| 1 | Measurement of choroidal thickness and macular thickness during and after pregnancy显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effect of pregnancy on subfoveal choroidal thickness(SFCT) and macular thickness in both pregnant and not pregnant healthy women.METHODS: Twenty-nine healthy pregnant women in their third trimester and 36 age-matched healthy women were enrolled in a prospective, cross-sectional study.Foveal and parafoveal thickness in the four quadrants and SFCT were measured by optical coherence tomography(OCT) in the healthy pregnant women(i.e.study group) and healthy women(i.e. control group).OCT measurements were again measured 3mo after delivery in the study group.RESULTS: Mean SFCT measurements in the control group, pregnant women of the study group, and after delivery of the study group were 320.86 ±59.18 μm,387.97 ±59.91 μm, and 332.40 ±26.03 μm, respectively.There was a statistically significant difference in the mean SFCT values between pregnant women of the study group and the control group(P =0.000). Foveal and parafoveal thickness values were not statistically significant in either the study or control group.CONCLUSION: SFCT increases during pregnancy and returns to normal range in the three months after delivery. | 2 | Effects of growth temperature on μc-Si:H films prepared by plasma assistant magnetron sputtering显示文摘Hydrogenated microcrystalline silicon thin films (μc-Si:H) were deposited by plasma assistant magnetron sputtering in Ar-H 2 gas mixture. The effects of growth temperature from 150 to 450 C on properties of deposited Si films were investigated at two different hydrogen diluted gases with [H 2 ]/([Ar]+[H 2 ]) of 10% and 50% at 3 Pa. The crystallinity of Si films examined by Raman scattering exhibited higher degrada- tion by lowering growth temperature from 250 to 150 C in low hydrogen diluted gas of 10% than that in high hydrogen diluted gas of 50%. The IR absorption band around 845 and 890 cm 1 as well as calculated concentration of bonded hydrogen showed more obvious decrease of samples deposited in low hydrogen diluted gas of 10% than that in high hydrogen diluted gas of 50%. | 3 | Revealing Genetic Relationship and Prospecting of Novel Donors Among Upland Rice Genotypes Using qDTY-Linked SSR Markers显示文摘A total of 17 simple sequence repeat(SSR) markers linked to QTLs(qDTYs) governing grain yield under reproductive stage(RS) drought stress were used to assess the genetic relationship and prospecting new donors for q DTYs among 32 popular upland rice genotypes. These SSR markers generated a total of 36 alleles with an average allele count of 2.1 per locus. Polymorphic information content value of the markers ranged from 0.376 to 0.662 with an average value of 0.484. The expected heterozyogosity ranged from 0.381 to 0.632. STRUCTURE analysis divided the 32 genotypes into three sub-populations. Subsequent phenotyping revealed that all the tolerant genotypes were grouped into one sub-population, whereas the moderately tolerant and susceptible genotypes were grouped into separate sub-populations. Phylogenetic tree constructed by the unweighted neighbour-joining method also divided the genotypes into three clusters. The grouping pattern of genotypes into the clusters was similar to that into the STRUCTURE analysis, on the basis of drought tolerance level. The average value of genetic dissimilarity coefficient among the genotypes was observed to be 0.486. | 6 | EP4 agonist alleviates indomethacin-induced gastric lesions and promotes chronic gastric ulcer healing显示文摘AIM: To investigate EP4-selective agonist effect on indomethacin-induced gastric lesions and on the spontaneous healing of chronic gastric ulcers.METHODS: In a mouse model of gastric bleeding with high dose of indomethacin (20 mg/kg), an EP4-selective agonist was administered orally. Stomach lesions and gastric mucous regeneration were monitored. In a mouse model of chronic gastric ulcer induced by acetic acid, EP4 agonist effect on the healing of chronic gastric ulcer was evaluated in the presence or absence of low dose indomethacin (3 mg/kg). In cultured human gastric mucous cells, EP4 agonist effect on indomethacin-induced apoptosis was assessed by ? ow cytometry.RESULTS: The EP4-selective agonist reduced high dose indomethacin-induced acute hemorrhagic damage and promoted mucous epithelial regeneration. Low-dose indomethacin aggravated ulcer bleeding and inflammation, and delayed the healing of the established chronic gastric ulcer. The EP4 agonist, when applied locally, not only offset indomethacin-induced gastric bleeding and inflammation, but also accelerated ulcer healing. In the absence of indomethacin, the EP4 agonist even accelerated chronic gastric ulcer healing and suppressed inflammatory cell infiltration in the granulation tissue. In vitro, the EP4 agonist protected human gastric mucous cells from indomethacininduced apoptosis.CONCLUSION: EP4-selective agonist may prevent indomethacin-induced gastric lesions and promote healing of existing and indomethacin-aggravated gastric ulcers, via promoting proliferation and survival of mucous epithelial cells. | Wha Bin Im Yariv Donde Larry A Wheeler | 2009 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2009，15，41： | 1 |
