1Improved analytic methods for coal surface area and pore size distribution determination using 77 K nitrogen adsorption experiment显示文摘77 K nitrogen adsorption was the most widely used technique for determining surface area and pore size distribution of coal. Brunauer–Emmett–Teller(BET) and Barrett–Joyner–Halenda(BJH) model are commonly used analytic methods for adsorption/desorption isotherm. A Chinese anthracite coal is tested in this study using an improved experimental method and adsorption isotherm analyzed by three adsorption mechanisms at different relative pressure stages. The result shows that the micropore filling adsorption predominates at the relative pressure stage from 6.8E 7 to 9E 3. Theoretically, BET and BJH model are not appropriate for analyzing coal samples which contain micropores. Two new analytic procedures for coal surface area and pore size distribution calculation are developed in this work. The results show that BET model underestimates surface area, and micropores smaller than 1.751 nm account for 35.5% of the total pore volume and 74.2% of the total surface area. The investigation of surface area and pore size distribution by incorporating the influence of micropore is significant for understanding adsorption mechanism of methane and carbon dioxide in coal.Wang Gongda Wang Kai Ren Tingxiang 2014International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2014,24,3:6
2Experimental Study of the Adsorption-Induced Coal Matrix Swelling and Its Impact on ECBM显示文摘Carbon dioxide(CO_2) enhanced coalbed methane(ECBM) is an effective method to improve methane(CH_4) production and this technology has already been used to increase gas production in several field trials worldwide. One major problem is the injection drop in the later period due to permeability decrease caused by coal matrix swelling induced by CO_2 injection. In order to quantify the swelling effect, in this work, coal samples were collected from the Bulli coal seam, Sydney Basin and adsorption tests with simultaneous matrix swelling measurement were conducted. The adsorption and swelling characteristics were analyzed by measuring the adsorption mass simultaneously with the strain measurement. Then experiments were conducted to replicate the ECBM process using the indirect gravity method to obtain the swelling strain change with CO_2 injection. The results show that the coal adsorption capacity in CO_2 is almost two times greater than that in CH_4, and nitrogen adsorption is the least among these gases. A Langmuir-like model can be used to describe the strain with the gas pressure and the swelling strain induced by gas adsorption has a linear relationship with gas adsorption quantity. 3Research on desorption and regeneration of simulated decarbonization solution in the process of CO_2 capture using ammonia method显示文摘Study on desorption and regeneration of simulated decarbonization solution using ammonia method for CO2 capture was carried out in order to understand the feature of regeneration of decarbonization solution. The mechanisms about solution desorption after decarbonization were introduced briefly. 5A multiphysics-viscoplastic cap model for simulating blast response of cemented tailings backfill显示文摘Although a large number of previous researches have significantly contributed to the understanding of the quasi-static mechanical behavior of cemented tailings backfill,an evolutive porous medium used in underground mine cavities,very few efforts have been made to improve the knowledge on its response under sudden dynamic loading during the curing process.In fact,there is a great need for such information given that cemented backfill structures are often subjected to blast loadings due to mine exploitations.In this study,a coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical-chemical(THMC)-viscoplastic cap model is developed to describe the behavior of cementing mine backfill material under blast loading.A THMC model for cemented backfill is adopted to evaluate its behavior and evolution of its properties in curing processes with coupled thermal,hydraulic,mechanical and chemical factors.Then,the model is coupled to a Perzyna type of viscoplastic model with a modified smooth surface cap envelope and a variable bulk modulus,in order to reasonably capture the nonlinear and rate-dependent behaviors of the cemented tailings backfill under blast loading.All of the parameters required for the variable-modulus viscoplastic cap model were obtained by applying the THMC model to reproducing evolution of cemented paste backfill(CPB)properties in the curing process.Thus,the behavior of hydrating cemented backfill under high-rate impacts can be evaluated under any curing time of concern.The validation results of the proposed model indicate a good agreement between the experimental and the simulated results.The authors believe that the proposed model will contribute to a better understanding of the performance of hydrating cemented backfill under blasting,and also to practical risk management of backfill structures associated with such a dynamic condition.Gongda Lu Mamadou Fall Liang Cui 2017Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2017,9,3:1

