| 3 | A de novo Genome of a Chinese Radish Cultivar显示文摘Here, we report a high-quality draft genome of a Chinese radish(Raphanus sativus) cultivar. This draft contains 387.73 Mb of assembled scaffolds, 83.93% of the scaffolds were anchored onto nine pseudochromosomes and 95.09% of 43 240 protein-coding genes were functionally annotated. 184.75 Mb(47.65%) of repeat sequences was identified in the assembled genome. By comparative analyses of the radish genome against 10 other plant genomes, 2 275 genes in 780 gene families were found unique to R. sativus. | 4 | Application of chemical fractionation and X-ray powder diffraction to study phosphorus speciation in sediments from Lake Hongfeng,China显示文摘Based on the techniques of sequential extraction and X-ray powder diffraction(XRD) ,the distribution characteristics of phosphorus speciation were investigated in 13 sediment samples from Lake Hongfeng,an important drinking water source for Guiyang with a typical karstic limestone environment.The total phosphorus(TP) concentrations in the sediments ranged from 973.36 to 2334.18 mg/kg with a mean concentration of 1635.87 mg/kg(dry weight) ,and it was evident that the phosphorus level in the sediments was high compared with other eutrophic lakes such as Lake Chaohu and Lake Xihu.The results of the two methods,sequential extraction and XRD,demonstrated the presence of different phosphorus species in the lake sediments.Being compatible with local geophysical characteristics,the results of sequential extraction techniques indicate that the average percentages of dissolved phosphorus(DP) ,aluminum-bound phosphorus(Al-P) ,iron-bound phosphorus(Fe-P) ,calcium-bound phosphorus(Ca-P) and organic phosphorus(OP) in the sediments were 0.40%,7.06%,5.07%,45.48%and 38.49%,respectively.Notably,the concentrations of inorganic phosphorus(IP) were higher than those of OP,and the IP consisted primarily of Ca-P.The high concentrations of Ca-P may temporarily control the release of phosphorus from the sediments because it is a relatively stable,inert and non-bioavailable phosphorus fraction.The results of XRD analysis indicated that,among phosphorus species,AlPO4 was found in all sediment samples at relatively high concentrations.Moreover,the TP concentrations in the sediments were high;thus the release potential and bioavailability of phosphorus in the sediments was important.Further statistical analyses of the results revealed significant correlations between phosphorus species in the sediments with two extractable principal components and four selectable cluster levels allowing interpretation of possible origins of phosphorus loading and transformation mechanisms of phosphorus species.Furthermore,available remediation measures were briefly assessed for the lake while considering its distinct environmental features. | JIANG CuiHong WU Di HU JiWei LIU Feng HUANG XianFei LI CunXiong JIN Mei | 2011 | Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,20: | 9 |

| 6 | Hybrid Weighted l_1-Total Variation Constrained Reconstruction for MR Image显示文摘Compressed sensing based Magnetic resonance(MR) image reconstruction can be done by minimizing the sum of least square data fitting item, the Total variation(TV) and l1 norm regularizations. In this paper, inspired by the conventional constrained reconstruction model, we propose a hybrid weighted l1-TV minimization method to reconstruct MR image. We introduce the iterative mechanism to update the weights for l1 and TV norms adaptively. The weights vary at each element of the image matrix according to the presented weights selection strategy. | 7 | Clarifying the influence of albumin on the initial stages of magnesium corrosion in Hank's balanced salt solution显示文摘The corrosion behavior of Mg,a promising biodegradable metallic material,in protein-containing pseudophysiological environment is still not fully understood.In this work,the influence of albumin on the corrosion behavior of commercially pure magnesium(CP Mg)is investigated during short-term tests in Hank’s Balanced Salt Solution(HBSS).This work focuses on the reactions at the Mg/medium interface from the perspective of the interactions among albumin,media components and substrate.Hydrogen evolution tests demonstrate that the physiological amount of albumin(40 g L^(-1))accelerates Mg corrosion in HBSS during the first few hours but slows down the degradation afterwards.The presence of albumin decreases the concentration of free Ca^(2+)in HBSS and delays formation of protective co-precipitation products on Mg surface.The evolution of local pH(differs from typically monitored bulk pH)near Mg/medium interface in albumincontaining HBSS is reported for the first time.Comparison of local and bulk pH values elucidates the pH buffering effect of albumin during the immersion period.Based on these results,adsorption,chelating and pH buffering effects are summarized as three important aspects of albumin influence on Mg corrosion.Additionally,constant replenishment of medium components is shown to be an influential factor during the Mg corrosion tests. | Di Mei Cheng Wang Sviatlana V.Lamaka Mikhail L.Zheludkevich | 2021 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2021,9,3: | 4 |

| 18 | Changes in foliar carbon isotope composition and seasonal stomatal conductance reveal adaptive traits in Mediterranean coppices affected by drought显示文摘We estimated water-use efficiency and potential photosynthetic assimilation of Holm oak(Quercus ilex L.) on slopes of NW and SW aspects in a replicated field test examining the effects of intensifying drought in two Mediterranean coppice forests. We used standard techniques for quantifying gas exchange and carbon isotopes in leaves and analyzed total chlorophyll, carotenoids and nitrogen in leaves collected from Mediterranean forests managed under the coppice system. We postulated that responses to drought of coppiced trees would lead to differential responses in physiological traits and that these traits could be used by foresters to adapt to predicted warming and drying in the Mediterranean area. We observed physiological responses of the coppiced trees that suggested acclimation in photosynthetic potential and water-use efficiency:(1) a significant reduction in stomatal conductance(p<0.01) wasrecorded as the drought increased at the SW site;(2) foliar δ13C increased as drought increased at the SW site(p<0.01);(3) variations in levels of carotenoids and foliar nitrogen, and differences in foliar morphology were recorded, and were tentatively attributed to variation in photosynthetic assimilation between sites.
