| 1 | Magnetic properties and large magnetocaloric effects of GdPd intermetallic compound显示文摘With the intention to explore excellent magnetocaloric materials, the intermetallic compound GdPd was synthesized by arc melting and heat treatment. The microstructure, magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of the intermetallic compound of GdPd were investigated by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and the physical property measurement system(PPMS). A large reversible magnetocaloric effect is observed in GdPd accompanied by a second order magnetic phase transition from paramagnetism to ferromagnetism at ~39 K. The paramagnetic Curie temperature(θp) and the effective magnetic moment(μ_(eff))are determined to be 34.7 K and 8.12 μ_B/Gd,respectively. The maximum entropy change(|△S_M^(Max)|) and the relative cooling power(RCP) under a field change of 5 T are estimated to be 20.14 J/(kg·K) and 433 J/kg, respectively. | 2 | Construction of Boolean functions with maximum algebraic immunity and count of their annihilators at lowest degree显示文摘Boolean functions used in stream ciphers against algebraic attacks are required to have a necessary cryptographic property-high algebraic immunity (AI). In this paper, Boolean functions of even variables with the maximum AI are investigated. The number of independent annihilators at the lowest degree of Boolean functions of even variables with the maximum AI is determined. It is shown that when n is even, one can get an (n + 1)-variable Boolean function with the maximum AI from two n-variable Boolean functions with the maximum AI only if the Hamming weights of the two functions satisfy the given conditions. The nonlinearity of the Boolean functions obtained in this way is computed. Similarly, one can get an (n + 2)-variable Boolean function with the maximum AI from four n-variable Boolean functions with the maximum AI. | 3 | Identification and construction of Boolean functions with maximum algebraic immunity显示文摘Boolean functions with maximum algebraic immunity have been considered as one class of cryptographically significant functions. It is known that Boolean functions on odd variables have maximum algebraic immunity if and only if a correlative matrix has column full rank, and Boolean functions on even variables have maximum algebraic immunity if and only if two correlative matrices have column full rank. Recently, a smaller matrix was used in the odd case. We find that one or two smaller matrices can be used in the even case and consequently present several sufficient and necessary conditions for Boolean functions with maximum algebraic immunity. This result advances the ability to identify whether Boolean functions on even variables achieve maximum algebraic immunity. We also present a construction algorithm for n-variable Boolean functions with maximum algebraic immunity, specially with the Hamming weights of ∑2 n i=0 -1 . It is easily realized for not too large n and helps construct balanced Boolean functions with maximum algebraic immunity on even variables. | 4 | Identification of Cognitive Dysfunction in Patients with T2DM Using Whole Brain Functional Connectivity显示文摘Majority of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)patients are highly susceptible to several forms of cognitive impairments,particularly dementia.However,the underlying neural mechanism of these cognitive impairments remains unclear.We aimed to investigate the correlation between whole brain resting state functional connections(RSFCs)and the cognitive status in 95 patients with T2DM.We constructed an elastic net model to estimate the Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA)scores,which served as an index of the cognitive status of the patients,and to select the RSFCs for further prediction.Subsequently,we utilized a machine learning technique to evaluate the discriminative ability of the connectivity pattern associated with the selected RSFCs.The estimated and chronological MoCA scores were significantly correlated with R=0.81 and the mean absolute error(MAE)=1.20.Additionally,cognitive impairments of patients with T2DM can be identified using the RSFC pattern with classification accuracy of 90.54%and the area under the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve(AUC)of 0.9737.This connectivity pattern not only included the connections between regions within the default mode network(DMN),but also the functional connectivity between the task-positive networks and the DMN,as well as those within the task-positive networks.The results suggest that an RSFC pattern could be regarded as a potential biomarker to identify the cognitive status of patients with T2DM. | Zhenyu Liu Jiangang Liu Huijuan Yuan Taiyuan Liu Xingwei Cui Zhenchao Tang Yang Du Meiyun Wang Yusong Lin Jie Tian | 2019 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2019,17,4: | 4 |
