| 1 | The impact of genomic relatedness between populations on the genomic estimated breeding values显示文摘In genomic selection, prediction accuracy is highly driven by the size of animals in the reference population(RP).Combining related populations from different countries and regions or using a related population with large size of RP has been considered to be viable strategies in cattle breeding. The genetic relationship between related populations is important for improving the genomic predictive ability. In this study, we used 122 French bulls as test individuals. The genomic estimated breeding values(GEBVs) evaluated using French RP, America RP and Chinese RP were compared.The results showed that the GEBVs were in higher concordance using French RP and American RP compared with using Chinese population. The persistence analysis, kinship analysis and the principal component analysis(PCA) were performed for 270 French bulls, 270 American bulls and 270 Chinese bulls to interpret the results. All the analyses illustrated that the genetic relationship between French bulls and American bulls was closer compared with Chinese bulls. Another reason could be the size of RP in China was smaller than the other two RPs. | 2 | Tectono-Sedimentary History of Southeastern Coast Region,China:a Synthesis显示文摘According to the ideas and concepts of systems dynamic of continent structure, using previous information related to the study area, combining analyses on orogenic belt, basin and magmatic rock, the present paper synthesizes the tectono-sedimentary development of southeastern coast region, China, with special emphasis on the mountain making, basining and magmafc activity. The tectonic evolution after Late Caledonian orogeny was dominated by alternating rifting and converging, subsiding and uplifting, mountain making and basining in central and southern parts of southeastern China and the adjacent regions to the east and west. Seventeen geologic events, nine events of plate or terrain convergence , and continental crust accretion, as well as eight events of intracontinental rifting and basin faulting , are closely related to the tectonic and sedimentary evolution of the study area. | 3 | Comparative study of estimation methods for genomic breeding values显示文摘Estimation of genomic breeding values is important in genomic selection. Bayesian and BLUP methods are the main techniques employed. In this study,we conducted a comparative study of Bayes A, Bayes B,Bayes Cp and GBLUP methods in simulated data and real data of Chinese Holstein cattle. Results showed that, in simulated data, the accuracies of all methods were all similarly elevated with the increase of reference population size, but they made different responses to the changes of marker number or QTL number. In real data of Chinese Holstein cattle, Bayes A generated the highest accuracy almost for all six traits, and GBLUP performed as well as Bayes A for the traits of milk yield, fat yield and protein yield, while for the trait of fat percentage, protein percentage and somatic cell score, three Bayesian methods showed superior to GBLUP. Comprehensively analyzing above results, it can be speculated that accuracies of the three Bayesian methods are not only influenced by the absolute value of QTL number or marker number, but may also be influenced by the ratio of QTL number to marker number. | 4 | Application of imputation methods to genomic selection in Chinese Holstein cattle显示文摘Missing genotypes are a common feature of high density SNP datasets obtained using SNP chip technology and this is likely to decrease the accuracy of genomic selection. This problem can be circumvented by imputing the missing genotypes with estimated genotypes. When implementing imputation, the criteria used for SNP data quality control and whether to perform imputation before or after data quality control need to consider. In this paper, we compared six strategies of imputation and quality control using different imputation methods, different quality control criteria and by changing the order of imputation and quality control, against a real dataset of milk production traits in Chinese Holstein cattle. The results demonstrated that, no matter what imputation method and quality control criteria were used, strategies with imputation before quality control performed better than strategies with imputation after quality control in terms of accuracy of genomic selection. The different imputation methods and quality control criteria did not significantly influence the accuracy of genomic selection. | 5 | Pedigree transmission disequilibrium test for quantitative traits in farm animals显示文摘General pedigrees are very common in farm animals,and the recent availability of large panels of SNPs in domestic species has given new momentum to the search for the mutations underlying variation in quantitative traits.In this paper,we proposed a new transmission disequilibrium test approach,called the pedigree transmission disequilibrium test,which deals with general pedigrees and quantitative traits in farm animals.Compared with the existing pedigree disequilibrium test (PDT) and general linear model-based method QTDT,our approach performed better with higher power and lower type I error,especially in scenarios where the quantitative trait locus (QTL) effect was small.We also investigated the application of our approach in selective genotyping design.Our simulation studies indicated that it was plausible to implement a selective genotyping strategy in the proposed pedigree transmission disequilibrium test.We found that our approach performed equally well or better when only some proportion of the individuals in the two tails were genotyped compared with its performance when all the individuals in the pedigree were genotyped. | DING XiangDong WANG ChongLong ZHANG Qin | 2012 | Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,21: | 1 |

| 7 | Heterogeneity and differential hydrocarbon accumulation model of deep reservoirs in foreland thrust belts: A case study of deep Cretaceous Qingshuihe Formation clastic reservoirs in southern Junggar Basin, NW China显示文摘Using the data of drilling, logging, core, experiments and production, the heterogeneity and differential hydrocarbon accumulation model of deep reservoirs in Cretaceous Qingshuihe Formation(K1q) in the western section of the foreland thrust belt in southern Junggar Basin are investigated. The target reservoirs are characterized by superimposition of conglomerates, sandy conglomerates and sandstones, with high content of plastic clasts. The reservoir space is mainly composed of intergranular pores. The reservoirs are overall tight, and the sandy conglomerate has the best physical properties. The coupling of short deep burial period with low paleotemperature gradient and formation overpressure led to the relatively weak diagenetic strength of the reservoirs. Specifically, the sandy conglomerates show relatively low carbonate cementation, low compaction rate and high dissolution porosity. The special stress-strain mechanism of the anticline makes the reservoirs at the top of the anticline turning point more reformed by fractures than those at the limbs, and the formation overpressure makes the fractures in open state. Moreover, the sandy conglomerates have the highest oil saturation. Typical anticline reservoirs are developed in deep part of the thrust belt, but characterized by 'big trap with small reservoir'. Significantly, the sandy conglomerates at the top of anticline turning point have better quality, lower in-situ stress and higher structural position than those at the limbs,with the internal hydrocarbons most enriched, making them high-yield oil/gas layers. The exponential decline of fractures makes hydrocarbon accumulation difficult in the reservoirs at the limbs. | 8 | Effect of Diatomite Additive on the Mechanical and Dielectric Properties of Porous SiO2-Si3N4 Composite Ceramics显示文摘Porous SiO_2-Si_3N_4 composite ceramics with high porosity and excellent mechanical properties were fabricated by pressureless-sintering at relatively low temperature of 1 500 ℃ using diatomite as pore forming agent. The effects of diatomite on flexural strength, fracture toughness, shrinkage, porosity and phase transformation of the porous ceramics were investigated in detail. Compared with that of the ceramic without adding diatomite, the porosity of the ceramic with 10% diatomite is increased by about 27.4%, the flexural strength and fracture toughness reaches 78.04 MPa and 1.25 MPa·m^(1/2), respectively.
