| 1 | Role of bevacizumab intraocular injection in the management of neovascular glaucoma显示文摘AIM:To assess the long-term effects of intraocular bevacizumab(Avastin)injections as an adjunctive drug to manage patients with neovascular glaucoma(NVG).METHODS:A retrospective study was conducted consisting of 34 eyes with secondary NVG caused by proliferative diabetic retinopathy(n=25),ischemic central retinal vein occlusion(n=8),and retinal ischemia resulting from persistent detachment(n=1)were managed by intraocular injections of bevacizumab(1.25 mg/0.05 m L),in addition to other treatments.The main outcome measure was the change in the degree of iris neovascularization.Secondary outcomes included intraocular pressure and the number of additional interventions or antiglaucoma medications administered after injection.RESULTS:All patients were followed-up for at least 12 mo.At the last follow-up,complete regression of rubeosis irides was detectable in 13(38.2%)eyes and incomplete regression in 21 eyes(61.8%).The mean intraocular pressure was 45.32±7.185 mm Hg at baseline and significantly decreased to 26.15±5.679 mm Hg at the last follow-up visit(P=0.000005).Patients received an average of 4.97 injections.As additional treatments,12 eyes(35%)received laser photocoagulation and 6 eyes(18%)underwent retinocryopexy.No further treatment was needed in 16 eyes(47.1%).CONCLUSION:Intravitreal bevacizumab injection can have a favorable effect in controlling intraocular pressure and pain control in patients with NVG because it decreases the angiogenesis and helps to augment the results of conventional procedures.The primary cause of retinal ischemia should be always targeted. | Fawaz Al Sarireh Hamzeh Mohammad Alrawashdeh Khalid Al Zubi Khalil Al Salem | 2021 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2021，14，6： | 4 |

| 3 | Data Analytics for the Identification of Fake Reviews Using Supervised Learning显示文摘Fake reviews,also known as deceptive opinions,are used to mislead people and have gained more importance recently.This is due to the rapid increase in online marketing transactions,such as selling and purchasing.E-commerce provides a facility for customers to post reviews and comment about the product or service when purchased.New customers usually go through the posted reviews or comments on the website before making a purchase decision.However,the current challenge is how new individuals can distinguish truthful reviews from fake ones,which later deceives customers,inflicts losses,and tarnishes the reputation of companies.The present paper attempts to develop an intelligent system that can detect fake reviews on ecommerce platforms using n-grams of the review text and sentiment scores given by the reviewer.The proposed methodology adopted in this study used a standard fake hotel review dataset for experimenting and data preprocessing methods and a term frequency-Inverse document frequency(TF-IDF)approach for extracting features and their representation.For detection and classification,n-grams of review texts were inputted into the constructed models to be classified as fake or truthful.However,the experiments were carried out using four different supervised machine-learning techniques and were trained and tested on a dataset collected from the Trip Advisor website.The classification results of these experiments showed that na飗e Bayes(NB),support vector machine(SVM),adaptive boosting(AB),and random forest(RF)received 88%,93%,94%,and 95%,respectively,based on testing accuracy and tje F1-score.The obtained results were compared with existing works that used the same dataset,and the proposed methods outperformed the comparable methods in terms of accuracy. | Saleh Nagi Alsubari Sachin N.Deshmukh Ahmed Abdullah Alqarni Nizar Alsharif Theyazn H.H.Aldhyani Fawaz Waselallah Alsaade Osamah I.Khalaf | 2022 | Computers, Materials & Continua2022，，2： | 2 |

| 8 | Strongyloides hyper-infection causing life-threatening gastrointestinal bleeding显示文摘A 55-year old male patient was diagnosed with strongy- loides hyper-infection with stool analysis and intestinal biopsy shortly after his chemotherapy for myeloma. He was commenced on albendazole anthelmintic therapy. After initiation of the treatment he suffered life- threatening gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding. Repeated endoscopies showed diffuse multi-focal intestinal bleeding. The patient required huge amounts of red blood cells and plasma transfusions and correction of haemostasis with recombinant activated factor Ⅶ. Abdominal aorto-angiography showed numerous micro- aneurysms (‘berry aneurysms’) in the superior and inferior mesenteric arteries’ territories. While the biopsy taken prior to the treatment with albendazole did not show evidence of vasculitis, the biopsy taken after initiation of therapy revealed leukoclastic aggregations around the vessels. These findings suggest that, in addition to direct destruction of the mucosa, vasculitis could be an important additive factor causing the massive GI bleeding during the anthelmintic treatment. This might result from substances released by the worms that have been killed with anthelmintic therapy. Current guidelines advise steroids to be tapered and stopped in case of systematic parasitic infections as they might reduce immunity and precipitate parasitic hyper-infection. In our opinion, steroid therapy might be of value in the management of strongyloides hyper- infection related vasculitis, in addition to the anthelmintic treatment.
