1Effects of herbivore-induced rice volatiles on the host selection behavior of brown planthopper,Nilaparvata lugens显示文摘It has been suggested that herbivore would react to volatiles produced by herbivore infested plant due to potential change, either positive or negative, in the acceptability of the host plant. This hypothesis was tested for the brown planthopper (BPH) in the laboratory. Sixteen components of the headspace volatiles from rice seedlings with different treatments were collected with SPME and Tenax-TA trap and analyzed with GC and GC-MS. Significant differences in volatile emissions were observed for rice plants with different treatments. Undamaged control plants, mechanically damaged plants and the plants infested by BPH for 1 or 2 d emitted much lower amounts of volatiles compared to the plants infested by BPH for 3 or 5 d. The plants infested by BPH for 3 or 5 d emitted several volatiles that were not detected in undamaged control plants, mechanically damaged plants or the plants infested by BPH for 1 or 2 d. 2Feed conversion ratio,residual feed intake and cholecystokinin type A receptor gene polymorphisms are associated with feed intake and average daily gain in a Chinese local chicken population显示文摘Background: The feed conversion ratio(FCR) and residual feed intake(RFI) are common indexes in measuring feed efficiency for livestock. RFI is a feed intake adjusted for requirements for maintenance and production so these two traits are related. Similarly, FCR is related to feed intake and weight gain because it is their ratio. Cholecystokinin type A receptor(CCKAR) plays an important role in animal digestive process. We examined the interplay of these three parameters in a local Chinese chicken population.Results: The feed intake(FI) and body weights(BW) of 1,841 individuals were monitored on a daily basis from 56 to 105 d of age. There was a strong correlation between RFI and average daily feed intake(ADFI) and a negative correlation between the FCR and daily gain(r_g=-0.710). Furthermore, we identified 51 single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) in the CCKAR and 4 of these resulted in amino acid mutations. The C334A mutation was specifically associated with FI and the expected feed intake(EFI)(P < 0.01) and significantly associated with the average daily gain(ADG)(P < 0.05). G1290A was significantly associated with FI and EFI(P < 0.05).Conclusion: FCR is apply to weight selecting, and RFI is more appropriate if the breeding focus is feed intake. 3Involvement of Jasmonate- signaling pathway in the herbivore-induced rice plant defense显示文摘The expression patterns of eight defense- related genes in the herbivore-infested and jasmonate- treated (jasmonic acid, JA and its derivative MeJA) rice leaves were analyzed using RT-PCR. The results showed that Spodoptera litura Fabricius (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) herbi-vory induced the expression of lipoxygenase (LOX) and al-lene oxide synthase (AOS) genes that are involved in the jasmonate-signaling pathway. Moreover, S. litura damage resulted in the expression of farnesyl pyrophosphate syn-thase (FPS), Bowman-birk proteinase inhibitor (BBPI), phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL) and other rice defense- related genes that were also induced by aqueous JA treat-ment or gaseous MeJA treatment. These indicated that in rice leaves, the JA-related signaling pathway was involved in the S. litura-induced chemical defense. Mechanical damage and brown planthopper (BPH), Nilaparvata lugens (St錶) (Homoptera: Delphacidae) damage induced the expression of LOX gene, but both treatments did not induce the expression of AOS gene. However, BPH damage induced the expression of acidic pathogen-related protein 1 (PR-1a), Chitinase (PR-3), and PAL genes, which is involved in the salicylate- signaling pathway. 6Debonding Patch Detection in FRP-Strengthened Materials with Fiber-Optic Interferometer显示文摘The interfacial debonding in fiber-reinforced plastic(FRP)strengthened repair material will affect the bonding strength and lead to failure of the repair without warning.Unfortunately the interfacial damage is normally invisible and often in the form of a patch rather than a through-width crack.Therefore,a debonding patch detection technique based on fiber optic interferometry is proposed.A quasi-impulse loading is applied with a rubberhead hammer and the total elongation of a surface-mounted optical fiber along the length of the repair material is measured as a function of load position.When a debonding patch is present,the induced sudden slope or sign change on the plot of fiber integral strain v.s.load position will reveal the extent and the location of the debonded area.The results of the study indicate that the proposed technique is applicable for debonding patch detection in repaired members under various support conditions.Xu Ying Wang Dexiang Tang Tianyou Lu Miaomiao 2017Transactions of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics2017,34,3:1

12Favorable prognostic role of IL-26 in HCC patients associated with JAK-STAT3-dependent autophagy显示文摘Interleukin-26(IL-26),originally called AK155,is one of the cytokines of the IL-10 cytokine family,and its gene is located in human chromosome region 12q15.IL-26 signals through the receptors IL-20R1 and IL-10R2,which form a heterodimer,targets specific cells and induces activation of the JAK-STAT pathway,allowing the rapid phosphorylation of STAT1 and STAT3 and the initiation of their effects.1 This signaling plays an important role in the regulation of host defense and inflammatory diseases.However,whether the role of IL-26 in the progression of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)occurs via autophagy remains unclear.Here,we analyzed the association between IL-26 levels and the clinicopathological characteristics of 115 patients with HCC and found that IL-26 levels were particularly associated with tumor stage and survival.We found that IL-26 levels were associated with the prognosis of HCC patients.Furthermore,we found that increased autophagy by IL-26 was dependent on the JAK-STAT3 signaling pathway,which could result in the inhibition of the migration and invasion abilities of these HCC cells.These findings suggest that the levels of IL-26 may be a useful prognostic marker for HCC patients and may offer insights into the clinical application of IL-26 in the future.Qihong Zhao Chen Wang Kexin Wang Yue He Anla Hu Min Tang Wanshui Yang Jiyu Cao Dexiang Xu Hua Wang 2022Genes & Diseases2022,9,1:0
