1Association between serum somatostatin levels and glucose-lipid metabolism in the Jino ethnic minority and Han Chinese population显示文摘We aim to investigate the relationship between serum somatostatin(SST) levels and glucose-lipid metabolism at various stages of glucose tolerance in the Jino ethnic minority(n=111) and Han population(n=113) of Yunnan Province, southwest China.Anthropometric parameters and biochemical traits were measured. Serum SST and plasma glucagon levels were tested. Participants were divided into three subgroups: isolated fasting hyperglycemia(IFH), isolated post challenge hyperglycemia(IPH)and normal glucose tolerance(NGT). SST levels were found lower while glucagon levels were significantly higher in the Jino ethnic with IPH(P=0.0026 and P=0.0069, respectively). Fasting glucose and high density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C)levels were higher(P=0.0055 and P=0.0021, respectively) and fasting insulin levels and homeostasis model assessments β-cell function were lower(P=0.0479 and P=0.0007, respectively) in the Jino population. After adjusting for confounding factors, the serum SST level was associated with glucagon(P<0.0001) in both populations. The SST level was correlated with fasting Cpeptide(P=0.0267) in Jino and HDL-C levels in Han(P=0.0079). 2Microstructure and optical properties of Ag_5In_5Te_(47)Sb_( 33) phase change thin films with high reflection in thermal annealing process显示文摘The microstructure and optical properties of Ag-5In-5Te 47Sb 33 phase change films with high reflection in the thermal annealing process were systematically reported. The as_deposited film is amorphous and its crystalline temperature is 160℃. The annealed films are crystalline. The crystalline phases are AgInTe-2, AgSbTe-2 and Sb when annealed at low temperature. When annealed at 220℃, the AgInTe-2 phase disappears and the amount of AgSbTe-2 is the largest. The research of electronic transmission microscopy shows that the morphology of AgSbTe 2 is sphere and that of Sb is bludgeon. 9Enamel carbon isotope evidence of diet and habitat of Gigantopithecus blacki and associated mammalian megafauna in the Early Pleistocene of South China显示文摘Enamel stable carbon isotope analyses were conducted on the large fossil ape Gigantopithecus blacki and an associated mammalian megafauna from Longgudong Cave in Jianshi and Juyuandong Cave in Liucheng, South China. The range in δ13C values (-18.8‰ to -14.1‰) indicates that G. blacki and other large mammals fed on solely C3 biomass, and lived in forest habitats, and not open country or savannas. These results are consistent with other faunal and floral analyses for that time. The diet and habitat of G. blacki were significantly different from those of early hominins (Australopithecus and Paranthropus) from South and East Africa. 11Pattern formation in Rayleigh-Bénard convection: Numerical simulation with a coupled-map-lattice model显示文摘The various patterns formed in Rayleigh-Bé- nard convection under different conditions are numerically simulated with a coupled-map-lattice model. In the case of a lower aspect ratio (L/d=5), the simulations vividly depicted the main features of the transition process from a laminar state to a soft turbulence and then to a hard turbulence. In this case, the cellular structure in a horizontal section is also reproduced. In the case of a larger aspect ratio (L/d=30), the simulations successfully reproduced the spiral-defect chaos and target chaos in the initial stage of the pattern evolution which were recently found in experiments. In this case, for a fluid of Pr=1, it is verified in simulations that both the ideal straight rolls and spiral-defect chaos are stable attractors in the same parameter regime, and that the initial condition is a decisive factor for which one of the two is formed. 12Effect of Geometric Variation of Root Fillet on the Flow Characteristic of a Transonic Compressor Rotor显示文摘The effects of root fillet on the flow behavior of high loading compressor rotor tends to be much more crucial in practice,and it’s necessary to explore the internal relations between the geometric effects of root fillet and the flow behaviors of rotor blade.Therefore,eight types of root fillet with different radius were designed and installed around the blade root of NASA Rotor67.With the aids of fillet,the corner separation near suction side of blade root has been suppressed significantly in that the root fillet reconstructs the circumferential bending distributon of the suction-side curve from leading edge to trailing edge,and reduces the genmetric turning angle in the latter part of root section near trailing edge.However,apart from the improvement of corner flow characteristic caused by root fillet,both the tip flow deterioration and the decrease of stall margin occur in the new rotors,which indicates an indirect correlation between tip flow characteristic and root fillet exists indeed in the three-dimensional flowfields of transonic rotor.Actually,by means of the new radial pressure equilibrium affected by root fillet,a larger radius of root fillet contributes to much larger blade loading and stronger leakage flow in tip region of compressor rotor.As a result,a monotonic decrease of stall margin was present in the transonic rotor with increase of the root fillet radius.Subsequently,the positive bending of blade tip was introduced to deal with the negative effect caused by the root fillet indirectly.Combined with the effects of root fillet and positive tip-bending on the radial pressure equilibrium existing in channels,both the radial and streamwise loading distributions tend to be much more reasonable in new rotors,and the static pressure difference in former 1/3 chord of blade tip has decreased clearly which benefits to reduce the strength of leakage flow in tip region.Therefore,the flow deterioration in tip region of transonic rotor induced by root fillet has been well suppressed,with an obvious improvement of overall performance occurring in new rotors.CUI Weiwei LIU Yuqiang LIU Fusong YANG Laishun LI Longting YAO Fei WANG Xinglu WANG Cuiping 2023Journal of Thermal Science2023,32,4:0
