1Effects of intercropping on rhizosphere soil microorganisms and root exudates of Lanzhou lily(Lilium davidii var.unicolor)显示文摘Both yield and quality of Lanzhou lily(Lilium davidii var. unicolor) are seriously affected by continuous cropping. We attempted to understand the effects of intercropping on the obstacles associated with continuous cropping of Lanzhou lily(Lilium davidii var. unicolor). The changes of rhizosphere microbial biomass and diversity in interplanting and monoculturing systems were studied by using the Illumina Hi Seq sequencing technique. The contents and composition of lily root exudates were measured by gas chromatography–mass spectrometer(GC–MS). The intercropping results of Lanzhou lily showed:(1) There was no difference in the composition of the rhizosphere soil microbes at the phylum level, but the relative abundance of the microbes decreased; and the relative abundance of harmful fungi such as Fusarium sp. increased. The relative abundance of Pleosporales sp. and other beneficial bacteria were reduced. After OTU(operational taxonomic unit)clustering, there were some beneficial bacteria, such as Chaetomium sp., in the lily rhizosphere soil in the interplanting system that had not existed in the single-cropping system. We did not find harmful bacteria that had existed in the single-cropping systm in the rhizosphere soil of interplanting system. The above results indicated that the changes of relative abundance of soil fungi and bacteria in lily rhizosphere soil was not conducive to improving the ecological structure of rhizosphere soil microbes. At the same time, the microbial composition change is very complex—beneficial and yet inadequate at the same time.(2) Root exudates provide a matrix for the growth of microorganisms. Combined with the detection of root exudates, the decrease in the composition of the root exudates of the lily was probably the reason for the decrease of the relative abundance of microbes after intercropping. At the same time, the decrease of the relative content of phenolic compounds, which inhibit the growth of microorganisms, did not increase the relative content of rhizosphere soil microorganisms. Changes in amino acids and total sugars may be responsible for the growth of Fusarium sp.. The results showed that the intercropping pattern did not noticeably alleviate the obstacle to continuous cropping of Lanzhou lily, and the change of microbial biomass and diversity was even unfavorable. 2Protective Effect of Holothurian Intestine Against Indomethacin Induced Gastric Mucosal Damage in Rats显示文摘Our study aimed to investigate the protective effects of Holothurian intestines(HI) on NSAIDs-induced gastric mucosal damage and the possible mechanism. At first, 60 male Wistar rats were induced of gastric lesions with indomethacin(IDM, 30 mg kg^(-1)). The rats were pretreated for 15 consecutive days with saline, sucralfate, or HI(0.4g kg^(-1) d-1, 0.8 g kg^(-1) d^(-1) and 1.6 g kg^(-1) d^(-1)) prior to IDM treatment, followed by evaluations of macroscopic damage and microscopic features; and investigation of the levels of inflammatory cytokines, oxidative stress parameters, gastric mucosal prostaglandin E2(PGE2) and total hexosamine in tissues. The expression of COX-1 and COX-2 m RNA in the gastric tissue were determined by quantitative polymerase chain reaction(q PCR). Pathological gastric ulcer indexes, levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines(IL-1β, IL-17, TNF-α) and lipid peroxidation were significantly decreased in HI-treated groups, whereas the levels of protective factors(TGF-β, GSH, SOD activity and PGE2) were significantly elevated especially in the group with HI 1.61 g kg^(-1) d^(-1)(P < 0.05). Furthermore, the expression of COX-2 mRNA decreased significantly in HI groups(P < 0.05). 5Measurement of Earthquake Size显示文摘The paper begins with a brief review of the research history of earthquake size measurement. On this basis,the author pointed out the following points: 1 In recent decades,ML,mb( mB),MSmagnitude scales are widely used as measures of earthquake size. However,these magnitude scales have a deficiency of 'overgeneralization ' and'magnitude saturation'. Moreover,since they do not fully take into account the regional difference of seismic attenuation, especially the difference of site effects on the amplification of ground motion,these magnitude scales are but inaccurate measures of earthquake size. 2 Seismic moment M0 not only has clear physical meaning,but also overcomes the deficiencies existing in ML,mb( mB) and MSmagnitude scales,so it is the most suitable physical quantity for measuring earthquake size scientifically. In order to continue to use the term 'magnitude',Kanamori defined the moment magnitude scaleΔσ. Although its prerequisite assumptions remain to be studied,it is still a reasonable scale used as a measure of the relative size of an earthquake. 