13Microbiome-metabolome analysis reveals cervical lesion alterations显示文摘Cervical cancer(CC)continues to be one of the most common cancers among females worldwide.It takes a few years or even decades for CC to arise in a minority of women with cervical precancers.An increasing corpus of studies today indicates that local microecology and carcinogenesis are intimately related.To investigate the changes in cericovaginal microecology with the development of cervical cancer,we performed 16S rDNA sequencing and metabolomic analysis in cericovaginal fluid from 10 LSIL patients,10 HSIL patients,10 CC patients and 10 healthy controls to reveal the differential flora and metabolites during cervical carcinogenesis.Carcinogenesis is associated with alterations in microbiome diversity,individual taxa,and functions with notable changes in Lactobacillus,Prevotella and Aquabacterium,as well as in cervicovaginal metabolites that correlate with cervicovaginal microbial patterns.Increased bacterial diversity and a decline in the relative abundance of Lactobacillus,the dominant species in the cericovaginal flora,are observed when cervical lesions advance.According to KEGG pathway enrichment analysis,lipids and organic acids change as cervical cancer progresses,and the phenylalanine,tyrosine,and tryptophan biosynthesis pathway is essential for the development of cervical cancer.Our results reveal that microbic and metabolomic profiling is capable of distinguishing CC from precancer and highlights potential biomarkers for the early detection of cervical dysplasia.These differential microorganisms and metabolites are expected to become a potential tool to assist in the diagnosis of cervical cancer.Hanjie Xu Lou Liu Feng Xu Min Liu Yuexiao Song Jiale Chen Huiying Zhan Ye Zhang Dexiang Xu Yu Chen Mudan Lu Daozhen Chen 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,10:0
14Liver dysfunction on admission worsens clinical manifestations and outcomes of coronavirus disease 2019显示文摘Background:Liver dysfunction was common in coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),but its association with clinical features and poor prognosis has not been fully delineated.Our study aimed to determine the role of liver dysfunction in COVID-19 and understand the predictors for worse outcomes in patients with liver injury.Methods:We conducted this multicenter,retrospective study in five designated hospitals for COVID-19 manage-ment.Laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 patients were enrolled and classified into the normal live function group and liver dysfunction group according to liver enzymes,bilirubin,and albumin on admission,respectively.Data of baseline,clinical manifestations,and outcomes were collected and compared in the paired groups.Results:Of the 649 included COVID-19 patients,200(30.8%),69(10.6%),and 267(41.1%)patients had elevated liver enzymes,increased bilirubin,and low-level albumin,respectively.Fever,cough,and dyspnea were the most common symptoms and showed an increased proportion in the liver dysfunction group.Compared with patients in the normal liver function group,patients with liver dysfunction manifested decreased lymphocytes,higher level of leukocytes,neutrophils,inflammatory indicators,and cytokines,as well as more severe impairment in kidney function and myocardium.They were more likely to show bilateral involvement and more pulmonary lobes involved according to chest images.With increased proportion of patients who developed severe/critical conditions and needed mechanical ventilation and systemic glucocorticoid therapy,patients with liver dysfunc-tion on admission showed significantly higher in-hospital mortality.Moreover,cardiac troponin I≥1.5 ng/mL was identified as an independent mortality predictor in the elevated liver enzymes group.Conclusion:Patients with liver dysfunction on admission had worse clinical manifestation,and resulted in higher rate of severe/critical type,receiving mechanical ventilation and in-hospital mortality.Fangying Lu Rong Chen Kandi Xu Jie Huang Dexiang Yang Tao Bai Yusang Xie Yun Ling Kui Liu Wei Du Jiayang Yan Huihuang Lin Jian Li Yun Feng Min Zhou Yi Guo 2023Chinese Medical Journal Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine2023,1,3:0
15Study on fluid inclusions of Qiangsheng gold deposit in Fushun of Liaoning显示文摘The Qiangsheng gold deposit belongs to quartz vein type. The fluid inclusions consist of four types:aqueous single-phase inclusions,aqueous two-phase inclusions,carbonated two-phase inclusions and carbonated three-phase inclusions. The fluid inclusions are characterized by low salinity( 5%-9% Na Cl eqv),low density( 0. 66--0. 72 g / cm^3) and medium temperature( 210℃--250℃). The pressure of ore-forming is 60--95 MPa and the metallogenic depth is about 5. 49--7. 56 km. During the mineralizing process,ore-forming fluid underwent fluid unmixing in CO_2-H_2O-Na Cl system. The stable isotope results indicate that the ore-forming fluids mainly generated from mantle,with the participation of a small amount of atmospheric water.