11Undesorbable residual gas in coal seams and its influence on gas drainage显示文摘The definition of ‘‘residual gas' can be found in different scenarios, such as the ‘‘fast' and ‘‘slow' desorption methods of measuring gas content and the sorption hysteresis test and gas management of coal mines, however, its meaning varies a lot in different contexts. The main aim of this paper is to discuss the existence of truly undesorbable residual gas in coal seam conditions and its impacts on sorption model and gas drainage efficiency. We believe the undesorbable residual gas does exist due to the observation of the extended slow desorption test and the sorption hysteresis test. The origin of undesorbable residual gas may be because of the inaccessible(closed or semi-closed) pores. Some gas molecules produced during coalification are stored in these inaccessible pores, since the coal is relatively intact in the coal seam condition, these gas molecules cannot escape during natural desorption and then create the undesorbable residual gas. Based on the existing adsorption models, we propose the improved desorption versions by taking into consideration the role of residual gas. By numerically simulating a gas drainage case, the gas contents after different drainage times are studied to understand the influence of residual gas content on gas drainage. The results indicate that the influence starts to be obvious even when the total gas content is at a high level, and the impact becomes more and more apparent with increasing drainage time. 16Comparative analysis of deformation and failure mechanisms of underground powerhouses on the left and right banks of Baihetan hydropower station显示文摘The stability of the surrounding rocks of large underground powerhouses is always emphasized during the construction process,especially in large-scale underground projects under construction,such as the Baihetan hydropower station in China.According to field investigations,numerical simulations and monitoring data analysis,we present a comparative analysis of the deformation and failure characteristics of the surrounding rocks of underground powerhouses on the left and right banks of the Baihetan hydropower station.The failure characteristics and deformation magnitude of the underground powerhouses on the left and right banks are quite different.Under the disadvantageous condition where the maximum principal stress intersects the axis of the powerhouse at a large angle,the left bank underground powerhouse shows prominent stress-controlled failure characteristics such as spalling,slack collapse and concrete cracking.Although the maximum principal stress is in the favorable condition which intersects the right bank powerhouse at a small angle,the relatively high intermediate principal stress with an angle subvertical to the right bank powerhouse plays an essential role in its deformation and failure,indicating that the influence of high intermediate principal stress cannot be ignored.In addition,structural plane-controlled failure and large deformation are also more evident on the right bank due to the extensive distribution of weak structural planes and complex surrounding rock properties.Anchi Shi Congjiang Li Wangbing Hong Gongda Lu Jiawen Zhou Haibo Li 2022Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2022,14,3:0
17Selective capture of Tl2O from flue gas with formation of p-n junction on V_(2)O_(5)-WO_(3)/TiO_(2)catalyst under working conditions显示文摘Thallium(Tl)compounds,highly toxic to biology,are usually released into flue gas during fossil/minerals combustion,and further distributed in water and soil.In this work,we fundamentally investigated the capture of gaseous Tl_(2)O by industrial V2O5-WO3/TiO_(2)catalyst under working condition in Tl-containing flue gas.Experimental and theoretical results indicated that the Tl_(2)O has significant electron-feeding capacity and easily donate electron to unoccupied orbitals of TiO_(2),leading to dismutation of Ti 2p and inartificial formation of p-n junction on TiO_(2)surface,which prompted Tl_(2)O selectively interacted with TiO_(2)in flue gas.Herein,we proposed and verified an effective way to capture gaseous Tl_(2)O,which offered almost the best choice to eliminate Tl emission from flue gas and expanded the function of the TiO_(2)-based catalyst.The formation of p-n junction on commercial V2O5-WO3/TiO_(2)catalyst under working condition was revealed for the first time,which can be a valuable reference for both heterocatalysis and electro/photocatalysis.Jianjun Chen Rongqiang Yin Gongda Chen Junyu Lang Xiaoping Chen Xuefeng Chu Junhua Li 2023Green Energy & Environment2023,8,1:0
