| 1 | Revealing Quasi-1D Volume Expansion in Na-/K-Ion Battery Anodes:A Case Study of Sb_(2)O_(3)Microbelts显示文摘Tailoring a rational structure to control the huge volume variation is practical in regulating alkali-ion battery performance on the basis of the anisotropic properties of crystallized anode materials. Here,a double-serrated orthorhombic antimony oxide(Sb_(2)O_(3))microbelt was prepared by a thermally induced recrystallization/sublimation process. In situ transmission electron microscopy(TEM),in situ X-ray powder diffraction(XRD),and ex situ scanning electron microscopy(SEM)measurements demonstrate that Sb_(2)O_(3)microbelts exhibit a quasi-one-dimensional expansion perpendicular to the belt(along the[100]direction)during sodiation. The unconstrained microbelt surface space can appropriately accommodate the oriented volume variation.Thus,Sb_(2)O_(3)microbelts exhibit enhanced cycling and rate performance in half-cell sodium-ion batteries samples.Via support of reduced graphene oxide(RGO),Sb_(2)O_(3)@RGOcomposites deliver good rate capability(312.3 mAh g−1 at 3 A g−1)for sodium-ion full-cell batteries and good cycling performance(473.9 mAh g−1 at 100 mA g−1 after 100 cycles)for half-cell potassium-ion batteries. In situ Raman measurements reveal that the conversion/alloying-type Sb_(2)O_(3)anode undergoes a fully reversible alloying reaction and partially reversible conversion mechanism, which explains its irreversible capacity during the first cycle. The delicate structural design and clarification of the alkali-ion storage mechanisms facilitate the development of Sb_(2)O_(3)anodes for energy storage applications. | Zheng Yi Daliang Fang Wanqun Zhang Jie Tian Shimou Chen Jianbo Liang Ning Lin Yitai Qian | 2021 | CCS Chemistry2021,3,5: | 1 |
| 2 | MXene-assisted polymer coating from aqueous monomer solution towards dendrite-free zinc anodes显示文摘Coating polymer on the surface is an effective way to realize functional modification of the materials for diverse applications, which has been proved to enhance the stability of metal anodes in batteries. However, given the limited operability of coating from polymer dispersions,it is imperative to develop simple aqueous-based strategies from monomers for versatile polymer coating.Herein,a Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx MXene-assisted approach is proposed to construct polymer coating on zinc metal surfaces directly from the aqueous solution of monomers in an ice bath.By combining a doctor-blading method with spontaneous polymerization of monomers on the substrates at room temperature,a uniform, adhesive, and versatile coating layer assisted by a small amount of MXene is produced in one step.Additionally,MXene nanosheets serve as nanofillers to further enhance the mechanical strength and ionic conductivity of the polymer coating.Benefiting from good film formation and improved interfacial contact, the coated zinc anode exhibits a long cycling lifespan of over 1900 h.The assembled full cells show excellent cycling stability with a high capacity retention of 85.0%at 16 A g^(-1)over 2600 cycles. This work provides a simple and efficient way to produce polymer coatings directly from monomers, which may give new insights into design multifunctional polymer coatings for various applications. | Ning Wang Zhitan Wu Yu Long Derong Chen Chuannan Geng Xiaochen Liu Daliang Han Jing Zhang Ying Tao Quan-Hong Yang | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,10: | 0 |
| 3 | Assessing mechanisms for microbial taxa and community dynamics using process models显示文摘Disentangling the assembly mechanisms controlling community composition, structure, distribution, functions, and dynamics is a central issue in ecology.Although various approaches have been proposed to examine community assembly mechanisms,quanti-tative characterization is challenging, particularly in microbial ecology. Here,we present a novel approach for quantitatively delineating community assembly mechanisms by combining the consumer–resource model with a neutral model in stochastic differential equations.Using time-series data from anaerobic bioreactors that target microbial 16S rRNA genes,we tested the applicability of three ecological models:the consumer–resource model, the neutral model, and the combined model. Our results revealed that model performances varied substantially as a function of population abundance and/or process conditions. The combined model performed best for abundant taxa in the treatment bioreactors where process conditions were manipulated. In contrast, the neutral model showed the best performance for rare taxa. Our analysis further indicated that immigration rates decreased with taxa abundance and com-petitions between taxa were strongly correlated with phylogeny, but within a certain phylogenetic distance only. The determinism underlying taxa and community dynamics were quantitatively assessed, showing greater determinism in the treatment bioreactors that aligned with the subsequent abnormal system functioning.Given its mechanistic basis, the framework developed here is expected to be potentially applicable beyond microbial ecology. | Linwei Wu Yunfeng Yang Daliang Ning Qun Gao Huaqun Yin Naija Xiao Benjamin YZhou Si Chen Qiang He Jizhong Zhou | 2023 | mLife2023,2,3: | 0 |
| 4 | Resistance potential of soil bacterial communities along a biodiversity gradient in forest ecosystems显示文摘Higher biodiversity is often assumed to be a more desirable scenario for maintaining the functioning of ecosystems, but whether species-richer communities are also more disturbance-tolerant remains controversial. In this study,we investigated the bacterial communities based on 472 soil samples from 28 forests across China with associated edaphic and climatic properties. We developed two indexes(i.e.,community mean tolerance breadth[CMTB]and community mean response asynchrony[CMRA])to explore the relationship between diversity and community resistance potential. Moreover,we examined this resistance potential along the climatic and latitudinal gradients. We revealed that CMTB was significantly and negatively related to species richness, resulting from the changes in balance between relative abundances of putative specialists and generalists. In comparison,we found a unimodal relationship between CMRA and richness, suggesting that higher biodiversity might not always lead to higher community resistance. Moreover, our results showed differential local patterns along latitude. In particular, local patterns in the northern region mainly followed general relationships rather than those for the southern forests, which may be attributed to the differences in annual means and annual variations of climate conditions. Our findings highlight that the community resistance potential depends on the composition of diverse species with differential environmental tolerance and responses. This study provides a new, testable evaluation by considering tolerance breadth and response asynchrony at the community level, which will be helpful in assessing the influence of disturbance under rapid shifts in biodiversity and species composition as a result of global environmental change. | Jialiang Kuang Dongmei Deng Shun Han Colin T.Bates Daliang Ning Wensheng Shu Jizhong Zhou | 2022 | mLife2022,1,4: | 0 |
