| 1 | Research on the slope spectrum of the Loess Plateau显示文摘A new concept dealing with digital analysis of loess terrain,slope spectrum,is presented and discussed in this paper,by introducing its characteristic,represen-tation and extracting method from DEMs. Using 48 geomorphological units in dif-ferent parts of the loess as test areas and 5 m-resolution DEMs as original test data,the quantitative depiction and spatial distribution of slope spectrum in China's Loess Plateau have been studied on the basis of a series of carefully-designed experiments. In addition,initial experiment indicates a strong relationship between the slope spectrum and the loess landform types,displaying a potential importance of the slope spectrum in geomorphological studies. Based on the slope spectrums derived from the 25 m-resolution DEM data in whole loess terrain in northern part of Shaanxi,13 slope spectrum indices were extracted and integrated into a compre-hensive layer with image integration method. Based on that,a series of unsuper-vised classifications was applied in order to make a landform classification in northern Shaanxi Loess Plateau. Experimental results show that the slope spec-trum analysis is an effective method in revealing the macro landform features. A continuous change of slope spectrum from south to north in northern Shaanxi Loess Plateau shows an obvious spatial distribution of different loess landforms. | 3 | Geomorphological inheritance for loess landform evolution in a severe soil erosion region of Loess Plateau of China based on digital elevation models显示文摘The influence of pre-quaternary underlying terrain on the formation of loess landforms, i.e., the geomorphological inheritance issue, is a focus in studies of loess landforms. On the basis of multi-source information, we used GIS spatial analysis methods to construct a simulated digital elevation model of a pre-quaternary paleotopographic surface in a severe soil erosion area of the Loess Plateau. To reveal the spatial relationship between underlying paleotopography and modern terrain, an XY scatter diagram, hypsometric curve, gradient and concavity of terrain profiles are used in the experiments. The experiments show that the altitude, gradient and concavity results have significant linear positive correlation between both terrains, which shows a relatively strong landform inheritance relationship, particularly in the intact and complete loess deposit areas. Despite the current surface appearing somewhat changed from the original shape of the underlying terrain under different erosion forces, we reveal that the modern terrain generally smoothes the topographic relief of underlying terrain in the loess deposition process. | 4 | Performance of biotrickling filters packed with structured or cubic polyurethane sponges for VOC removal显示文摘Two identical bench-scale biotrickling filters (BTFs),BTF 1 and BTF 2,were evaluated for toluene removal at various gas empty bed contact times (EBCTs) and organic loadings.BTF 1 and BTF 2 were packed with structured and cubic synthetic polyurethane sponges,respectively.At a constant toluene loading of 16 g/(m 3 ·hr),toluene removal efficiencies decreased from 98.8% to 64.3% for BTF 1 and from 98.4% to 74.1% for BTF 2 as gas EBCT decreased from 30 to 5 sec.When the toluene loading increased from 35 to 140 g/(m 3 ·hr) at a gas EBCT of 30 sec,the removal efficiencies decreased from 99.1% to 77.4% for BTF 1 and from 99.0% to 81.5% for BTF 2.The pressure drop for both BTFs increased with increased air flow rate,and did not significantly vary while the toluene loading was increased under similar operation conditions.BTF 1 and BTF 2 could start up successfully within 19 and 27 days,respectively,when packed with fresh sponge media,and the performances could be restored in 3-7 days after biomass was removed and wasted from the media.BTF 2 displayed higher removal efficiency even under shorter EBCT or higher loading rate than BTF1 when other operation conditions were similar,while it showed lower pressure drop than BTF 1 during the whole period of operation.These results demonstrated that both BTFs could treat waste gas containing toluene effectively. | Chunping Yang Guanlong Yu Guangming Zeng Haining Yang Fayuan Chen Congying Jin | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,8: | 10 |

