1LeCDJ1,a chloroplast DnaJ protein,facilitates heat tolerance in transgenic tomatoes显示文摘The roles of a tomato(Lycopersicon esculentum) chloroplast-targeted DnaJ protein(LeCDJ1) were investigated using wild-type(WT) and sense transgenic tomatoes. The LeCDJ1 expression was upregulated by 38 °C, 42 °C, 45 °C, NaCl, PEG, methyl viologen(MV) and hydrogen peroxide(H2 O2), but not by 30 °C and 35 °C. Meanwhile, LeCDJ1 was involved in the response of plants to abscisic acid(ABA). Under heat stress, the sense plants showed better growth, higher chlorophyll content, lower malondialdehyde(MDA) accumulation and relative electrical conductivity(REC), and also less PSII photoinhibition than WT. Interestingly, the sense plants treated with streptomycin(SM), an inhibitor of organellar translation, still showed higher maximum photochemistry efficiency of PSII(Fv/Fm) and D1 protein levels than the SM-untreated WT, suggesting that the protective effect of LeCDJ1 on PSII was, at least partially, independent of D1protein synthesis. Furthermore, the relatively lower superoxide radical(O2·-) and H2 O2 levels in the sense plants were considered to be due to the higher ascorbate peroxidase(APX) and superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity, which seemed unlikely dependent on their transcription level. 2Free radicals, apparent activation energy, and functional groups during low-temperature oxidation of Jurassic coal in Northern Shaanxi显示文摘Correlations among free radicals, apparent activation energy, and functional groups during lowtemperature oxidation of Jurassic coal in Northern Shaanxi were investigated by examining three coal samples collected from the Ningtiaota, Jianxin, and Shigetai coal mines. Free radical concentrations at less than 120 °C were investigated by electron spin resonance experiments while the thermogravimetric experiments were conducted to analyze apparent activation energies. In addition, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy was employed to study the spectrum of functional groups generated in coal. The results indicated that, in decreasing order, the apparent activation energies were Shigetai > Jianxin >Ningtiaota, indicating that, from 50 to 120 °C, the Ningtiaota coal sample most easily absorbed and reacted with oxygen while the most resistant was the Shigetai coal sample. Free radical concentrations and line heights increased with increased temperature, and the line width and Lande factor showed irregular fluctuations. Functional group variations were different among these coals, and the phenol and alcohol-associated OHs, carboxyls, and aromatic ring double bonds might have had a major impact on free radical concentrations. 10Hybrid CuO-Co_(3)O_(4)nanosphere/RGO sandwiched composites as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Hybrid CuO-Co_(3)O_(4)nanosphere building blocks have been embedded between the layered nanosheets of reduced graphene oxides with a three dimensional(3D)hybrid architecture(CuO-Co_(3)O_(4)-RGO),which are successfully applied as enhanced anodes for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).The CuO-Co_(3)O_(4)-RGO sandwiched nanostructures exhibit a reversible capacity of~847 mA·h·g^(-1)after 200 cycles’cycling at 100 mA·g^(-1)with a capacity retention of 79%.The CuO-Co_(3)O_(4)-RGO compounds show superior electrochemical properties than the comparative CuO-Co_(3)O_(4),Co_(3)O_(4)and CuO anodes,which may be ascribed to the following reasons:the hybridizing multicomponent can probably give the complementary advantages;the mutual benefit of uniformly distributing nanospheres across the layered RGO nanosheets can avoid the agglomeration of both the RGO nanosheets and the CuO-Co_(3)O_(4) nanospheres;the 3D storage structure as well as the graphene wrapped composite could enhance the electrical conductivity and reduce volume expansion effect associated with the discharge-charge process.Yingmeng Zhang Luting Liu Qingwei Deng Wanlin Wu Yongliang Li Xiangzhong Ren Peixin Zhang Lingna Sun 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,7:1
11Glymphatic system:a gateway for neuroinflammation显示文摘The glymphatic system is a relatively recently identified fluid exchange and transpo rt system in the brain.Accumulating evidence indicates thatglymphatic function is impaired not only in central nervous system disorders but also in systemic diseases.Systemic diseases can trigger the inflammatory responses in the central nervous system,occasionally leading to sustained inflammation and functional disturbance of the central nervous system.This review summarizes the current knowledge on the association between glymphatic dysfunction and central nervous system inflammation.In addition,we discuss the hypothesis that disease conditions initially associated with peripheral inflammation ove rwhelm the performance of the glymphatic system,thereby triggering central nervous system dysfun ction,chronic neuroinflammation,and neurodegeneration.Future research investigating the role of the glymphatic system in neuroinflammation may offer innovative therapeutic approaches for central nervous system disorders.Kailu Zou Qingwei Deng Hong Zhang Changsheng Huang 2024Neural Regeneration Research2024,19,12:0
12Molecular insights on Ca^(2+)/Na+separation via graphene-based nanopores:The role of electrostatic interactions to ionic dehydration显示文摘Ca^(2+)/Na+separation is a common problem in industrial applications,biological and medical fields.However,Ca^(2+)and Na+have similar ionic radii and hydration radii,thus Ca^(2+)/Na+separation is challenging.Inspired by biological channels,group modification is one of the effective methods to improve the separation performance.In this work,molecular dynamics simulations were performed to investigate the effects of different functional groups(COO,NH3+)on the separation performance of Ca^(2+)and Na+through graphene nanopores under an electric field.The pristine graphene nanopore was used for comparison.Results showed that three types of nanopores preferred Ca^(2+)to Na+,and Ca^(2+)/Na+selectivity followed the order of GE-COO(4.06)>GE(1.85)>GE-NH3+(1.63).Detailed analysis of ionic hydration microstructure shows that different nanopores result in different hydration factors for the second hydration layer of Ca^(2+)and the first layer of Na+.Such different hydration factors corresponding to the dehydration ability can effectively evaluate the separation performance.In addition,the breaking of hydrogen bonds between water molecules due to electrostatic effects can directly affect the dehydration ability.Therefore,the electrostatic effect generated by group modification will affect the ionic hydration microstructure,thus reflecting the differences in dehydration ability.This in turn affects the permeable and separation performance of cations.The results of this work provide perceptive guidelines for the application of graphene-based membranes in ion separation.Yumeng Zhang Yingying Zhang Xueling Pan Yao Qin Jiawei Deng Shanshan Wang Qingwei Gao Yudan Zhu Zhuhong Yang Xiaohua Lu 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,1:0