| 5 | Phase-matching-induced near-chirp-free solitons in normal-dispersion fiber lasers显示文摘Direct generation of chirp-free solitons without external compression in normal-dispersion fiber lasers is a long-term challenge in ultrafast optics.We demonstrate near-chirp-free solitons with distinct spectral sidebands in normaldispersion hybrid-structure fiber lasers containing a few meters of polarization-maintaining fiber.The bandwidth and duration of the typical mode-locked pulse are 0.74 nm and 1.95 ps,respectively,giving the time-bandwidth product of 0.41 and confirming the near-chirp-free property.Numerical results and theoretical analyses fully reproduce and interpret the experimental observations,and show that the fiber birefringence,normal-dispersion,and nonlinear effect follow a phase-matching principle,enabling the formation of the near-chirp-free soliton.Specifically,the phasematching effect confines the spectrum broadened by self-phase modulation and the saturable absorption effect slims the pulse stretched by normal dispersion.Such pulse is termed as birefringence-managed soliton because its two orthogonal-polarized components propagate in an unsymmetrical“X”manner inside the polarization-maintaining fiber,partially compensating the group delay difference induced by the chromatic dispersion and resulting in the selfconsistent evolution.The property and formation mechanism of birefringence-managed soliton fundamentally differ from other types of pulses in mode-locked fiber lasers,which will open new research branches in laser physics,soliton mathematics,and their related applications. | Dong Mao Zhiwen He Yusong Zhang Yueqing Du Chao Zeng Ling Yun Zhichao Luo Tijian Li Zhipei Sun Jianlin Zhao | 2022 | Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,2: | 3 |

| 9 | Observation of table-like magnetocaloric effect and large refrigerant capacity in Nd_(6)Fe_(13)Pd_(1-x)Cu_(x) compounds显示文摘The table-like magnetocaloric effect is significant for the magnetic refrigeration applications above 20 K based on the Ericsson cycle.Herein,we prepared a series of Nd_(6)Fe_(13)Pd_(1-x)Cu_(x)(x=0.05,0.1,0.15)compounds by the arc-melting method.These compounds show the single crystalline phase in the tetragonal Nd_(6)Fe_(13)Si-type structure with the space group I4/mcm.A magnetic phase transition from ferromagnetism to antiferromagnetism and a metamagnetic transition from the antiferromagnetic state to the ferromagnetic state are observed in each of the compounds.The compounds exhibit table-like magnetocaloric effects with large refrigerant capacities.A constantΔSM in a temperature span of 40 K in the Nd_(6)Fe_(13)Pd_(0.85)Cu_(0.15) compound are observed.For a field change of 0–5 T,the peak values of–ΔS_(M) for the Nd_(6)Fe_(13)Pd_(0.95)Cu_(0.05),Nd_(6)Fe_(13)Pd_(0.90)Cu_(0.10),and Nd_(6)Fe_(13)Pd_(0.85)Cu_(0.15) compounds are estimated to be 4.8,4.6 and 4.4 J/(kg·K)with corresponding refrigerant capacity values of 323,331 and 316 J/kg,respectively.The obtained table-like magnetocaloric effects with large refrigerant capacities as well as fairly small thermal and magnetic hysteresis deem these series of compounds good candidates for single-phase magnetic refrigeration based on the Ericsson cycle. | Yusong Du Chaohua Zhang Youming Lu Junqin Li Gang Cheng Jiang Wang Guanghui Rao | 2022 | Journal of Rare Earths2022,40,4: | 1 |

| 12 | OsbZIP01 Affects Plant Growth and Development by Regulating OsSD1 in Rice显示文摘As the‘Green Revolution’gene,SD1(encoding GA20ox2),has been widely applied to improve yield in rice breeding.However,research on its transcriptional regulation is limited.Here,we identified a transcription factor OsbZIP01,which can suppress the expression of SD1 and regulate gibberellin(GA)biosynthesis in rice.Knockout mutants of OsbZIP01 exhibited increased plant height,while the overexpression lines showed a semi-dwarf phenotype and diminished germination rate.Furthermore,the semi-dwarf phenotype of OE-bZIP01,was caused by the reduced internode length,which was accompanied by a thin stem width.The predominant expression of OsbZIP01 was observed in leaves and sheaths.OsbZIP01 protein was localized in the nucleus and showed transcriptional repression activity.In addition,OsbZIP01 could directly bind to the promoter of the OsSD1 gene,and inhibit its transcription.The semi-dwarf phenotype of OE-bZIP01 could be rescued by exogenous GA_(3).Meanwhile,the bzip01 sd1 double mutant showed a shorter shoot length compared with the wild type,indicating that OsbZIP01 regulated plant growth mainly through the GA biosynthesis pathway.Collectively,OsbZIP01 negatively regulates GA biosynthesis by restraining SD1 transcription,thereby affecting plant growth and development. | DONG Xinli ZHOU Yang ZHANG Yaqi RONG Fuxi DU Jiahong HONG Zheyuan HU Peisong LÜYusong | 2024 | Rice science2024,31,1: | 0 |