| 6 | Foliar stoichiometry under different mycorrhizal types in relation to temperature and precipitation in grassland显示文摘Aims mycorrhizas play key roles in important ecosystem processes and functions.Carbon(C),nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)concentrations and their ratios are very important foliar traits and their cycling constrains most ecosystem processes.thus,this study addresses the influence of mycorrhizal strategies on these foliar nutrients and their response to climate change.Methods a new database was established including mycorrhizal types and leaf C_(mass),N_(mass),P_(mass),C:N and N:P of each plant species based on He et al.[(2008)leaf nitrogen:Phosphorus stoichiometry across Chinese grassland biomes.oecologia 155:301-10].the predomi-nant type of mycorrhizal association of each plant species was classified according to the published literature and our own obser-vations.We analyzed leaf C_(mass),N_(mass),P_(mass),C:N and N:P among 112 plant species in 316 samples of ascertained mycorrhizal type in the major grassland biomes of China.Important Findingsthe results show highly significant variation among different myc-orrhizal strategy types for foliar C_(mass),N_(mass) and N:P.the highest foliar C_(mass) was observed in ectotrophic mycorrhiza(ECM)type(469.8mg g1)followed by that in arbuscular mycorrhiza(AM)type(443.884 mg g1)and nonmycorrhizal(NM)type(434.0 mg g^(-1)).The foliar N concentration was significantly higher in NM type(31.0mg g^(-1)).However,the AM type had the greater C:N value(19)than the other types although less variation in C_(mass) and N:P among abuscular types on AM strategy was observed.Foliar traits showed significant variation in response to precipita-tion(mean growing season and annual precipitation(GSP and MAP))and temperature(mean growing season and annual tem-peratures(GST and MAT))depending on different mycorrhizal strategies and arbuscular types.When the responses of all folia parameters to precipitation and temperature were compared,the influence of GSP on leaf traits was greater than the influence of GST. | Zhaoyong Shi Xiaogai Hou Yinglong Chen Fayuan Wangan Yanfang Miao | 2013 | Journal of Plant Ecology2013,6,4: | 5 |

| 8 | Terrain relief periods of loess landforms based on terrain profiles of the Loess Plateau in northern Shaanxi Province,China显示文摘The Loess Plateau is densely covered by numerous types of gullies which represent different soil erosion intensities.Therefore,research on topographic variation features of the loess gullies is of great significance to environmental protection and ecological management.Using a5 m digital elevation model and data from a national geographic database,this paper studies different topographical areas of the Loess Plateau,including Shenmu,Suide,Yanchuan,Ganquan,Yijun,and Chunhua,to derive representative gully terrain profile data of the sampled areas.First,the profile data are standardized in MATLAB and then decomposed using the ensemble empirical mode decomposition method.Then,a significance test is performed on the results;the test confidence is 95% to 99%.The most reliable decomposition component is then used to calculate the relief period and size of the gullies.The results showed that relief periods of the Chunhua,Shenmu,Yijun,Yuanchuan,Ganquan,and Suide gullies are 1110.14 m,1096.85 m,1002.49 m,523.48 m,498.12 m,and 270.83 m,respectively.In terms of gully size,the loess landforms are sorted as loess fragmented tableland,aeolian and dune,loess tableland,loess ridge,loess hill and loess ridge,and loess hill,in descending order.Taken together,the gully terrain features of the sample areas and the results of the study are approximately consistent with the actual terrain profiles.Thus,we conclude that ensemble empirical mode decomposition is a reliable method for the study of the relief and topography of loess gullies. | Jianjun CAO Guoan TANG Xuan FANG Jilong LI Yongjuan LIU Yiting ZHANG Ying ZHU Fayuan LI | 2019 | Frontiers of Earth Science2019,13,2: | 4 |

| 18 | Moment-independence global sensitivity analysis for the system with fuzzy failure state and its Kriging method显示文摘For the system with the fuzzy failure state, the effects of the input random variables and the fuzzy failure state on the fuzzy probability of failure for the structural system are studied, and the moment-independence global sensitivity analysis(GSA) model is proposed to quantitatively measure these effects. According to the fuzzy random theory, the fuzzy failure state is transformed into an equivalent new random variable for the system, and the complementary function of the membership function of the fuzzy failure state is defined as the cumulative distribution function(CDF) of the new random variable. After introducing the new random variable, the equivalent performance function of the original problem is built. The difference between the unconditional fuzzy probability of failure and conditional fuzzy probability of failure is defined as the moment-independent GSA index. In order to solve the proposed GSA index efficiently, the Kriging-based algorithm is developed to estimate the defined moment-independence GSA index.
