Hepatitis viruses and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma: A review显示文摘Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma(NHL) is among the haematological malignancies with high prevalence worldwide, causing estimated 355 900 new cases and 191 400 deaths in 2008. High prevalence of NHL is documented in economically more developed areas while low prevalence is observed in less developed areas of the globe. A wide array of environmental factors have been reported to be either directly involved or in modifying the risk of NHL development. In addition to these factors, a number of infectious agents, chiefly viruses have also been implicated in the development of NHL. This article reviews the available literature to discuss the role of hepatitis viruses in NHL development, possible mechanisms of lymphomagenesis and also identify the areas in which further research is required to better understand this disease. A brief discussion on the clinical aspects such as classification, staging, treatment approaches have also been included in this article. | Sibnarayan Datta Soumya Chatterjee Rudragoud S Policegoudra Hemant K Gogoi Lokendra Singh | 2012 | World Journal of Virology2012,1,6: | 11
Overview of Biomass Conversion to Electricity and Hydrogen and Recent Developments in Low-Temperature Electrochemical Approaches显示文摘Biomass is plant or animal material that stores both chemical and solar energies, and that is widely used for heat production and various industrial processes.Biomass contains a large amount of the element hydrogen,so it is an excellent source for hydrogen production. Therefore, biomass is a sustainable source for electricity or hydrogen production.Although biomass power plants and reforming plants have been commercialized,it remains a difficult challenge to develop more effective and economic technologies to further improve the conversion efficiency and reduce the environmental impacts in the conversion process. The use of biomass-based flow fuel cell technology to directly convert biomass to electricity and the use of electrolysis technology to convert biomass into hydrogen at a low temperature are two new research areas that have recently attracted interest. This paper first briefly introduces traditional technologies related to the conversion of biomass to electricity and hydrogen, and then reviews the new developments in flow biomass fuel cells(FBFCs)and biomass electrolysis for hydrogen production(BEHP)in detail.Further challenges in these areas are discussed. | Wei Liu Congmin Liu Parikshit Gogoi Yulin Deng | 2020 | Engineering2020,6,12: | 7
Assessment of positioning performances in Italy from GPS, BDS and GLONASS constellations显示文摘The use of multiple GNSS constellations has been beneficiary to positioning performances and reliability in recent times, especially in low cost mass-market setups. Along with GPS and GLONASS, GALILEO and BDS are the other two constellations aiming for global coverage. With ample research demonstrating the benefits of GALILEO in the European region, there has been a lack of study to demonstrate the performance of BDS in Europe, especially with mass-market GNSS receivers. This study makes a comparison of the performances between the combined GPS-GLONASS and GPS-BDS constellations in Europe with such receivers. Static open sky and kinematic urban environment tests are performed with two GNSS receivers as master and rover at short baselines and the RTK and double differenced post processed solutions are analyzed. The pros and cons of both the constellation choices is demonstrated in terms of fixed solution accuracies, percentage of false fixes, time to first fix for RTK and float solution accuracies for post processed measurements. Centimeter level accuracy is achieved in both constellations for static positioning with GPS-BDS combination having a slightly better performance in comparable conditions and smaller intervals. GPS-GLONASS performed slightly better for longer intervals due to the current inconsistent availability of BDS satellites. Even if the static tests have shown a better performance of GPS-BDS combination, the kinematic results show that there are no significant differences between the two tested configurations. | Ambrogio Maria Manzino Paolo Dabove Neil Gogoi | 2018 | Geodesy and Geodynamics2018,9,6: | 5
Solar-Driven Hydrogen Peroxide Production Using Polymer-Supported Carbon Dots as Heterogeneous Catalyst显示文摘Safe, sustainable, and green production of hydro gen peroxide is an exciting proposition due to the role of hydrogen peroxide as a green oxidant and energy carrier for fuel cells. The current work reports the development of carbon dot-impregnated waterborne hyperbranched polyurethane as a heterogeneous photo-catalyst for solar-driven production of hydrogen peroxide. The results reveal that the carbon dots possess a suitable band-gap of 2.98 eV,which facilitates effective splitting of both water and ethanol under solar irradiation. Inclusion of the carbon dots within the eco-friendly polymeric material ensures their catalytic activity and also provides a facile route for easy catalyst separation, especially from a solubilizing medium. The overall process was performed in accordance with the principles of green chemistry using bio-based precursorsand aqueous medium. This work highlights the potential of carbon dots as an effective photo-catalyst. | Satyabrat Gogoi Niranjan Karak | 2017 | Nano-Micro Letters2017,9,4: | 2

Liver injury in COVID-19:The hepatic aspect of the respiratory syndrome-what we know so far显示文摘The 2019 novel coronavirus disease(COVID-19)pandemic due to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)has posed a serious threat to global public health.Although primarily, the infection causes lung injury, liver enzyme abnormalities have also been reported to occur during the course of the disease. We conducted an extensive literature review using the PubMed database on articles covering a broad range of issues related to COVID-19 and hepatic injury. The present review summarizes available information on the spectrum of liver involvement, the possible mechanisms and risk factors of liver injury due to SARS-CoV-2 infection, and the prognostic significance of the presence of liver injury.Hopefully, this review will enable clinicians, especially the hepatologists,to understand and manage the liver derangements they may encounter in these patients better and provide guidance for further studies on the liver injury of COVID-19. | Prajna Anirvan Pankaj Bharali Mrinal Gogoi Paul J Thuluvath Shivaram P Singh Sanjaya K Satapathy | 2020 | World Journal of Hepatology2020,12,12: | 2

Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibition reveals a potential mechanism to promote neuroprotection and treat neuropathic pain显示文摘Neuropathic pain is triggered by the lesions to peripheral nerves which alter their structure and function. Neuroprotective approaches that limit the pathological changes and improve the behavioral outcome have been well explained in different experimental models of neuropathy but translation of such strategies to clinics has been disappointing. Experimental evidences revealed the role of free radicals, especially peroxynitrite after the nerve injury. They provoke oxidative DNA damage and consequent over-activation of the poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase(PARP) upregulates pro-inflammatory pathways, causing bioenergetic crisis and neuronal death. Along with these changes, it causes mitochondrial dysfunction leading to neuronal apoptosis. In related preclinical studies agents that neutralize the free radicals and pharmacological inhibitors of PARP have shown benefits in treating experimental neuropathy. This article reviews the involvement of PARP over-activation in trauma induced neuropathy and therapeutic significance of PARP inhibitors in the experimental neuropathy and neuropathic pain. | Prashanth Komirishetty Aparna Areti Ranadeep Gogoi Ramakrishna Sistla Ashutosh Kumar | 2016 | Neural Regeneration Research2016,11,10: | 2
