| 2 | Inferior oblique weakening surgery on ocular torsion in congenital superior oblique palsy显示文摘AIM: To investigate changes in fundus excyclotorsion after inferior oblique myectomy or myotomy. METHODS: The records of 21 patients undergoing strabismus surgery by a single surgeon between 2009 and 2012 were examined. Only patients who had undergone an inferior oblique myectomy or myotomy,with or without horizontal rectus muscle surgery, were evaluated. Digital fundus photographs were obtained,and the angle formed by a horizontal line passing through the optic disc center and a reference line connecting the foveola and optic disc center was measured. Associated clinical factors examined include age at the time of surgery, presence or absence of a head tilt, degree of preoperative vertical deviation,torsional angle, inferior oblique muscle overaction/superior oblique muscle underaction, and surgery laterality. Whether the procedure was performed alone or in combination with a horizontal rectus muscle surgery was also examined. RESULTS: Mean preoperative torsional angle was12. 0 ± 6. 4 °, which decreased to 6. 9 ± 5. 7 ° after surgery(P <0.001, paired t-test). Torsional angle also decreased from 15. 1 ± 7. 0 ° to 6. 2 ± 4. 3 ° in the myectomy group(P <0.001, paired t-test) but there were no significant changes in the myotomy group(P =0.093, Wilcoxon signed rank test). Multivariable linear regression analysis showed that preoperative torsional angle, degree ofinferior oblique overaction, and age at surgery independently and significantly affected postoperative torsional angle.CONCLUSION: Mean torsional angle decreased after inferior oblique myectomy. | 3 | Amelioration effects of traditional Chinese medicine on alcohol-induced fatty liver显示文摘AIM: To examine the effects of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) on alcohol-induced fatty liver in rats. TCM consists of Astragalus membranaceus, Morus alba, Crataegus pinnatifida,Alisma orientale, Salvia miltiorrhiza, and Pueraria lobata.METHODS: The rats were separated randomly into five groups. One (the CD group) was fed a control diet for 10 wk, another (the ED group) fed an ethanol-containing isocaloric liquid diet for 10 wk, and the last three (the TCM group) were fed an ethanol-containing isocaloric liquid TCM2000, respectively) weekly during the last 4 wk.RESULTS: ED group developed fatty liver according to lipid profile and liver histological findings. Compared with the control group, liver/body weight, serum triglyceride (TG) and total cholesterol (TC), liver TG and TC, serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartic aminotransferase (AST) significantly increased in the ED group.Whereas, in the rats administered with TCM, liver/body weight, serum TG and TC, liver TG and TC, serum ALT and AST were significantly decreased, and the degree of hepatic lipid droplets was markedly improved compared with those in the ED group.CONCLUSION: TCM treatment causes significant reduction in alcohol-induced lipid hepatic accumulation,reversing fatty liver and liver damage, and can be usedas a remedy for alcoholic fatty liver. | Hyun-Jeong Kwon Yun-Young Kim Se-Young Choung | 2005 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2005，11，35： | 4 |
| 4 | Automatic Discontinuity Classification of Wind-turbine Blades Using A-scan-based Convolutional Neural Network显示文摘Recent development trends in wind power generation have increased the importance of the safe operation of wind-turbine blades(WTBs). To realize this objective, it is essential to inspect WTBs for any defects before they are placed into operation. However, conventional methods of fault inspection in WTBs can be rather difficult to implement, since complex curvatures that characterize the WTB structures must ensure accurate and reliable inspection. Moreover, it is considered useful if inspection results can be objectively and consistently classified and analyzed by an automated system and not by the subjective judgment of an inspector. To address this concern,the construction of a pressure-and shape-adaptive phased-array ultrasonic testing platform, which is controlled by a nanoengine operation system to inspect WTBs for internal defects, has been presented in this paper. An automatic classifier has been designed to detect discontinuities in WTBs by using an A-scanimaging-based convolutional neural network(CNN). The proposed CNN classifier design demonstrates a classification accuracy of nearly 99%. | 6 | Development of enterohepatic fistula after embolization in ileal gastrointestinal stromal tumor: A case report显示文摘Gastrointestinal stromal tumor(GIST)is a rare mesenchymal tumor of the gastrointestinal tract that has been associated with the formation of fistulas to adjacent organs in few case reports.However,GIST with enterohepatic fistula has not been reported.Here we report the case of an enterohepatic fistula that occurred after embolization of a liver mass originating in the distal ileum.An 87-year-old woman was hospitalized for melena.On initial conventional endoscopy,a bleeding focus in the gastrointestinal tract was not found.Because of massive hematochezia,enteroscopy was performed through the anus.A protruding,ulcerative mass was found in the distal ileum that was suspected to be the source of the bleeding;a biopsy sample was taken.Electrocoagulation was not successful in controlling the bleeding;therefore,embolization was performed.After embolization,the patient developed a high fever and severe abdominal tenderness with rebound tenderness.Follow-up abdominopelvic computed tomography revealed an enterohepatic fistula between the liver and distal ileum.The fistula was treated surgically by segmental resection of the distal ileum and unlooping of the liver mass. | Yun Ho Lee Ja Seol Koo Chang Ho Jung Sang Yoon Chung Jae Joong Lee Seung Young Kim Jong Jin Hyun Sung Woo Jung Rok Seon Choung Sang Woo Lee Jai Hyun Choi | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013，19，43： | 2 |
| 7 | Development of novel gene carrier using modified nano hydroxyapatite derived from equine bone for osteogenic differentiation of dental pulp stem cells显示文摘Hydroxyapatite(HA)is a representative substance that induces bone regeneration.Our research team extracted nanohydroxyapatite(EH)from natural resources,especially equine bones,and developed it as a molecular biological tool.Polyethylenimine(PEI)was used to coat the EH to develop a gene carrier.To verify that PEI is well coated in the EH,we first observed the morphology and dispersity of PEI-coated EH(pEH)by electron microscopy.The pEH particles were well distributed,while only the EH particles were not distributed and aggregated.Then,the existence of nitrogen elements of PEI on the surface of the pEH was confirmed by EDS,calcium concentration measurement and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR).Additionally,the pEH was confirmed to have a more positive charge than the 25 kD PEI by comparing the zeta potentials.As a result of pGL3 transfection,pEH was better able to transport genes to cells than 25 kD PEI.After verification as a gene carrier for pEH,we induced osteogenic differentiation of DPSCs by loading the BMP-2 gene in pEH(BMP-2/pEH)and delivering it to the cells.As a result,it was confirmed that osteogenic differentiation was promoted by showing that the expression of osteopontin(OPN),osteocalcin(OCN),and runt-related transcription factor 2(RUNX2)was significantly increased in the group treated with BMP-2/pEH.In conclusion,we have not only developed a novel nonviral gene carrier that is better performing and less toxic than 25 kD PEI by modifying natural HA(the agricultural byproduct)but also proved that bone differentiation can be effectively promoted by delivering BMP-2 with pEH to stem cells. | Myung Chul Lee Hoon Seonwoo Kyoung Je Jang Shambhavi Pandey Jaewoon Lim Sangbae Park Jae Eun Kim Yun-Hoon Choung Pankaj Garg Jong Hoon Chung | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021，6，9： | 2 |