3 For measuring the earthquake size more scientifically,we must make full use of a large amount of waveform data from modern regional digital seismograph networks,strengthen the research on seismic wave attenuation characteristics,site effect,calculation of source parameters and the related scaling relations. 7Long-term outcomes and prognosis factors of vagus nerve stimulation in patients with refractory epilepsy显示文摘Background:Vagus nerve stimulation(VNS)is an effective treatment for patients with refractory epilepsy,yet with varied predictive factors and heterogeneous long-term outcomes.Adjustment of VNS parameters is critical for obtaining favorable efficacy.In this study,we aimed to investigate the long-term outcomes and the possible predictive factors of VNS in patients with refractory epilepsy.Methods:Eighty-six patients(59 males and 27 females)who underwent VNS implantation for treatment of refractory epilepsy between May 2016 and May 2017 at five Epilepsy Centers were enrolled.The clinical data,including sex,age at epilepsy onset,VNS implantation,epilepsy duration,seizure type,MRI findings,history of neurosurgical operations,and responder rate(responders were those with≥50%seizure reduction),were analyzed.Results:Four-year follow-up data were available for 76 patients(53 males and 23 females).The mean current intensity at the last follow-up was 1.8±0.3 mA(range:0.75–2.5 mA).The mean seizure reduction was 36.2%at 6 months,38.5%at 1 year,69.4%at 3 years,and 56.7%at 4 years.A favorable outcome of≥50%reduction in seizure frequency occurred in 40.0%of the patients at 6 months,55.9%at 1 year with 4 patients being seizure-free,63.2%at 3 years with 5 patients being seizure-free,and 68.4%at 4 years with 5 patients being seizure-free.Earlier onset age(P<0.001)and shorter duration(P=0.042)were associated with favorable prognosis.Compared with generalized tonicclonic seizures,tonic seizures had a favorable outcome(P=0.026).Twenty-three patients underwent neurosurgical operations before VNS implantation,and the responder rate was 60.9%at the last follow-up.Conclusions:VNS is an adjunctive and effective treatment for patients with refractory epilepsy who are not good candidates for surgical resection or have failed to respond to surgical treatment.The stimulation efficacy increases over time after implantation,and earlier exposure to VNS improves the prognosis.Cuiping Xu Hua Lin Jiwen Xu Xiaohua Zhang Guiliang Hao Qiang Qiang Liu Chengyun Ding Shan Wang Quanjun Zhao Xiaojun Bai Kui Chen Duanyu Ni Yongjie Li Tao Yu Yuping Wang 2022Acta Epileptologica2022,5,3:0
8Decomposition effects of Lanzhou lily(Lilium davidii var.unicolor)flowers on soil physical and chemical properties and microbial community diversity显示文摘Timely removal of the flower is a key agricultural measure to ensure the concentrated supply of nutrients for the growth of underground bulbs and to increase the yield of lilies. Removing flowers and returning them to the field is one of the tradi‐tional ways of treatment, and field litter is formed at this time. Previous study showed that the decomposition of litter changes the soil properties. In order to study the effects of lily litter decomposition on soil physical and chemical proper‐ties and microbial structure, three treatments were set up in reference to the Decomposition Bag Method: control (CK), Lanzhou lily flower treatment (LZF), and Zhongbai No.1 flower treatment (ZBF). The effects of lily decomposition on soil physical and chemical properties and microbial community composition were studied in order to provide a scientific basis and theoretical guidance for the planting process of Lanzhou lily. The results show that the decomposition of lily flowers significantly increased the contents of soil organic matter, soil total nitrogen, soil total phosphorus and soil avail‐able potassium, and decreased soil pH. RDA shows that soil available nutrients and pH were the driving factors for the change of the soil microbial community. A short-term change of soil microenvironment caused by the decomposed lily flower is beneficial to growing the Lanzhou lily.
