| 3 | Continuous, homogeneous and rapid synthesis of 4-bromo-3-methylanisole in a modular microreaction system显示文摘4-Bromo-3-methylanisole is mainly used to synthesize black fluorane dye(2-anilino-3-methyl-6-dibutylaminofluorane, ODB-2), which is one of the most important heat and pressure-sensitive dyes in the manufacture of thermal papers. Compared to the industrial heterogeneous batch process, a continuous homogeneous bromination technology in a modular microreaction system has been developed, and 4-bromo-3-methylanisole has been successfully prepared through high-selective mono-bromination of 3-methylanisole with Br2 solution in CHCl3. | 4 | Ideality analysis and general laws of bubble swarm microflow for large-scale gas-liquid microreaction processes显示文摘The flow ideality of bubbly microflow remains unclear even though it is vital for the design of microreactors,especially the ideality of bubble swarm microflow for large-scale gas-liquid microreaction processes.This work is the first time to report the ideality analysis of the microbubble swarm in a relatively large microchannel.The bubble swarm microflow has undergone two conditions:quasihomogeneous plug flow and liquid phase/gas-liquid qua si-homogeneous phase two-phase laminar flow.Both the deviations of void fraction and bubble velocity from the ideal plug flow can divide into two parts,and the two transition points simultaneously happen at the velocity ratio of 1.25.There exists a critical capillary number to maintain the quasi-homogeneous plug flow,which could be regarded as the general laws for the design of gas-liquid microreactors.Finally,a novel model is developed to predict the bubble velocity.This work could be very helpful for the large-scale gas-liquid microreactors design. | Lin Sheng Yuchao Chen Jian Deng Guangsheng Luo | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,,10: | 1 |

| 9 | Design and Fabrication of Reflective Phase Shifter for Two-Dimensional Terahertz Beam-Scanning Reflectarray显示文摘A reflective phase shifter is proposed to realize the two-dimensional beam-scanning reflectarray.The reflectarray is composed of double-dipole resonant elements in which the phase shift is implemented by applying a driving voltage to the liquid crystal(LC). A 30 ×30 phase shifter sample is fabricated on a quartz substrate with a 480 μm thickness and a 4 cm × 4 cm area.According to the experimental results, 0 to 360° phase shift can be achieved within the bandwidth of 5 GHz. In order to accomplish two-dimensional beam-scanning and reduce the negative impact of driving lines on the reflectarray, a new LC driving method is developed. To verify the accuracy of the proposed approach, three samples of different driving line numbers are designed using the above-mentioned phase shifter, which all have achieved a0-360° phase shift in the bandwidth of 4 GHz. | 12 | Determination of interfacial tension and viscosity under dripping flow in a step T-junction microdevice显示文摘Microfluidic approaches for the determination of interfacial tension and viscosity of liquid-liquid systems still face some challenges.One of them is liquid-liquid systems with low interfacial and high viscosity,because dripping flow in normal microdevices can’t be easily realized for the systems.In this work,we designed a capillary embedded step T-junction microdevice to develop a modified microfluidic approach to determine the interfacial tension of several systems,specially,for the systems with low interfacial tension and high viscosity.This method combines a classical T-junction geometry with a step to strengthen the shear force further to form monodispersed water/oil(w/o)or aqueous two-phase(ATP)droplet under dripping flow.For systems with low interfacial tension and high viscosity,the operating range for dripping flow is relative narrow whereas a wider dripping flow operating range can be realized in this step Tjunction microdevice when the capillary number of the continuous phase is in the range of 0.01 to 0.7.Additionally,the viscosity of the continuous phase was also measured in the same microdevice.Several different systems with an interfacial tension from 1.0 to 8.0 m N·m^(-1) and a viscosity from 0.9 to 10 m Pa·s were measured accurately.The experimental results are in good agreement with the data obtained from a commercial interfacial tensiometer and a spinning digital viscometer.This work could extend the application of microfluidic flows. | Li Ma Yongjin Cui Lin Sheng Chencan Du Jian Deng Guangsheng Luo | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,2: | 0 |
| 13 | A novel method for fast and continuous preparation of superfine titanium dioxide nanoparticles in microfluidic system显示文摘Previously we had developed a microfluidic system that can be easily fabricated by bending a stainless-steel tube into large circular loops.In this study,a fast and continuous preparation method for superfine TiO_(2) nanoparticles(TiO_(2)-NPs)was developed for the aforementioned microfluidic system.The proposed method can yield anatase TiO_(2) in 3.5 min,in contrast to the traditional hydrothermal reaction method,which requires hours or even days.Different reaction conditions,such as reaction temperature(120-200℃),urea concentration(20-100 g/L),and tube length(5-20 m)were investigated.X-ray diffraction and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller analysis indicate that the as-prepared TiO_(2)-NPs have crystalline sizes of 4.1-5.8 nm and specific surface areas of 250.7-330.7 m^(2)/g.Transmission electron microscopy images show that these TiO_(2)-NPs have an even diameter of approximately 5 nm.Moreover,because of their small crystalline sizes and large specific surface areas,most of these as-prepared TiO_(2)-NPs exhibit considerably better absorption and photocatalytic performance with methylene blue than commercial P5 TiO_(2) does. | Nan Deng Yujun Wang Guangsheng Luo | 2022 | Particuology2022,20,1: | 0 |
