1Identification and fine mapping of quantitative trait loci for the number of vascular bundle in maize stem显示文摘Studies that investigated the genetic basis of source and sink related traits have been widely conducted.However, the vascular system that links source and sink received much less attention. When maize was domesticated from its wild ancestor, teosinte, the external morphology has changed dramatically; however, less is known for the internal anatomy changes. In this study, using a large maize-teosinte experimental population, we performed a high-resolution quantitative trait locus(QTL) mapping for the number of vascular bundle in the uppermost internode of maize stem.The results showed that vascular bundle number is dominated by a large number of small-effect QTLs, in which a total of 16 QTLs that jointly accounts for 52.2% of phenotypic variation were detected, with no single QTL explaining more than 6% of variation. Different from QTLs for typical domestication traits, QTLs for vascular bundle number might not be under directional selection following domestication.Using Near Isogenic Lines(NILs) developed from heterogeneous inbred family(HIF), we further validated the effect of one QTL qVb9-2 on chromosome 9 and fine mapped the QTL to a 1.8-Mb physical region. 3Aggregate modeling and analysis of air conditioning load using coupled Fokker–Planck equations显示文摘Demand response has gained significant attention recently with the increasing penetration of renewable energy sources in power systems. Air conditioning loads are typical thermostatically controlled loads which can play an active role in ancillary services by regulating their aggregated power consumption. The aggregation of air conditioners is essential to the control of air conditioning loads. In this paper, linear state equations are proposed to aggregate air conditioning loads by solving coupled Fokker–Planck equations(CFPEs) using the finite difference method. By analyzing the numerical stability and convergence of the difference scheme, the grid spacings, including temperature step and time step, are properly determined according to the maximal principle. Stationary solutions of the CFPEs are obtained by analytical and numerical methods. Furthermore, a classification method using dimension reduction is proposed to deal with the problem of heterogeneous parameters and interval estimation is applied to describe the stochastic behavior of air conditioning loads. 5Role of thioredoxin-interacting protein in mediating endothelial dysfunction in hypertension显示文摘Excessive oxidative stress is a major causative factor of endothelial dysfunction in hypertension.As an endogenous pro-oxidant,thioredoxin-interacting protein(TXNIP)contributes to oxidative damage in various tissues.The present study aimed to investigate the role of TXNIP in mediating endothelial dysfunction in hypertension.In vivo,an experimental model of acquired hypertension was established with two-kidney,one-clip(2K1C)surgery.The expression of TXNIP in the vascular endothelial cells of multiple vessels was significantly increased in hypertensive rats compared with sham-operated rats.Resveratrol,a TXNIP inhibitor,suppressed vascular oxidative damage and increased the expression and activity of eNOS in the aorta of hypertensive rats.Notably,impaired endothelium-dependent vasodilation was effectively improved by TXNIP inhibition in hypertensive rats.In vitro,we observed that Ang II increased the expression of TXNIP in primary human aortic endothelial cells(HAECs)and that TXNIP knockdown by RNA interference alleviated cellular oxidative stress damage and mitigated the impaired eNOS activation and intracellular nitric oxide(NO)production observed in Ang Il-treated HAECs.However,inhibiting thioredoxin(TRX)with PX-12 completely blunted the protective effect of silencing TXNIP.In addition,TXNIP knockdown facilitated TRX expression and promoted TRX nuclear translocation to further activate AP1 and REF1.TRX overexpressi on exhibited favorable effects on eNOS/NO homeostasis in Ang 11-treated HAECs.Thus,TXNIP contributes to oxidative stress and endothelial dysfunction in hypertension,and these effects are dependent on the antioxidant capacity of TRX,suggesting that targeting TXNIP may be a novel strategy for antihypertensive therapy.Ruiyu Wang Yongzheng Guo Lingjiao Li Minghao Luo Linqian Peng Dingyi Lv Zhe Cheng Qian Xue Liang Wang Jing Huang 2022Genes & Diseases2022,9,3:1
6Prediction of Newhall navel orange internal quality based on digital microscopy显示文摘The traditional technology for internal quality detection of citrus fruit is believed to be destructive,inefficient,and error-prone.To address these issues,a novel method has been developed to evaluate nondestructively the sugar-acid ratio(SAR)of soluble solids by using the oil glands density(OGD).In this study,a total of 584 samples with different widths were collected.The sample data were correlated that the SAR and OGD decreased with time during storage.The relevance with time was significant between SAR and OGD of citrus positively correlated in the calibration group(R2=0.82),which indicated that OGD could be used to predict the internal quality of citrus.It indicated that a new generation of digital microscopy could provide an alternative to predict nondestructively the internal quality of citrus fruit,as well as some theoretical insight for further studies of online quality detection in the future.Shumin Gao Cong Cao Dingyi Hu Rangwei Xu Yunjiang Cheng Hong Chen Ming Zhu Shanjun Li 2021International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2021,14,6:0
