| 2 | Highly selective catalytic reduction of NO_x by MnO_x–CeO_2–Al_2O_3 catalysts prepared by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis显示文摘We first present preparation of MnOx–CeO_2–Al_2O_3 catalysts with varying Mn contents through a self-propagating high-temperature synthesis(SHS) method, and studied the application of these catalysts to the selective catalytic reduction of NOxwith NH3(NH_3-SCR).Using the catalyst with 18 wt.% Mn(18 MnCe1Al2), 100% NO conversion was achieved at 200°C and a gas hourly space velocity of 15384 hr-1, and the high-efficiency SCR temperature window, where NO conversion is greater than 90%, was widened to a temperature range of 150–300°C. 18 MnCe1Al2 showed great resistance to SO_2(100 ppm)and H_2O(5%) at 200°C. The catalysts were characterized using X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller(BET) analysis, scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and H_2 temperature programmed reduction. The characterization results showed that the surface atomic concentration of Mn increased with increasing Mn content, which led to synergism between Mn and Ce and improved the activity in the SCR reaction. 18 MnCe1Al2 has an extensive pore structure,with a BET surface area of approximately 135.4 m^2/g, a pore volume of approximately 0.16 cm^3/g, and an average pore diameter of approximately 4.6 nm. The SCR reaction on 18 MnCe1Al2 mainly followed the Eley-Rideal mechanism. | 8 | Microbiologically influenced corrosion of titanium caused by aerobic marine bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa显示文摘Microbiologically influenced corrosion(MIC) is a big threat to the strength and safety of many metallic materials used in different environments throughout the world. The metabolites and bioactivity of the microorganisms cause severe deterioration on the metals. In this study, MIC of pure titanium(Ti) was studied in the presence of a highly corrosive aerobic marine bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The results obtained from electrochemical test showed that Ti was corrosion resistant in the abiotic culture medium after 14 d, while the increased corrosion current density(i_(corr)) obtained from polarization curves and the decreased charge transfer resistance(R_(ct)) from electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)indicated the accelerated corrosion of Ti caused by P. aeruginosa biofilm. For further confirmation of the above results, the surface of Ti was investigated using scanning electron microscopy(SEM), confocal laser scanning microscopy(CLSM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). According to the XPS results, TiO_2 was formed in both abiotic and biotic conditions, while unstable oxide Ti_2O_3 was detected in the presence of P. aeruginosa, leading to the defects in the passive film and localized corrosion. Pitting corrosion was investigated with the help of CLSM, and the largest pit depth found on Ti surface immersed in P. aeruginosa was 1.2 μm. | 10 | Structural Evolution During Mechanical Milling of Bimodal-Sized Al_2O_3 Particles Reinforced Aluminum Matrix Composite显示文摘Hybrid aluminum matrix composite powders reinforced with bimodal-sized Al_2O_3 particles were synthesized by mechanical milling. Two different approaches were investigated for the addition of submicron-and nano-sized Al_2O_3 particles to the aluminum powders. | 11 | Adverse Effects of Exposure to Fine Particulate Matters and Ozone on Gestational Hypertension显示文摘Gestational hypertension(GH)is a common complication during pregnancy.GH is regarded as a potential public health challenge for pregnant women and infants.Limited evidence has linked ambient air pollution to an increased GH risk.However,most of the studies were conducted in developed countries,with inconsistent results obtained.The present study was performed to explore whether exposure to particulate matters with an aerodynamic diameter≤2.5(PM2.5)and ozone(O3)was related to elevated odds of GH in a Chinese population.This population-based cohort study involved 38115 pregnant women in Wuhan,China.All information was collected from the Wuhan Maternal and Child Health Management Information System,using standardized quality control.The daily air pollutant data for PM2.5 and O3 were obtained from the 20 monitoring stations of the Wuhan Environmental Monitoring Center during 2014.The nearest monitor approach was applied to individual exposure assessment of PM2.5 and O3 for each participant.After adjusting for major confounders and other air pollutants,a 10μg/m^3 increase in PM25 and O3 concentrations was found to correlate to a 1.14-fold[95%confidence interval(95%CI):1.09,1.20]and a 1.05-fold(95%CI:1.02,1.07)increase in GH risk,respectively.Additionally,stronger relationships between GH risk and PM25 and O3 exposure were observed in women who conceived in winter and summer,respectively.These findings suggest that air pollutants may contribute to the development of GH. | Rong YANG Dan LUO Yi-ming ZHANG Ke HU Zheng-min QIAN Li-qin HU Long-jiao SHEN Hong XIAN Juliet Iwelunmor Su-rong MEI | 2019 | Current Medical Science2019,39,6: | 7 |
| 12 | Low-latency deep-reinforcement learning algorithm for ultrafast fiber lasers显示文摘The application of machine learning to the field of ultrafast photonics is becoming more and more extensive.In this paper,for the automatic mode-locked operation in a saturable absorber-based ultrafast fiber laser(UFL),a deep-reinforcement learning algorithm with low latency is proposed and implemented.The algorithm contains two actor neural networks providing strategies to modify the intracavity lasing polarization state and two critic neural networks evaluating the effect of the actor networks.With this algorithm,a stable fundamental modelocked(FML)state of the UFL is demonstrated.To guarantee its effectiveness and robustness,two experiments are put forward.As for effectiveness,one experiment verifies the performance of the trained network model by applying it to recover the mode-locked state with environmental vibrations,which mimics the condition that the UFL loses the mode-locked state quickly.As for robustness,the other experiment,at first,builds a database with UFL at different temperatures.It then trains the model and tests its performance.The results show that the average mode-locked recovery time of the trained network model is 1.948 s.As far as we know,it is 62.8%of the fastest average mode-locked recovery time in the existing work.At different temperatures,the trained network model can also recover the mode-locked state of the UFL in a short time.Remote algorithm training and automatic mode-locked control are proved in this work,laying the foundation for long-distance maintenance and centralized control of UFLs. | QIUQUAN YAN QINGHUI DENG JUN ZHANG YING ZHU KE YIN TENG LI DAN WU TIAN JIANG | 2021 | Photonics Research2021,9,8: | 7 |
