation capacity and the toughness index of recycled concrete,corresponding to the enhancement of 81.75% and 22.90% on average.The addition of polyvinyl alcohol fiber can effectively improve the compressive strength and energy dissipation capacity of recycled aggregate concrete by 28.49% and 29.43% on average,respectively.The compressive strength and energy dissipation capacity of recycled aggregate concrete is increased by an average of 16.5% and 24.4% by incorporating carbon fiber.The energy dissipation capacity of recycled aggregate concrete is increased by an average of 13.5% with the incorporation of polypropylene fiber.However,the addition of carbon fiber results in a slight reduction of toughness by 16.97%,and the effect of polyvinyl alcohol fiber on the energy dissipation capacity is limited.Besides,with the increase in replacement rate,the compressive strength and the energy dissipation capacity of recycled coarse aggregate concrete with fiber decreased,and toughness first decreased and then increased.Finally,based on the analysis of test data,a segment-based stress-strain model of fiber recycled aggregate concrete was proposed,which shows good agreement with the test results. | Guiwu Lin Kaige Liu Yuliang Chen Yunpeng Ji Rui Jiang | 2023 | Journal of Renewable Materials2023,11,11: | 0 |
| 10 | Causal relationship between 14 site-specific cancers and venous thromboembolism显示文摘Background:It has been observed that cancer and venous thromboembolism(VTE)are associated,but anticancer therapy may violate the causality.Therefore,this study aimed to elucidate the causal relationship of various cancers to VTE using Mendelian randomization(MR).Methods:Three MR methods were used to estimate causal effects:Inverse variance weighted(IVW),MR-Egger and weighted median.Sensitivity analyses included Cochran's Q-test,MR-Egger intercept test and MRPRESSO.Gene ontology enrichment analysis was performed to elucidate the underlying mechanisms of VTE development in cancer patients.Results:The primary IVW approach showed that non-Hodgkin's lymphoma(NHL)might increase the risk of VTE(odds ratio[OR]:1.20,95%confidence interval[95%CI]:1.00–1.44,p=0.045),while melanoma possibly reduced the risk of VTE(OR:0.89,95%CI:0.82–0.97,p=0.006),although there was no significance after adjustment for multiple testing.No association was observed between VTE risk and other site-specific cancers.Gene ontology enrichment analysis revealed that vitamin D played an important role in the development of VTE in cancer patients.Conclusions:Our findings suggested that genetically predicted NHL was associated with higher VTE risk,whereas melanoma had lower VTE risk compared with other site-specific cancers.Moreover,this study suggested that anticancer therapy and increased extensive examination might play a more important role in VTE development than the nature of cancer. | Xiong Chen Xiaosi Hong Shulu Luo Jiahao Cai Guiwu Huang Runnan Shen Lin Lv Gaochen Bai Wen Fu Li Yan Guochang Liu Kai Huang Qinchang Chen | 2022 | Cancer Innovation2022,1,4: | 0 |
