1Visual quality assessment after presbyopic laser in-situ keratomileusis显示文摘AIM: To assess visual quality after presbyopia correction using an aspheric ablation profile and a micro-monovision protocol.METHODS: This is a retrospective interventional study. Fifty-four eyes of 27 patients(mean age, 50.2±7.5 y) who underwent presbyopia correction with an aspheric micro-monovision protocol were enrolled. The values of modulation transfer function(MTF) cutoff frequency, Strehl ratio, objective scattering index(OSI) and accommodation range were quantitatively assessed using the HD analyzer. Preoperative and postoperative contrast sensitivity(CS) at far(2.5 m) and near(40 cm) distance and higher-order aberrations(HOAs) were analyzed. Subjective visual satisfaction was evaluated by self-reported questionnaire regarding optical visual symptoms.RESULTS: One year after presbyopia correction, no significant differences were found in the MTF cutoff frequency, Strehl ratio and OSI, however, the HD analyzer accommodation range significantly differed postoperatively(P=0.004). Postoperative CS at 12 and 18 cpd at near showed statistically significant improvement(P=0.020 and 0.008, respectively). Visual performance by self-reported questionnaire revealed satisfactory results in terms of subjective visual quality improvement.CONCLUSION: Objective optical quality parameters show good visual outcomes. 3Protocol for a randomized controlled trial of electroacupuncture in the management of patients with axial spondyloarthritis in Singapore(E-AcuSpA)显示文摘Background:Despite therapeutic advances,treatment of patients with axial spondyloarthritis(axSpA)continue to pose as a challenge as many do not respond well to conventional Western medications,such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs)and biologic diseasemodifying antirheumatic drugs(bDMARDs).Hence,acupuncture is a possible alternative.Some studies found electroacupuncture to be better than manual acupuncture,though no trials have been conducted in patients with axSpA.This clinical trial aims to evaluate the clinical efficacy,safety,and cost-effectiveness of electroacupuncture compared to manual acupuncture for patients with axSpA.Methods/Design:This randomized controlled trial will recruit 100 patients diagnosed with axSpA,who have active disease despite NSAIDs and bDMARDs.Eligible patients will be randomized to receive either electroacupuncture or manual acupuncture in a 1:1 ratio.All participants will receive standard rheumatologic care in addition to 20 acupuncture sessions.The mean difference in Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index score between the 2 groups over 12 weeks will serve as the primary outcome.Secondary outcomes include improvements in other clinical,quality of life,and economic outcomes over 24 weeks.All adverse events will be recorded.Discussion:Results from this trial may provide evidence regarding the clinical effectiveness,safety,and cost-effectiveness of electroacupuncture compared to manual acupuncture for patients with axSpA,and guide implementation into clinical practice.Limitations of this trial include the lack of patient blinding,use of a repeated measures design,and possible variation in acupuncture technique amongst the various Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners.Warren Fong Yu Heng Kwan Su-An Quek Ader Lim Chiah Yuen Wong Shin Yoong Chua Hui Chin Tan Clara Eng Choy Tip Tan Bao Qiang Dong Youyi Huang Chuen Seng Tan Bee Choo Tai Ting Hui Woon Jie Kie Phang Hwee Ling Koh Ying Ying Leung Julian Thumboo TrulsØstbye 2021Rheumatology & Autoimmunity2021,1,2:0
4Tuning Lithiophilicity and Stability of 3D Conductive Scaffold via Covalent Ag-S Bond for High-Performance Lithium Metal Anode显示文摘Li metal anode holds great promise to realize high-energy battery systems.However,the safety issue and limited lifetime caused by the uncontrollable growth of Li dendrites hinder its commercial application.Herein,an interlayer-bridged 3D lithiophilic rGO-Ag-S-CNT composite is proposed to guide uniform and stable Li plating/stripping.The 3D lithiophilic rGO-Ag-S-CNT host is fabricated by incorporating Ag-modified reduced graphene oxide(rGO)with S-doped carbon nanotube(CNT),where the rGO and CNT are closely connected via robust Ag-S covalent bond.This strong Ag-S bond could enhance the structural stability and electrical connection between rGO and CNT,significantly improving the electrochemical kinetics and uniformity of current distribution.Moreover,density functional theory calculation indicates that the introduction of Ag-S bond could further boost the binding energy between Ag and Li,which promotes homogeneous Li nucleation and growth.Consequently,the rGO-Ag-S-CNT-based anode achieves a lower overpotential(7.3 mV at 0.5 mA cm^(−2)),higher Coulombic efficiency(98.1%at 0.5 mA cm^(−2)),and superior long cycling performance(over 500 cycles at 2 mA cm−2)as compared with the rGO-Ag-CNT-and rGO-CNT-based anodes.This work provides a universal avenue and guidance to build a robust Li metal host via constructing a strong covalent bond,effectively suppressing the Li dendrites growth to prompt the development of Li metal battery.Xue Liang Li Shaozhuan Huang Dong Yan Jian Zhang Daliang Fang Yew Von Lim Ye Wang Tian Chen Li Yifan Li Lu Guo Hui Ying Yang 2023Energy & Environmental Materials2023,6,1:0