| 13 | Formation and causes of NO_x pollution on the east side of the Taihang Mountains in China显示文摘Tropospheric column amounts of NO 2 from OMI/Aura products were applied to investigate the seasonal variation of NO x on the east side of the Taihang Mountains (ESTM) in China. The NO 2 concentration varied seasonally, with winter maxima and summer minima. To explore the causes of the heavy NO 2 pollution in this region, wind field simulations were conducted by using the Fifth-Generation NCAR/Penn State Mesoscale Model (MM5). MM5 simulations showed that wind directions in the ESTM region were dominated by northeasterly and northwesterly winds throughout the year and to a lesser degree by southwesterlies. Elevated NO 2 concentrations (higher than 50×10 15 molec/cm 2 ) occurred in three meteorological situations: convergent wind fields (5 days), northeasterly winds (2 days), and calm days (1 day) in January. Although the local anthropogenic NO x emission strength was not so high as that in other developed areas, the calms and frequent occurrence of convergent wind fields, as well as unfavorable terrains for diffusion, resulted in the accumulation of atmospheric pollutants and hence heavy NO x pollution. | 14 | Dark matter direct search sensitivity of the PandaX-4T experiment显示文摘The Panda X-4T experiment, a 4-ton scale dark matter direct detection experiment, is being planned at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. In this paper we present a simulation study of the expected background in this experiment. In a 2.8-ton fiducial mass and the signal region between 1-10 keV electron equivalent energy, the total electron recoil background is found to be 4.9 × 10^(-5) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). The nuclear recoil background in the same region is 2.8 × 10^(-7) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). | 17 | Tau-Induced Ca^(2+)/Calmodulin-Dependent Protein Kinase-IV Activation Aggravates Nuclear Tau Hyperphosphorylation显示文摘Hyperphosphorylated tau is the major protein component of neurofibrillary tangles in the brains of patients with Alzheimer's disease(AD). However, the mechanism underlying tau hyperphosphorylation is not fully understood. Here, we demonstrated that exogenously expressed wild-type human tau40 was detectable in the phosphorylated form at multiple AD-associated sites in cytoplasmic and nuclear fractions from HEK293 cells.Among these sites, tau phosphorylated at Thr205 and Ser214 was almost exclusively found in the nuclear fraction at the conditions used in the present study. With the intracellular tau accumulation, the Ca^(2+)concentration was significantly increased in both cytoplasmic and nuclear fractions. Further studies using site-specific mutagenesis and pharmacological treatment demonstrated that phosphorylation of tau at Thr205 increased nuclear Ca^(2+)concentration with a simultaneous increase in the phosphorylation of Ca^(2+)/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase IV(Ca MKIV) at Ser196. On the other hand, phosphorylation of tau at Ser214 did not significantly change the nuclear Ca^(2+)/Ca MKIV signaling. Finally, expressing calmodulin-binding protein-4 that disrupts formation ofthe Ca^(2+)/calmodulin complex abolished the okadaic acidinduced tau hyperphosphorylation in the nuclear fraction.We conclude that the intracellular accumulation of phosphorylated tau, as detected in the brains of AD patients, can trigger nuclear Ca^(2+)/Ca MKIV signaling, which in turn aggravates tau hyperphosphorylation. | 19 | Niacin alters the ruminal microbial composition of cattle under high-concentrate condition显示文摘To understand the effects of niacin on the ruminal microbial ecology of cattle under high-concentrate diet condition, Illumina MiSeq sequencing technology was used. Three cattle with rumen cannula were used in a 3 x 3 Latin-square design trial. Three diets were fed to these cattle during 3 periods for 3 days, respectively: high-forage diet(HF; forage-to-concentrate ratio = 80:20), high-concentrate diet(HC;forage-to-concentrate ratio=20:80), and HC supplemented with 800 mg/kg niacin(HCN). Ruminal pH was measured before feeding and every 2 h after initiating feeding. Ruminal fluid was sampled at the end of each period for microbial DNA extraction. Overall, our findings revealed that subacute ruminal acidosis(SARA) was induced and the a-diversity of ruminal bacterial community decreased in the cattle of HC group. Adding niacin in HC could relieve the symptoms of SARA in the cattle but the ruminal pH value and the Shannon index of ruminal bacterial community of HCN group were still lower than those of HF group. Whatever the diet was, the ruminal bacterial community of cattle was dominated by Bacteroidetes,Firmicutes and Proteobacteria. High-concentrate diet significantly increased the abundance of Prevotella,and decreased the abundance of Paraprevotella, Sporobacter, Ruminococcus and Treponema than HF.Compared with HC, HCN had a trend to decrease the percentage of Prevotella, and to increase the abundance of Succiniclasticum, Acetivibrio and Treponema. Increasing concentrate ratio could decrease ruminal pH value, and change the ruminal microbial composition.
