1Atomic-Scale Layer-by-Layer Deposition of Fe SiAl@ZnO@Al_(2)O_(3) Hybrid with Threshold Anti-Corrosion and Ultra-High Microwave Absorption Properties in Low-Frequency Bands显示文摘Developing highly efficient magnetic microwave absorb-ers(MAs)is crucial,and yet challenging for anti-corrosion properties in extremely humid and salt-induced foggy environments.Herein,a dual-oxide shell of ZnO/Al_(2)O_(3) as a robust barrier to FeSiAl core is introduced to mitigate corrosion resistance.The FeSiAl@ZnO@Al_(2)O_(3) layer by layer hybrid structure is realized with atomic-scale precision through the atomic layer deposition technique.Owing to the unique hybrid structure,the FeSiAl@ZnO@Al_(2)O_(3) exhibits record-high micro-wave absorbing performance in low-frequency bands covering L and S bands with a minimum reflection loss(RLmin)of-50.6 dB at 3.4 GHz.Compared with pure FeSiAl(RLmin of-13.5 dB,a bandwidth of 0.5 GHz),the RLmin value and effective bandwidth of this designed novel absorber increased up to~3.7 and~3 times,respectively.Fur-thermore,the inert ceramic dual-shells have improved 9.0 times the anti-corrosion property of FeSiAl core by multistage barriers towards corrosive medium and obstruction of the electric circuit.This is attributed to the large charge transfer resistance,increased impedance modulus|Z|0.01 Hz,and frequency time constant of FeSiAl@ZnO@Al_(2)O_(3).The research demonstrates a promising platform toward the design of next-generation MAs with improved anti-corrosion properties.Wei Tian Jinyao Li Yifan Liu Rashad Ali Yang Guo Longjiang Deng Nasir Mahmood Xian Jian 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,10:6
2Ferromagnetic and ferroelectric two-dimensional materials for memory application显示文摘The discoveries of ferromagnetic and ferroelectric two-dimensional(2D)materials have dramatically inspired intense interests due to their potential in the field of spintronic and nonvolatile memories.This review focuses on the latest 2D ferromagnetic and ferroelectric materials that have been most recently studied,including insulating ferromagnetic,metallic ferromagnetic,antiferromagnetic and ferroelectric 2D materials.The fundamental properties that lead to the long-range magnetic orders of 2D materials are discussed.The low Curie temperature(Tc)and instability in 2D systems limits their use in practical applications,and several strategies to address this constraint are proposed,such as gating and composition stoichiometry.A van der Waals(vdW)heterostructure comprising 2D ferromagnetic and ferroelectric materials will open a door to exploring exotic physical phenomena and achieve multifunctional or nonvolatile devices.Zhen Liu Longjiang Deng Bo Peng 2021Nano Research2021,14,6:2
3Improving the mid-infrared energy absorption efficiency by using a dual-band metamaterial absorber显示文摘In this paper, a dual-band mid-infrared metamaterial absorber was proposed to improve the energy absorption efficiency. Up to 99% absorption was obtained at 9.03 and 11.83 μm in the simulation, and each absorption band can be tuned by the dielectric spacing layer, i.e., the dielectric constant and its thickness. The dual-band absorption mechanism was analyzed, and the quite well absorption performance at large incident angles was also presented. 4Elimination of a Retrotransposon for Quenching Genome Instability in Modern Rice显示文摘Transposable elements(TEs)constitute the most abundant portions of plant genomes and can dramatically shape host genomes during plant evolution.They also play important roles in crop domestication.However,whether TEs themselves are also selected during crop domestication has remained unknown.Here,we identify an active long terminal repeat(LTR)retrotransposon,HUO,as a potential target of selection during rice domestication and breeding.HUO is a low-copy-number LTR retrotransposon,and is active under natural growth conditions and transmitted through male gametogenesis,preferentially inserting into genomic regions capable of transcription.HUO exists in all wild rice accessions and about half of the archaeological rice grains(1200–7000 years ago)and landraces surveyed,but is absent in almost all modern varieties,indicating its gradual elimination during rice domestication and breeding.Further analyses showed that HUO is subjected to strict gene silencing through the RNA-directed DNA methylation pathway.Our results also suggest that multiple HUO copies may trigger genomic instability through altering genome-wide DNA methylation and small RNA biogenesis and changing global gene expression,resulting in decreased disease resistance and yield,coinciding with its elimination during rice breeding.Together,our study suggests that negative selection of an active retrotransposon might be important for genome stability during crop domestication and breeding.Yu Peng Yingying Zhang Yijie Gui Dong An Junzhong Liu Xun Xu Qun Li Junmin Wang Wen Wang Chunhai Shi Longjiang Fan Baorong Lu Yiwen Deng Sheng Teng Zuhua He 2019Molecular Plant2019,12,10:2