13Buckle Propagation in Steel Pipes of Ultra-high Strength:Experiments,Theories and Numerical Simulations显示文摘In this paper,experimental,theoretical and numerical approaches were employed to scrutinize the buckle propagation events occurring in pipes subjected to external pressure.Two groups of samples with different radius-to-thickness ratios were fabricated using steel pipes of ultra-high strength and were subjected to compression of external pressure in a sealed pressure vessel specially designed and customized for the experiment.Experimental results were recorded through a data acquisition system.For facilitating the theoretical calculations,uniaxial tensile tests were performed on tensile pieces cut from the same pipes to obtain the material properties.It was found from the experimental results that once a buckle is initiated in a pipe,the external pressure dropped to a specific value called buckle propagation pressure and kept at this level until the whole pipe is flattened into a dog-bone shape.Based on the measured material properties and geometric parameters,theoretical solutions were computed using established ring models and shell model,and finite element predictions were also obtained from ABAQUS software.The efficiency and accuracy of the shell model and finite element model were expounded by comparing various theoretical solutions and numerical predictions with the experimental results.With the authenticated shell model and finite element model,a deep insight into the phenomenon of buckle propagation of pressurized long pipes was provided by performing a series of parametric study.Haofeng Liang Jiahui Zhou Jixin Lin Fusong Jin Fei Xia Jianghong Xue Jiachu Xu 2020Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2020,33,4:0
14Numerical and experimental study on dynamics of the planar mechanical system considering two revolute clearance joints显示文摘Due to assembly,wear and manufacturing errors and clearance in the joints are inevitable.When the clearance is introduced into a mechanical system,the impact force in the clearance joint will cause undesirable vibration of the system.In this paper,the dynamic responses of the mechanical system with two revolute clearance joints are studied using computational and experimental methodology.The clearance joint is considered as force constraint.The normal contact force and tangential friction force between the journal and bearing in a clearance joint are modeled using a nonlinear contact force model considering energy loss and a modified Coulomb friction model considering a dynamic friction coefficient,respectively.A planar slider-crank mechanism with two revolute clearance joints is used to implement the study.The dynamic responses obtained from numerical simulation are compared with the experimental test.Numerical simulations and experimental tests for different clearance sizes and crank speeds are presented and discussed,respectively.The simulation results agree quite well with those of the experiment for different cases,which proves the accuracy and efficiency of the computational method for dynamics analysis of the mechanical system with two revolute clearance joints in this study.The investigation indicates that the clearances in revolute joints significantly affect the dynamic characteristics of mechanical systems,which must be considered in the precision analysis,design,and control of multibody systems,especially for high-speed machinery.Zhengfeng Bai Fusong Xu Jijun Zhao 2021International Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics2021,1,2:0
15Seismic response of a mid-story isolated structure considering SSI in mountainous areas under long-period earthquakes显示文摘At present,there is not much research on mid-story isolated structures in mountainous areas.In this study,a model of a mid-story isolated structure considering soil-structure interaction(SSI)in mountainous areas is established along with a model that does not consider SSI.Eight long-period earthquake waves and two ordinary earthquake waves are selected as inputs for the dynamic time history analysis of the structure.The results show that the seismic response of a mid-story isolated structure considering SSI in mountainous areas can be amplified when compared with a structure that does not consider SSI.The structure response under long-period earthquakes is larger than that of ordinary earthquakes.The structure response under far-field harmonic-like earthquakes is larger than that of near-fault pulse-type earthquakes.The structure response under near-fault pulse-type earthquakes is larger than that of far-field non-harmonic earthquakes.When subjected to long-period earthquakes,the displacement of the isolated bearings exceeded the limit value,which led to instability and overturning of the structure.The structure with dampers in the isolated story could adequately control the nonlinear response of the structure,effectively reduce the displacement of the isolated bearings,and provide a convenient,efficient and economic method not only for new construction but also to retrofit existing structures.Wan Feng Qin Shengwu Liu Dewen Zhao Tiange Zheng Yanping Shan Hang Li Zhiang Peng Fusong Xu Jingran Lei Min 2024Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2024,23,1:0
16Protein Structure Prediction:Challenges,Advances,and the Shift of Research Paradigms显示文摘Protein structure prediction is an interdisciplinary research topic that has attracted researchers from multiple fields,including biochemistry,medicine,physics,mathematics,and computer science.These researchers adopt various research paradigms to attack the same structure prediction problem:biochemists and physicists attempt to reveal the principles governing protein folding;mathematicians,especially statisticians,usually start from assuming a probability distribution of protein structures given a target sequence and then find the most likely structure,while computer scientists formulate protein structure prediction as an optimization problem-finding the structural conformation with the lowest energy or minimizing the difference between predicted structure and native structure.These research paradigms fall into the two statistical modeling cultures proposed by Leo Breiman,namely,data modeling and algorithmic modeling.Recently,we have also witnessed the great success of deep learning in protein structure prediction.In this review,we present a survey of the efforts for protein structure prediction.We compare the research paradigms adopted by researchers from different fields,with an emphasis on the shift of research paradigms in the era of deep learning.In short,the algorithmic modeling techniques,especially deep neural networks,have considerably improved the accuracy of protein structure prediction;however,theories interpreting the neural networks and knowledge on protein folding are still highly desired.Bin Huang Lupeng Kong Chao Wang Fusong Ju Qi Zhang Jianwei Zhu Tiansu Gong Haicang Zhang Chungong Yu Wei-Mou Zheng Dongbo Bu 2023Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2023,21,5:0
17Triazole-gold (TAAu) catalyzed three-component coupling (A3 reaction) towards the synthesis of 2,4-disubstituted quinoline derivatives显示文摘A gold-catalyzed three-component coupling reaction (A3 reaction) was developed as an efficient approach for the synthesis of challenging 2, 4-disubstituted quinoline derivatives. Compared to previously reported Cu/Au bi-catalyst system, this protocol enables achieving A3 reaction only in the presence of triazole-gold catalyst.
