1An investigation of the effects of dust storms on rat lung using HRCT and blood gas analysis显示文摘The increasing intensity and frequency of sand-dust storms in China has led to greater prominence of associated environmental and health issues. Many studies have focused on the health effects of air particulate contaminants, but few formal investigations have studied the effects of sand-dust storms on human and animal health. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of dust storms on rat lung by using high resolution computed tomography(HRCT) and blood gas analysis through a wind tunnel simulating. We found that the rat lung damage effects can be detected by the HRCT imaging after exposure to sand-dust storm environments, but had no obvious result through blood gas analysis. Exposure durations positively correlated with the damage degree to lung tissue. 2Jahn-Teller distortion assisted interstitial nitrogen engineering:Enhanced oxygen dehydrogenation activity of N-doped Mn_(x)Co_(3-x)O_(4) hierarchical micro-nano particles显示文摘Rational design of earth-abundant transition metal oxides catalysts is highly desirable for developing sustainable chemical processes.Herein,we demonstrate a prospective interstitial nitrogen engineering for fabricating oxygen vacancies(OVs)-rich nitrogen-doped-Mn_(x)Co_(3-x)O_(4)(N-Mn_(x)Co_(3-x)O_(4))oxide catalyst,in which the ratio of OVs concentration of N-Mn_(x)Co_(3-x)O_(4)to Mn species is as high as 1:1,according to the characterizations of X-ray absorption(XAS)and X-ray photoelectron(XPS)spectroscopies.The promising strategy of interstitial nitrogen engineering through lattice distortion caused by the Jahn-Teller effect can significantly increase the amount of interstitial nitrogen.The resulting catalyst enables an additive-free aerobic dehydrogenation coupling of aromatic amine to afford azo compounds with>99%yield and>99%selectivity at 60☆.We observed the superb catalytic activity is promoted by the enhanced oxygen mobility in OVs,which were created by the interstitial nitrogen in the catalyst matrix.The presence of interstitial nitrogen in transition metal oxides in this study shows how the manipulation of catalyst matrix can increase the OV sites to promote aerobic oxidation reaction.Yangxin Jin Fengfeng Li Peixin Cui Yun Yang Qingping Ke Minh Ngoc Ha Wangcheng Zhan Fei Ruan Chao Wan Zhao Lei Van Noi Nguyen Wei Chen Jun Tang 2021Nano Research2021,14,8:1

4A telomere-to-telomere reference genome provides genetic insight into the pentacyclic triterpenoid biosynthesis in Chaenomeles speciosa显示文摘Chaenomeles speciosa(2n=34),a medicinal and edible plant in the Rosaceae,is commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine.To date,the lack of genomic sequence and genetic studies has impeded efforts to improve its medicinal value.Herein,we report the use of an integrative approach involving PacBio HiFi(third-generation)sequencing and Hi-C scaffolding to assemble a high-quality telomere-to-telomere genome of C.speciosa.The genome comprised 650.4 Mb with a contig N50 of 35.5 Mb.Of these,632.3 Mb were anchored to 17 pseudo-chromosomes,in which 12,4,and 1 pseudo-chromosomes were represented by a single contig,two contigs,and four contigs,respectively.Eleven pseudo-chromosomes had telomere repeats at both ends,and four had telomere repeats at a single end.Repetitive sequences accounted for 49.5%of the genome,while a total of 45515 protein-coding genes have been annotated.The genome size of C.speciosa was relatively similar to that of Malus domestica.Expanded or contracted gene families were identified and investigated for their association with different plant metabolisms or biological processes.In particular,functional annotation characterized gene families that were associated with the biosynthetic pathway of oleanolic and ursolic acids,two abundant pentacyclic triterpenoids in the fruits of C.speciosa.Taken together,this telomere-to-telomere and chromosome-level genome of C.speciosa not only provides a valuable resource to enhance understanding of the biosynthesis of medicinal compounds in tissues,but also promotes understanding of the evolution of the Rosaceae.Shaofang He Duanyang Weng Yipeng Zhang Qiusheng Kong Keyue Wang Naliang Jing Fengfeng Li Yuebin Ge Hui Xiong Lei Wu De-Yu Xie Shengqiu Feng Xiaqing Yu Xuekui Wang Shaohua Shu Zhinan Mei 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,10:0