5Effect of Sedimentation on the Microwave Permeability of FeSiAl Composites显示文摘In order to achieve an easy fabrication and considerable directional orientation, we use a sedimentation method to prepare composites consisting of Fe Si Al flakes. The flakes are dispersed in hydroxylated acrylic resin solution in sonication and natural form into laminated composite samples. Then, the toroidal rings are made with the prepared laminated composite samples. Compared with random orientational Fe Si Al flakes in the composite, the complex permeability of laminated sample has been obviously improved when microwave frequency is below 4 GHz, especially for the imaginary part. A model is proposed to explain the formation reason of aligned Fe Si Al composite by this method. 9Photonic amorphous topological insulator显示文摘The current understanding of topological insulators and their classical wave analogs,such as photonic topological insulators,is mainly based on topological band theory.However,standard band theory does not apply to amorphous phases of matter,which are formed by non-crystalline lattices with no long-range positional order but only shortrange order,exhibiting unique phenomena such as the glass-to-liquid transition.Here,we experimentally investigate amorphous variants of a Chern number-based photonic topological insulator.By tuning the disorder strength in the lattice,we demonstrate that photonic topological edge states can persist into the amorphous regime prior to the glass-to-liquid transition.After the transition to a liquid-like lattice configuration,the signatures of topological edge states disappear.This interplay between topology and short-range order in amorphous lattices paves the way for new classes of non-crystalline topological photonic bandgap materials.Peiheng Zhou Gui-Geng Liu Xin Ren Yihao Yang Haoran Xue Lei Bi Longjiang Deng Yidong Chong Baile Zhang 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:1

19Mid-infrared active metasurface based on Si/VO_(2) hybrid meta-atoms显示文摘Active metasurfaces whose optical properties can be tuned by an external stimulus have attracted great research interest recently. Introduction of VO_(2)phase change material in all-dielectric metasurfaces has been demonstrated to modulate the resonance wavelength and amplitude in the visible to near-infrared wavelength range. In this study, we report a mid-infrared active metasurface based on Si∕VO_(2)hybrid meta-atoms. By incorporating VO_(2)thin films in different locations of Si∕VO_(2)all-dielectric nanodisks, we demonstrate different modulation amplitude of the electric or magnetic resonance scattering cross sections, leading to drastically different transmission spectrum upon VO_(2)insulator to metal phase transition. The physical mechanism is originated from the field profiles of the resonance modes, which interact with VO_(2)differently depending on its locations. Based on this mechanism, we experimentally demonstrated a large modulation of the transmittance from 82% to 28% at the 4.6 μm wavelength. 20Active macroscale visible plasmonic nanorod self-assembled monolayer显示文摘Although plasmonic nanostructure has attracted widespread research interest in recent years, it is still a major challenge to realize large-scale active plasmonic nanostructure operation in the visible optical frequency. Herein,we demonstrate a heterostructure geometry comprising a centimeter-scale Au nanoparticle monolayer and VO_2 films, in which the plasmonic peak is inversely tuned between 685 nm and 618 nm by a heating process since the refractive index will change when VO_2 films undergo the transition between the insulating phase and the metallic phase. Simultaneously, the phase transition of VO_2 films can be improved by plasmonic arrays due to plasmonic enhanced light absorption and the photothermal effect. The phase transition temperature for Au∕VO_2 films is lower than that for bare VO_2 films and can decrease to room temperature under the laser irradiation. For lightinduced phase transition of VO_2 films, the laser power of Au∕VO_2 film phase transition is ~28.6% lower than that of bare VO_2 films.
